I guess by contrast to Katherine Howard's execution with a clumsy axe, it is more merciful.
A bit of history for you: the night before Catherine Howard was beheaded, she asked for a block to practice laying her head for the execution happened. She spent hours in her cell practicing before she was beheaded

We picked a random age where consent was allowed ( which I agree with btw) and now it's morally disgusting and illegal to go bellow that age but medieval people didn't pick that same random number of legal consent so I'm not going to judge people thousands of years old for not having a modern moral code
Back in those days people would have probably lived to 30-36 at most been poor, with the rich getting up 40's. 50's at long shot. However Henry didn't care at that point. Anne of Cleves supposedly rejected him after he snuck into her room as she was coming to the palace, it was a tradition that the man would sneak into the woman's room and supposedly if they are meant to be she'd swoon for him. But Anne was frightened since Henry intended to hug he and take other liberties with her so she rejected him, which offended him and hurt his ego 😭
Don't think it was tradition. It was more based on Henry's fantasies of his story books namely Robin Hood. It would be very understandable for Anna to be frightened and offended because where she came from it was greatly frowned upon to do what Henry did.

6:47 I read that book by Margaret George twice! It is truly amazing. It’s almost 1000 pages, but you are gripped by the story if you are interested in Henry VIII. I couldn’t put it down! It is told in an autobiographical style with notes from his “fool”. If you like this subject, I can’t recommend it enough!

I didn't like how Catherine Howard was represented here. She was taken advantage of when she was only a child, and her past was used against her in court. Men blackmailed her, and Henry, being who he is, was quick enough to blame Catherine for all of it. There is no proof that she gave consent in any of the affairs that she supposedly had.

It's really well done and also hilarious.
