  • Lately we have noticed that a lot of trekkers coming to the Valley Of Flowers Trek, have been coming with a tourist mindset and expect easy solutions for everything. Be it offloading a backpack for no reason, expecting luxuries on a trek, or hesitant to step out of the comfort zone and experience nature.
In this video, our senior trek leader Nitesh explains why one should trek with the right mindset, so that the trek is more enjoyable, and also to make sure that we leave mountains in a better state than we find them.

Nitesh was our trek leader on my first Himalayan trek. Not only did Nitesh bond excellently with the entire tribe, but he made a lasting & profound impact on everyone concerning practical sustainable & green living (which is at the core of Indiahikes' & seemed like Nitesh's top life goal too). Go Nitesh!

One to thing keep in mind is, once trekking gets commercialised, you can't stop all these to happen. It was once this big companies made trekking available to mass at a cost and see the conditions today. Underprepared trekkers, littering the trails, no mountain ethics, etc etc. It's getting worse day by day.

I had the wonderful opportunity to meet Nitesh sir when he was my trek leader during my trek. I was really blown away by his experiences and his dedication to lead a simple, sustainable and eco-friendly life. I try to implement all his eco-friendly solutions in my daily routine. Hats off to Nitesh sir and to Indiahikes.

Exactly recently went to a trek. It was terrible to see that some people after consuming liquor throwing the bottles as it is and were polluting the mountains. We need to understand that we need to maintain a sustainable ecosystem. We humans have no right to pollute our mother earth.

You can also be a responsible tourist while keeping in mind the fragility of the eco system. I agree to the fact that we should not haul unwanted luggage. But being a photographer i love to capture the beauty and not just trek and come down. Let us not generalize all in one

In january i went to chadar trekk. Many of my group members were carrying plastic items and leaving it right there after using it. It was very unfortunate to see such irresponsible behaviour. We should follow sustainable way of travelling.

Is it safe for a solo female trekker on the trail ? Are solo female trekkers common ? Any chance of getting in contact with a fellow female trekker before the trek starts ?

Depend upon location and time and emotions
Arunachal and uttarakhand and himanchal mostly safe generally
But better if u have ability to identify Locals, don't consider outsider agent since they try to Loot but some are also good
Locals are very honest, u find real Honest India🇮🇳

Once a human is there in such places no matter how nature-loving or nature destroying is that human is the talk about the ecosystem is pretty pointless. And in today's time of social media and entrepreneurs age, it's especially pretty pointless. Today so many businesses are flourishing just at the cost of the ecosystem of these areas.

Hey hi all Nature lovers, a humble request in all your promotional videos and all those Nature lovers making videos on Backpacking and Trekking Holidays, please keep on mentioning "Leave no Trace" spread the words this cannot go on making India dirty, as for me I have basically installed a dummy CCTV camera and a sign pointed saying you are on Candid Camera, very soon see the behavior of these "stupid" people changes, best of luck and good wishes to all the Nature lovers, maybe one day I may be able to travel to enjoy the Himalayen trek/nature (ps I am from the south and I always carry with me a Wild Camera and a small spy camera for my own saftey)
maybe some of you proffessional out there may come out with a better suggestion x thanks
ps I am in a planning stage a Section Treak Mumbai to Kanyakumari, any suggestion ??
