I remember when I was a kid, every time I would win a race I would step like 2 feet away from the game and look around the arcade like I was the shit. Actually, now that I think about it, I pretty much did that with every completed level of every arcade game back in the 80's
Those Atari and Midway arcade games were known for their loud and good music/sound effects. Marble Madness, Paperboy, 720, Spy Hunter, APB and many more
Sound about right, since CPU gray cars never crash at all, they almost always drive perfectly, green car would always chase you in 2nd and win in 1st place for good reason, unless green decided to not pay attention to oil slick and *BOOOM!!* *4th place!*
On Saturday June 20th I set the first World Record for the Arcade Championship Sprint. Amazing enough I pulled it off on my first try getting ONE track farther than I had ever gotten. I did film this and will have it posted here in a few days. I was going for 17,000 which is hard enough to get, but I managed to get 19,170 which blew me away. I will get this video up soon, it's really great. Take care Sprint fans.
One of the Twin Galaxies refs was cool enough to post a video of one of my record attempts yesturday. You can see the videos by searching for "John Dunn Super Sprint Attempt 1"
nice to see a small following of this game. Im going for a record on this game and will have a video reply when I actually pull it off. One Quarter - Default Settings - How far can you go? ;)
I'm sorry I forgot to read your message. Yes, I am interested. How many races do you finish on one quarter? I assume this game is very hard because the computer AI really picks up after a few races...
I am currently trying to find a new gas pedal and peg for the pedal for my super sprint machine. I am also trying to find out where the dip switches are on the cpu. I cant figure out why my left speaker wont work.
SET WORLD RECORD! Last weekend at Fun Spot in New Hamsphire I set the new World Record for Atari's Super Sprint. I got 16,210 points on one quarter. I will post some video of me playin' Championship Sprint soon. I need to set that record as well. IF I CAN! I'm gettin' pretty good at both Super Sprint and Championship Sprint..
Okay, it's been 3 weeks. I'm pretty close to setting a very high world record. I will be recording the score soon. I'm over 14K which is very hard to do on 1 quarter. I will add the video when I pull this off.
Depending which track you start from- gives u a different set of tracks. The track order seems to change. I found 2 solid paths so far. On both paths I have broken 15K, but on this new path I broke 16K. The World Record for SUPER SPRINT.. is 15,700. So I assume I'm doing well on Championship Sprint. I will be going to FUN SPOT next weekend for the World Arcade game tournament and will try to set the record on Super Sprint. To answer your question- I think I lose on the 7th race everytime. LOL!
I'm looking for a game that looks like this (all track in screen) but in this one when you crash in walls or with another player you explode and burn and the only way to continue is getting into the pits. can someone help me? thanks
This guy is soooooo bad, it's painful to watch. Horrible upgrade selection, keeps missing wrenches, bumping into the sides over and over. Terrible. Embarrassing.
This is one of the difficult games I've played back in the day

omg that sound effect at the beginning just took me back many years
Yup. It was loud and went through the entire arcade
Gives me the fucking chills every time I hear it

3:25 a rare case of a grey car blowing up...and in the same race a rare instance of the green guy finishing last.

One of my favorite games of all time, this guy in the video was a noob, I used to whip those turns like it was nothing lol
I was barely tall enough to see the screen but this was one of my fav. arcade games when I was a kid. This and Rampage.
My childhood, I used to play here on Midway Arcade Treasures 2.
Was Championship Sprint ever released with three steering wheels?
Nope
My best friend and I had so much fun with this game!!
That was an awesome ending. Like "FUCK IT"
0:50 Who else cringed when he failed TWICE in that race to pick up that wrench ?
LOVE THAT MUSIC AT 6:25

You're to driving what James Dean was to driving.
It's the same tracks. Literally the only difference is that it's a two player cabinet.
I dumped like a gallon of quarters into this game over the years.
Congratulations, I'd really like to see your videos, this game is vastly underrated (aside from the cheap bastard AI)
I've always wondered why Atari used the T11 in the System 2 rather than a 68000. The 68000 is considerably faster than the T11.

I count 3 tracks from Super Sprint (Tracks 1, 4, & 5) and 5 new ones.
SET WORLD RECORD!

I got the World Record Video Up. Posted it above.
