This game might not be as awesome as the original Out Run, but having the Batmobile and a pretty kick-ass soundtrack sure as hell puts it up there somewhere. This is definitely a game I can see myself playing in 2019.
You know what the best thing about the genesis is? In 2019, I'll be able to slap this game in it, and it'll still work flawlessly like it was straight from the factory.
I'm watching this in 2019 now. It's sad to see how our society has become so stagnant instead of what we had enthusiastically Invisioned back in 80s and 90s.
It's funny my Sega Genesis still plays that I got in the early 90's, that I've dropped numerous times, and never cleaned, but my PS3 I got in 2008, never dropped, won't play the games anymore
@CatsBunniesDucksMice i think itll look like today...but a litte bit more neon. i see neon being put up all in a lot of places now, much more than i used to see it
I remember this game, and the awesome music! I know that the original Outrun also has amazing music and gameplay, too. I also like how 2019 doesn't include aliens or flying cars. It seems that people always expect too much from the future. However, if I could choose from flying cars or UA-cam, I think I'd still choose the future that really happened!
It is very likely that in 2019 many people could actually still be playing OUT RUN 2019 on their Sega Genesis. I happened to just buy a copy of this game and playing it in 2015! So in just 4 more years, why couldn't we still be playing this game? I'm thinking in 2019, there should be a Classic Game Room Out Run 2019 Party!!! ( bring your own beer.)
Would have been better if the Testarossa from the original was covered in all sorts of gadgets and metal plating, and underneath covered in moss, rust and dirt to show the effects of time. Like the Back to the Future DeLorean except it doesn't travel through time.
Outrun 2019 is my favorite racing game on the Sega Genesis, and my second favorite of the generation behind F-Zero... fantastic game. The graphics are improved a lot over the other Outrun games on the Genesis, with impressive touches like the multi-level roads, bridges, tunnels, and more. The music is fantastic and very catchy. The gameplay is outstanding, incredibly, incredibly fun stuff. I really like that it's more forgiving than the first game. The only negative is that it;s a bit easy.
How had I never heard of this game?..! -Having had Out Run on the Master System, i am kinda surprised that this sequel(?) passed me by... Incidentally, the Master System version of Out Run was pretty damn good too.
You know the turnpike got a loop-de-loop, lol. I hate taking it to get to PA 66. I still don't understand having to stop to get on the high way, just to floor it so you don't ran over. Oh well that's PA for yah.
I wish it'd been called Outrun 20XX. Nothing is further into the future than when they run out of numbers and have to start using letters. I agree about the original outrun though, there is just something about adjusting that analog radio knob...
It'll be interesting to see what cars actually look like in 2019... To be honest, probably near enough the same as now, except the majority of new cars will be hybrids / electric!
I was a bug fan of this game! it was set 26 years in the furure from when the game was released thats the important thing to consider! they created a plausable city for the time setting! nothing changes that much in such a short period!
u ought to review sonic & sega all-stars racing since sumo digital (outrun series developer) made it. plus it's somewhat of a fan service to sega fans in a way. not sure if u take review requests so i'm just throwing it out there for u " ).
I want to ride on a time machine to 3597 now!!! Yeah the music is pretty good. I can appreciate old school video game music more now than when I was young..I just didn't care.
This game might not be as awesome as the original Out Run, but having the Batmobile and a pretty kick-ass soundtrack sure as hell puts it up there somewhere. This is definitely a game I can see myself playing in 2019.
First game I played in 2019.
It's now the last day of 2019.
Transparent roads have still not been invented.
I will play this in the 2019 New Year's Eve.
It's going to be great to see if the game actually looks like the future.
Only 2 months away...
2019 will look nothing like this when it strikes
The world will look pixelated as fu.
Its here and it looks absolutely nothing like this game
Confirmed, nothing like the game whatsoever.
You know what the best thing about the genesis is? In 2019, I'll be able to slap this game in it, and it'll still work flawlessly like it was straight from the factory.
Hey, Ben from the future here. Traffic is a little heavier, but otherwise a pretty accurate look at 2019.
Hey, Chuck from 2020 here. 2019 looks like ancient history now... 😅
I'm watching this in 2019 now. It's sad to see how our society has become so stagnant instead of what we had enthusiastically Invisioned back in 80s and 90s.

