Mine is great. Already clocked several hours on my pro version playing Talos Principle, Far Colony: Exiles, Meltdown as well as some sideloaded games. Can't wait to start some GRID streaming. I just need to run some cable first because my router is broken and hasn't been functioning consistently. This thing is an absolute beast.
Ok, you sold this device to me. Gamestop has the Shield plus remote for $200 so i got it. Now i will check that gamecube emulator. Thanks for the review.

Damn this thing looks sweet! its cheaper than the xbox one and connects you to your google account and gives you pretty much a media hub just like the new xbox,all for $200 dollars, thats amazing. Great video Dom! Definitely might actually get this.
Hey Dom, my shield tv console is coming next month all the way from USA!! Since I live in Bangladesh, where the voltage is 220/240 and in USA its 110v ....would that be any issue???

Can you install apps to the expanded HDD you add? Because if you can't what are you really adding storage wise other than for movies, music and roms. The most important thing is having enough storage for apps.
Orions Angel I have a MicroSD card installed and you can install apps to it. You can even configure apps to "automatically" install to the SD.

Hey Dom, saw your TV in a setup video a while ago. This is the LG 55 inch 4K tv, right? Are you enjoying it? Heard the 4K upscalling is only running at 15fps.
Works great. Upscaling seems normal to me! This is the 8500 series I think.

I thinking about to buy it frome amazon.com for $299.99 but i can not see if the device is support 230v electrical outlet that we have in Sweden, you do not want to burn it apart.Would be nice to see some one some can confirm it works in EU.

Well, it's an interesting device for sure and pretty powerful, certainly with the 4K output if you have a 4K TV. But I'm not so sure it's the best one out there, for instance once Amazon get their new game streaming service running fluidly on the Fire TV, the can offer some pretty cool games, although I don't know Nvidia's pricing for it's streaming service? And we have that Razer Android TV box too although I think it lacks a game streaming service?
I guess these lil Android boxes are beginning to take over that space under the TV, and that is the power of the internet folks as it means bye bye games console and satellite or cable decoder and contracts.

So you get better r/w performance off the 16gb fully, but I dont think its such a big deal either way cuz the hybrid drive is likely more than enough for any normal task

I believe you can, but like the shield portable you can only do it if the PC has nvidia gpu

Does this "Console" support steam games suck as TF2, the Black ops series, or GTA V?
Do people recommended this or a steam machine?
cathaoir haughey If you already have a decent gaming machine, I'd recommend this. If not, Steam Box. GRID is cool for streaming games, but it's a small selection compared to what is available on Steam. Also, GameStream or GRID is going to require a hefty connection. I was getting 25Mbps on a wireless N, 2.4Ghz connection and was only able to achieve 720p30. You either need a 5Ghz dual band, or a wired(preferred) connection to stream the 1080p60. As for your connection itself, I wouldn't recommend anything less than 30Mbps for streaming 1080p. It will work, but you might as well play a console if you're going to use 720p30!!!

Instead of getting the pro and spending $300, u should get the 16gb version and get a 1tb external hdd for $50. Twice the storage of the $300 version and $50 cheaper.
Would be better if it played Blu Ray too
It is just to expensive. You could get the 500GB Model with a remote, or you could get a Xbox One, which has far more powerful hardware and does many of the same streaming features, like Netflix. If the 500GB was $200 and came w/a remote, I would be more interested.
