Alex, You are so correct, wagons rule!!! 🥳🥳🥳That's why I would buy three 243 hp Crown Signia XLEs in Copper, Blue and Red hues if I had a wagon-buying budget sufficient to purchase one RS6. With a total of 729 hp, 15 person seating capacity and an average fleet mpg of 40 on Regular gas, the trio of Signias is clearly the way to go. 🤩🤩🤩To be fair, Audi must be credited for their highly adaptable 40/20/40 rear seat. 🙌🙌🙌 Toyota's decision to give the Signia silly extension flaps that flop instead of a classic 40/20/40 second row is inexplicable. 🤔

The problem is not that the enthusiast crowd doesn't buy performance wagons. The problem is that performance wagons have almost completely been priced out of reach for the enthusiast crowd. If you are looking for one vehicle that does most things very well and is fun to drive, the RS6 is it. Audi does a very good job of making this car desirable. If money were no object, you could only have 1 car, and needed something practical and fun, especially in places with snow, I can't think of a better new option currently available in North America.
However, you can get a well equipped Mustang GT Premium and a well equipped MB Metris for a bit over 50k each brand new. While I wouldn't say the Mustang is a more fun car, it is still fun, and the Metris certainly has more cargo room. The pair would save between 10k-20k compared to this one car and check almost all of the same boxes, while giving you a back-up vehicle if one is getting serviced or breaks down. Sticking within the same $130k, you could replace the Metris with an AWD crew configuration of the Sprinter, just not as fully optioned as the Metris.

I know it’s every car enthusiast’s wet dream, but unless you are so filthy rich that you won’t blink at spending this amount of cash on a car right out of pocket, how many of you would spend 130k on just one car that sorta does it all? All in one product is always a compromise in some aspect, and in this case a big one in ride height and space. there is no shortage of super-wagons in US. there is the Porsche Panamera Wagon, There is Porsche Taycan Wagon, there is BMW M5 Wagon Coming. the real problem is we don't get any regular ( non-super ) wagons that people can actually afford. None from Germany anyway. I read an article that quotes German Executives and Dealers as saying this is deliberate - they are afraid affordable wagons will ruin the prestige of Super-Wagons in US. Or rather we do get German wagons in America OCCASIONALLY but they are always offered only temporarily to keep overall numbers on the market low to protect that Super-Wagon image.

I love the RS6 avant. It's among my favorite cars today, and if I had to be stuck with one car or only had room for one car, and money was no object, my choice would be the RS6 or E63 AMG waon. The issue is, they cost nearly 100k, have priced out most enthusiasts, and that scenario of unlimited money and one car to do everything is basically non-existent. Most enthusiasts see the price of this and feel you can buy 2 cars for the price of this one. Heck, look in the VW family and you can get a GTI and a Q5 for the price of 100k. You have your fun, hot hatchback for the weekends. And then you have your all-weather, fun SUV for hauling. That's the issue with this car. Obviously, you or any of the "10 out of 10" journalist are lacking the Audi dealer experience. Anyone with masochistic tendencies who wants to blow their money on insanely overpriced cars while being treated like garbage by a bunch of arrogant ...Audi is for you!

It's rwd in that the engine and trans connect to the rear wheels by design and a transfer case is bolted onto the trans to connect the front axle. Like every other rwd car...

No thanks--not that I'm in the market for a $120,000 wagon! That infotainment and climate control touchscreen should be put to pasture. Besides, how much does this porker weigh? 5000 lbs.?

It is not FWD based, the platform is RWD based but there is a FWD model. That's a completely different animal than a "FWD based" platform. The FWD model uses a RWD transmission with a rear axle delete and a transfer case that sends power only to the front axle.

@@AAutoBuyersGuide What has gotten into you? You yourself explained in the video how engine and transmission are further forward in the vehicle than in RWD cars. SO why on earth do you call a platform that comes standard as FWD and is NOT available wit RWD "RWD based"? It makes absolutely zero sense. Let me guess, "Audi said so"? LOL

@@ALMX5DP The Impreza is ABSOLUTELY FWD based. Its power distribution is 90/10 front to rear.
