This is probably my favorite one so far. The way the Grain in the wood looks and of course it beeing round, it reminds me of a planet. I dont know why but even the flaps reenforce that impression on me. So beautyfull

I for one love the looks of the cracks in the wood. You have to embrace those " IMPERFECTIONS " it gives the piece its character.

I know I say this a lot to you, but this piece is absolutely stunning! I'm not the biggest fan of wings on projects, but they give this piece a somewhat celestial vibe to it. It would be pretty cool if there was a way to offset the wings to be more diagonal. That wood also has some beautiful color to it, and I am so glad you left the crack in it. Wonderful job as always Mike.
Thanks so much William, the offset is a great idea, I guess if you turn it as a sphere and sand then rotate a few decrees and create a foot and hollow. That would work...... may have to try it 😀

The contrast in weight, design and symmetry with the previous "titanic" makes this one all the more spectacular. The spherical winged shape just yells "form over function". Mike you showed us your visionary eye once again here. Somehow you plucked the true heart out of a great big log. There wasn't a moment watching this that I didn't feel absolutely like you were making excellent choices and bringing home very much what you had envisioned. If I was the creator of the universe and that tree had been my conception, then I would be proud and delighted of what you had made with my work... I think you should make a platter from one of the offcuts because that is just too good to give away.

@@MikeHolton Mike your loyalty to those that reply to your videos is amazing. For every comment that people make you craft a response. I feel very honoured to currently be able to hear back from you on my random thoughts. I recognise that at this stage of your journey it is still just about possible for you to do it. There will come a time soon when the workload will become too great and our direct attachment to your work will fade. It is sad that your success will have this effect but it is overwhelmingly marvellous to know that this is where you have got to, and those of us that have had the joy of interacting with you now can treasure what was possible. I guess soon you might need to set up a patreon or similar for those that want to pick your brains more deeply...
