  • I watched the 2000 film What Women Want, starring Mel Gibson and Helen Hunt. Interesting idea for a script, cliché at times, nothing too unpredictable. But enjoyable. Would I watch it again? Probably not. But I don't hate it.

    Hahaha I love this movie! The scene when he's putting on the pantyhose alone is worth the price of admission! I love Mel Gibson. Adam Alda, Bette Midler, Helen Hunt, and the actress doing the daughter are also awesome in this! Great reaction!

    This is one of my favorite movies all -time. I'm sure I've watched over 20 times. My kind of comedy. But hey, I also like Lake Placid, where every line and every character is sarcastic. Loved your reaction.

      ps, loved your Almost An Angel reaction!!!!! subscriber for life!
      Love your accent and guessing one of you're specialties is fashion/decor because you seem quick to notice outfits and room setting. Some of the things I never notice myself. But do when you point it out.

    I wanted them to develop the story line of the messenger girl who carries the files. I felt they left some good stuff out of her story.

    this movie is great i've seen it a few times, but this reaction so negative and sad judging everything before letting it happen is sad.

    • @katreacts6843
      @katreacts6843  3 роки тому

      Yeah, I tend to judge things before they happen, it's a bad habit of mine. I think it started way back when I was only 8 years old and thought I was a witch who could predict things. So I just started to form a negative opinion of things before they happened and I haven't been able to stop since. I'm working on it though, my therapist says I've made some excellent progress in the last year! :D

    There are some really good actors in this movie: Helen Hunt and Mel Gibson, clearly. But Judy Greer, Lisa Edelstein(who played Cuddy on House), Marisa Tomei ( won an Oscar for my cousin Vinny) and Ashley Johnson(who voiced Gretchen on recess but who is now most notable for the voice and motion-caption of Ellie for the video game the last of us 1 and 2)

    Not one of Mel Gibson's best movies. If you haven't seen it, watch "Maverick" (very sweet movie) and "Ransom" (suspense!) - Gibson's better movies.

    Mel was a favorED actor for me back then - I can't say I saw all of his previous films, but absent a more favored cast, I'd see his. This film was the end of that. His later choices made it more and more difficult, and his real life comments made it impossible.

    • @ollietsb1704

      By the way, 'watching it again' didn't help me. So many films are more interesting to me for any number of reasons, but no... not this one. (I am sure I've seen it a third time, too, because I remember asking myself a year or two later, "Did it really deserve this dull, flavorless memory in my head?" I mean - I've seen films in bad moods before and those definitely colored / mis-colored the film so rewatching corrected that. But no... even a third time... mostly, this film is one that I regret seeing Helen Hunt wasted in. That's my one distinctive memory. ugh.)

    • @katreacts6843
      @katreacts6843  3 роки тому

      @@ollietsb1704 I agree, Mel Gibson is not my favorite, and I probably won't watch this one again even though romantic comedies have historically been my thing. This one just didn't do it for me.

    I honestly find this movie insulting. Everyone should find this movie insulting. The basic message of this movie: Men will never understand woman, unless men can read women's minds.
    It isn't a good message. If you want to know what a person wants, man or woman, you just talk to them.

    • @katreacts6843

      I agree! Plus, everyone is different. I probably won't find myself watching this film again.

      "What's the matter, darling?"
      -Nothing.
      "Really? Are you sure?"
      -I'm sure.
      "OK then, you know I'm there for you."
      -Sure.
      (few hours later I am greeted by a decapiteted cat in front lawn with "you know why" message)

      Mario Habijanec ...I'm sorry, but I won't humor that kind of relationship. God gave us a mouth to speak and ears to listen, it would be a sin not to communicate with each other.
      And I love the fact that your example is gender neutral. Failure to communicate is a universal problem.

    • @HABO2210
      @HABO2210 3 роки тому +1

      @@BigGator5 I agree that communication is key , but what to do when the other side constantly refuses to express their concerns, in spite of your best efforts. In these circumstances you'd have to be a psychic to unveil the mistery inside someone's mind.
      Or simply give up and move on

      Mario Habijanec ...I gave you my answer. I honestly wouldn't humor such a relationship. Besides, murdering a cat for any reason should draw an automatic "See you later!" response.
