Too bad these people didn't port Outrun to the Genesis! This is probably the smoothest driving game on the Genesis, honestly it might be even smoother than the original arcade version of Outrun. Also, the color usage is much better than the Genesis version of Outrun. Game Sack really needs to put this in a "pushing the hardware limits" installment.
they left out all the speech though for some reason. Almost a perfect arcade port though.. that said, i had it in the day and sold it as I got so bored with it.. and then realised why i'd only ever play one game of it at the arcade and never continue when dead.. but i did always play it ONCE when i visited.
I actually played an arcade cabinet with this game at the local skating rink in my home town years ago. It was a stand-up style with wheel and everything, it ate quite a few of my quarters XD
The music in Roadblasters kicks some serious arse, it was perfect for the game, the developers did a great job choosing it for the game, I wonder if the music thats in it was it their first choice or did they have another first but decided to go with this This port to the Sega Mega Drive of the game is the one that is the best and closest to looking identical in every way to the original arcade of course on the Mega Drive version the controls are different slightly where the wheel of the steering has Auto Centre and you cant turn it off from that i couldnt find how to turn it off but thats easily or I should say Easyably ha ha haha that slight thing with the controls can be over looked because how good the game is to play
Love the arcade, this looks just as good, without the hilarious voice, love these genesis reviews, i would like to see more turbografx views tho, anyhow great job.
@L1LTERRA Yeah, the CGR headquarters is located in a secret base with tank treads on the ocean floor somewhere just outside of Australia. They were headed to Hawaii, but they ran out of gas.
do you remember the matchbox roadblasters toys? I think that is what this game was made after and the toys theme jingle is also featured in this game as well
Easible, thats a great word, I like how you incorporate a bleep machine tone, for when you swear, not many reviewers do that, so I thought that was good
Road Rash is an interesting comparison, maybe a good example of “arcade vs. console” game design. They both seem to get old at the same rate, but I do like them, however if Road Blasters had several sequels, I feel like it would have been better on consoles because of the solid arcade dynamics
Man this does remind me of MegaRace!!!! How do you donate a game for review? Would love Lance Boyle to get some CGR love especially with the Zoom reboot coming for MegaRace!!!!
Great game, especially in the arcade because the controller was like the old Star Wars Arcade controller. Game is really nothing like Road Rash though, more like Pole Position meets Spy Hunter. Great Genny conversion.
I think the Genesis version of Roadblasters comes very close to the original arcade version. If you listen and look at both versions os the same game, they sound and look remarkably similar.
Man those graphics still rock till this day. I have to get this game for my Genesis for real.
fireheartis1 - Yeah, it looks exactly like the arcade.

I loved playing the arcade version at my local diner. Thank you for this bit of nostalgia.
Great conversion of the arcade.
I've always loved Roadblasters and I can honestly say that this version is almost arcade perfect. It's awesome

I loved playing the arcade version at my local diner. I'd always get on the top of the high score list. Thank you for this bit of nostalgia.

Nice catch on the Tyrell Corporation back there. Haha!

My favorite home version of Roadblasters was on the Lynx. It felt closest to the arcade version.
My buddy and I used to play this in the arcade all the time in college. Good times.
Had this on the NES and loved it. Never knew that it was on the Sega Genesis until now. I have to get this game
This is a really good port of this, keep up the great classic reviews Mark.
I remember playing this in the arcade. I feel old.
Love the arcade, this looks just as good, without the hilarious voice, love these genesis reviews, i would like to see more turbografx views tho, anyhow great job.

Did anyone else notice the 'BJs' sign in the background of one of the tracks?
Great, now I can't imagine RoadBlasters without a driver from Turbo saying "Turbotastic" -_-
Your voice - "sounds cool and gets right to the point"
I love your voice :D
Easible, thats a great word, I like how you incorporate a bleep machine tone, for when you swear, not many reviewers do that, so I thought that was good
This game on NES was the first video game I ever beat, love it.
HOLY CRAP THEY TELL YOU TO SKIP ADS
Good review. This game looks like a cut down easier version of the first Fire and Forget by TItus. Cool games.
Grew up playing this love this game

