If i need to narrow the fan, i adjust the air knob on the gun and leave the regulator alone, so when i'm done, i just go back to full wide fan and full open air knob. You and brian like to set the gun wide open by pulling trigger all the way and turn in the fluid knob. I like to do it from full closed. So if you have paint in the cup, you dont have to pull the trigger to find wide open. Just memorize and count how many turns to get wide open from full closed.
That's a great tip. All the videos I've seen leave the air knob full open and then adjust the fan and the regulator. I'm going to try leaving the regulator at 30psi and fan wide open and give that air knob a try.
I run all three Devilbiss DV1 guns but recently bought a Porphis prd-715 thats blue just like that with 1.3mm MP cap for clear since my DV1-C clear coat gun is a little too slow on total respray work. To my surprise it automizes as fine as the DV1-C but puts almost twice as much material out. Its been awhile since I even got the DV1-C out of the box now. I ended up buying a Porphis PHS-155 1.8MM for epoxy, polyester, and 2k uthrane primer as well since I was so impressed and this new 1.8mm works better than any primer gun i ever owned including the Devilbiss FLG 1.8mm
Mario would you do a side by side comparison between the WS400 series 2 and the Porphis 717 spray gun? So we can get a birds eye view difference between the 2 spray guns
Hi Mario, very enjoyable video Mr Teacher Sir😁those Porphis guns are really nice the ones I've had on loan were all normal tips but the split tip versions will atomise the clear better but there is always a trade off with this design and that is the gun will be a bit slower but I would take the slower better atomising gun any day as it will give you a better flatter finish, I like my WS400 Series 2 which is fairly slow for a 1.3 but it lays the clear beautifully so this is my fav gun👌 I will get the 717 when I can and I totally agree that it needs a digital gauge in the handle👏🙏👍John UK

How much air pressure do you use with the 717 with clear I have to run mine very high to get it to lay down, I use the iwata lph400 normally and I bought the porphis to use at home and I'm just not impressed

@@toycoma98 great tip. And this gun makes it easy to memorize given the clicking sound on each turn.