Anyone here playing in 1993?
Greetings I'm from the year 2019
I hope CGR does a "second look" review of this game in '19!
Oh... bad news buddy :(
What a nostalgic feeling once we head for 2019. It would be awesome to play this game in that year.
My dad loved this game back In the day
The car looks like the Tumbler from Batman Begins.....
Please never stop posting reviews!
Hopefully I'll survive the giant insect invasion of 2017 so I can drive rocket cars in 2019.
holy shit 3 more years!!!
2 more months 😬
Here we are!
The best thing about this game was the music :)
That see through road reminds me of that metal bridge to cross into Boston from Charlestown
Looks fun!
Watching this in 2021
Personally my favorite but probably because nostalgia
Great music, Maximum usage of Genesis.
"Budget cuts last forever." hahaha
Good stuff, Mark.
Awesome Genesis game review: Check.
Reference to Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home: Check.
Another review well done, sir.
1 month and 5 Days from 2019
@CatsBunniesDucksMice i think itll look like today...but a litte bit more neon. i see neon being put up all in a lot of places now, much more than i used to see it
Pole Position... IN SPACE!!!! :P Great review! :D
Watching this in 2019. Yeah, not much changed since 2010.
lol....watching in 2018
this game makes full use of the blast processing :D
Mark if it's not your reviews it's your humor that makes these reviews!!! In the future I still drive like a Jackass Classic Mark!!
looks cool, need to find me one of these. always loved outrun
I love this game. I remember playing this when I was younger...
Great game.
arggg, you bugger, you beat me to it, I'm gonna do this one in a few weeks, have it sitting in the queue lol :o)
This was such a great game when I was so young. So fun.
this game was excellent, one of my fav sega genesis racing games.
Coming from the future here,
2019 was aight, the year after though.. 😳😳
Its 2021 and no se thru roads yet lol

i loved this game when i was a kid! haha never thought about how random the year 2019 was though...
You should check out Outrunners for Genesis also - since you've now reviewed the other 2.

I just got it and have been playing it! In 2019!
Happy new year

It’s 2019 and I just bought a copy of outrun 2019 and play it on my 4K tv 😂
their should be some kind of timeline of what the past thought of what the future would look like
Just 8 more years!
Can not wait 2019 will be awesome!!!!!!!!!
Great review. This had me laughing.
Budget cuts last forever.
It's 2019. Where are the 500mph+ road legal jet cars?
Germany, duh.
How had I never heard of this game?..!
-Having had Out Run on the Master System, i am kinda surprised that this sequel(?) passed me by...

2019 wasnt so bad compared to 2020 lol
You know the turnpike got a loop-de-loop, lol.

I couldn't help but notice that "Ridge Racer Unbounded" and "Outrun 2019" have nearly the same menu screen (yes, two of my favourite games)
I wish it'd been called Outrun 20XX. Nothing is further into the future than when they run out of numbers and have to start using letters. I agree about the original outrun though, there is just something about adjusting that analog radio knob...
I like your reviews!
Best. MUSIK. EVER.
It makes great ringtones.
very nice review like always
You should do the voice overs for documentaries.
26 years later 1993-2019 Nothing's really changed that much btw 2019 anyone
so in 2019 sega mega drive musicwill play constantly!!!
YAY
The music f this game in the NTSC version is played stupid fast, while in the PAL version, it plays at right speed. The ending theme is wonderful.
awesome review
It'll be interesting to see what cars actually look like in 2019...
To be honest, probably near enough the same as now, except the majority of new cars will be hybrids / electric!
I luved the Ending.
what is modern agme room hd? all his reviews are classic game room
Loved the Pa Turnpike joke.
So true...so true
Looks like the batmobile from The Dark Knight!
love this gusy dry humour.
Your right Mark, my Sega Genesis will last to 3019, it's outlasted all my other consoles so far.
Genesis does!
the music seems to be the best part
I was a bug fan of this game! it was set 26 years in the furure from when the game was released thats the important thing to consider! they created a plausable city for the time setting! nothing changes that much in such a short period!
I honestly believe that the hype and success of fps is that they are the revenge simulators people needed post 9/11.
Now let's see if the end of the decade is anything like this.
2019, the year in which the original Bladerunner is set.
@sunmin1996 Did you watch AVGN's video?
u ought to review sonic & sega all-stars racing since sumo digital (outrun series developer) made it. plus it's somewhat of a fan service to sega fans in a way. not sure if u take review requests so i'm just throwing it out there for u " ).
apparently this is my birth genisis game, it was made in my year of birth, what game was made closest in July of 1993?
Gyah! The Pennsylvania Turnpike! The TP is vicious.
You should do "Modern Game Room HD" way more interesting
can;t wait for getting that and great game too and outrun 3089
The spice must flow.
Correction... 2019 is 1 month, and 1 week from now
i remember plying this
Man you should review OutRun 2006 :D
Best YM2612 music on the planet.
I agree that this needs a modern remake--it's one of the best Genesis games.
If you can handle the speed.
0:50 Oh how right you were
Who puts jumps on bridges?
Well if you're in Baltimore now.
😅
I COUGHT THE STARTREK REFERENCE.
I just thought everyone should know.
I want to ride on a time machine to 3597 now!!!
Yeah the music is pretty good. I can appreciate old school video game music more now than when I was young..I just didn't care.
what is that song called anyway?
lol star trek refrence!
Was my favorite game.
This was a decent game, and it would have been awesome if the cars looked nicer and the dashboard didn't take up a third of screen.
Anyone watching this in 2019?
when are you going to review TOCA racing for the PS2. It has online multiplayer and is made by codemasters.
@TehUberCyberBeast its the theme music of CGR lol
This game is the closest in the series to the original Out Run. Great game.
They should name the shows for games like these, "Future Game Room"