they still have this arcade cabinet at our laundry mat!
cool game man
and i live in CONNECTICUT! THATS SO AWESOME TOO KNOW THERE ARE OTHER NERDS AROUND HERE!
I remember this one. I used to play it all the time in Chuck 'E Cheese! I loved it so much. :) I was pretty good, too.
2:09 "Is that Tyrell Corporation in a distance?" ROFL
I grew up with this game. I bought it at Toys R Us back in the day.
If your car does the speed limit do the sentry guns still shoot at you? Does that save gas? I suggest fixing that hole in the gas tank.
@2600theeatari you do know that CGR as created in the 70's right?
@2600theeatari it was first online in 1999 and they have been playing since the 70's
Man this does remind me of MegaRace!!!! How do you donate a game for review? Would love Lance Boyle to get some CGR love especially with the Zoom reboot coming for MegaRace!!!!
I know right!!!! Make sure to try the Zoom version of it, that one runs the best!!!!
I would love a mega race cgr review.
Great game, especially in the arcade because the controller was like the old Star Wars Arcade controller. Game is really nothing like Road Rash though, more like Pole Position meets Spy Hunter. Great Genny conversion.
I have this for nes, but now I want to get the sega version it looks so good.
@MrLittleman96 totally agree, and mark releases a new review 2-3 times a week and Irate releases one every 2 months
@affansonicfan Are you thinking about Chase HQ?
Are those the motorcycles from terminator 4?
eabyeasably?
Oh Mark, we love you and your humor
I love this game! the sound effects are great!
@2600theeatari Classic Game room was on online in 1999. Five years before the IRATE Gamer.
I played this in the arcade in '89 aged 11......memories!....ironman stewarts offroad was next to it followed by supersprint and spyhunter
I wonder if this game will ever show up on XBox Live Game Room. Atari would be wise to port the arcade version and put it on there.
that crash animation is awesome ;D
does this game have an end or is it one of those endless games for score?
Personally, I enjoy the intro to all of his videos.
This looks awesome..
I'm totally gonna use Easibly from now on.
what's the theme song at the start?
@2600theeatari Classic Game room was on the internet in 1999. Five years before the IRATE Gamer!
Heh heh...Tyrell. They should have the Tyrell P34 in a game. Or do they and I'm not aware of it?
Still love this show in 2019!
I think the Genesis version of Roadblasters comes very close to the original arcade version. If you listen and look at both versions os the same game, they sound and look remarkably similar.
spinner? was that Blade Runner reference?
Wow...haven't seen this since the arcade in '89....i was 11 then....Indiana Jones and the last Crusade came out that same year
was that the very first "ebaysably"?
Reminds me of Action Fighter on the Master System.
Tengen made some great hidden gems...
i didn't know roadblasters has an super-secret-scene where it has a turbo-tastic over the screen in the movie.
@ShidoGu I'm glad someone else here noticed the Blade Runner reference.
if you want another mad max like game, try Battle Cars on the snes
@nicosamur it's Ebaysibily,not Ebaysily!
EASIBLY! You're awesome Mark.
Way to go Jake! This game rocks
Fuck yes!!!
Another badass review by the badass, MARK!!!
I like how we're driving toward BJs. Just don't forget your membership card. Hmm I need bullets, gas, and 30 pack of TP.
I played this when it came out on NES, but unfortunately back then it wasn't as eBayisibly as it was back then, so I didn't know anyone who had it.
Who are you,Turbo in disguise?
Damn I miss classic game room!!!
since your doing alot of racing reviews, have you ever thought about reviewing an f-zero game?
I remember this game I played it in the SNES
@Gamerboy28 thank god !!!
Reminds me of some cool amiga games...
Wow, this game runs smooth.
@nicosamur I think you'll find he said "eBayisibly".
Reminds me of Chase HQ on the C64.
great animation
oh,those old racing games where the car was stopped and the road was moving
Holy shit, I was born in Southbury, CT!
Ah, the birth of Ebayisably!
The kind of spinner I want is not the same kind Mark is referring to.
Another awesome game on the almighty Genesis
Mad Max in videogame form would be Outlander.
Thank God this is in Midway Arcade Treasures... :D
This game is awesome!
Turbo-tastic
Why did arcade racers have such good music?
youtube, I'm not against adds, but when they affect whether or not the video starts, I am officially pissed off
fuckin hell, this game runs smooth!
@2600theeatari i don't expect you to reply there's the catch
thnx jake
lmao my name is tyrell too lol that was trippy
Why didn't you review DKC returns, instead of making CGR Undertow review it.
@ShimaUta86 Yeah! Blade Runner is one of the best movies I ever watched.
The origin of "Ebaysibly". CGR history
Lord Karnage approves
best blackbox title
Just go that way realy fast, if something gets in your way, turn!
