You will be able to make all kind of envelopes customized to any paper, size and proportion with this simple trick, no need to buy fancy punches if you already have an scoring board. You will also need a ruler, scissors and a set square that you can buy in any stationery shop. It took me several hours to figure out how to accomplish this, but thanks to this video by Stamping Style ( • Custom Envelope ) I found the clue to calculate the envelope paper size and then everything was much less complicated to figure out how to make using the set square.
In this video I show how this method can be used for any size and proportion envelope (A5 cards may be the biggest) by making 4 different envelopes so you get the trick, because at the beginning it may seem complicated but it is not, and I assure you it is easy and practical!!!

FINALLY! I've been searching for an easier way to customize my envelopes. The standard templates were either too big, too small, not squared enough or not rectangle. Thanks for making this video.
I appreciate your comment because I know many people may be looking for this instead of buying those machines and punches, there are so many different ones trying to convince people they need them to make envelopes the easy way... it is a pity people don't see this method, it alouds to make any size and proportion envelope, they would save money and space ... would you help me and share it? It took me quite a lot of time to figure this method out!
This is the best video to show how to make an envelope for any size card with a scoring board!! BEST! Thank you so much!!
Thank you for appreciating it, many people say it is too difficult but it isn't, it is just difficult to explain, but very simple to make and extremely helpful. I am sad many people don't get it, to explain it in English is difficult for me because I am Spanish, so I am glad you understood it!
Brilliant! You explain it so well, and the envelopes look really good.
Excellent because English is not my mother language! As a matter of fact I confess you that I have been accused of not explaining it well enough in the Spanish version of this video (and that is my mother language)... I guess it is because it takes some attention to understand and some people get easily bored! Thank you for appreciating this method, I am so happy to have thought it for hours till I got the trick!
I did it! You are a genious. The paper I have wasted over the past few days, trying to make envelopes to fit. I will be trying the Spanish version of an envelope for thicker cards. Thank you so very much
Thanks to you, it took me hours to figure this method out and make the video but I am glad now it helps many other people, I will appreciate if you help me to share it in facebook, twitter or pinterest as so many more people may find it helpful as well!
YOU DID A GREAT JOB EXPLAINING THIS AND THANK YOU. GREAT JOB !!!
I am glad you liked it and understood it, for me this has been a very helpful technique, it took me time to find it out but now it is a time saver!
This is amazing and it really works, no matter what size envelope you need to make! I did have to go through it twice and take some notes but now that I have proved to myself that it works and done it a couple of times, it is not difficult. Thank you so much!!!
You cannot imagine how happy reading your words have just made me!!!
I have invested quite a lot of time in finding out this "how to", I knew there had to be a way to make custom envelopes without the need to follow special measurements charts and using expensive rulers or gadgets, and I spent hours trying finding out how. I was so happy when I was able to figure it out thanks to the spark that lightened my brain after watching this gentleman's video (Stamping Style channel). Then I had to adapt it to a simpler way of doing it, (as he uses an special diagonal scoring board) without special envelope triangular or diagonal rules, just with the scoring board and basic cheap rulers.
I was very happy to share the idea as I thought many people would be interested in it... but, as you see, not many people have seen the video which I uploaded more than two months ago. So your comment makes me so happy because now I know at least you have took my advice and tried, taken your time to try it and taken advantage of this technique. Thank you very, very much indeed for commenting! Please, feel free to share in Facebook or twitter or to your crafting-scrapbooking friends, I would love to spread this technique!
Your hard work and persistence and your generous heart to share what you have learned are all appreciated by me! I will share this technique with anybody who I think could use it. Thanks again :-)
Betsy Cosmos Wow, thank you so much, I send you a big warm hug from Spain!
Hey, that's the first Spanish hug I've ever received!!
Betsy Cosmos Well, then I send the second and a third! Hug, hug!!! Sincere hugs!
im so thankful u made this video, i have it saved under my favorite videos and always watch it when making cards. i am a beginner and u made it so simple to understand. tfs
+Meli mel : This is such great news knowing you can take advantage of it. People are getting crazy buying expensive gadgets to make envelopes and take so many complicated measurements out of long measurements charts...it is not necessary!, I think the scoring board has it all, you only have to learn to take the most advantage of it and it is such a versatile and great tool. I knew I was going to be able to find out how to make envelopes with it and I did, I am very glad I did and extremely happy to help you and inspire you! Please, share this video if you know people that may be interested in this technique!
OH MY GOODNESS!!!! THIS IS SO COOL!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!❤
Thank you so much, glad it helps you as much as it helps me!
WOW! What a great video! Thanks so much for this information. You must have quite an analytical mind. Most envelope videosare too basic and only make a specific size. I'm amazed by your method because now I can make an envelope for any type or size of card, letter, or flyer. Thank you so much for taking the time and effort to share with all of us.
Thank you so much for appreciating the method, it took long to find out, the video I link was a great help but it uses special tools and I wanted to make it with more basic tools... the best thing about this method is that you only need to take one measurement, and then is all automatic... hope you share it! I am very sorry some people think it is complicated but it is not at all once you understand it
This looks like the best I have seen on making envelopes. I am going to try an envelope for 1" card.
Oh, yes, thank you for taking this method into account, give it a try and you won't regret the time you spend learning it!
excellent demonstration, thank you.
It is a pleasure if you find it useful.
Fab ....thank you so much .............you explain how to do this..... best ever
Thanks for having this method into account, I invested several hours and a lot of thinking trying to find out how to do it!
I would appreciate it so much of you share it with any friends you consider it might be of their interest! Thank You!
Perfect...thank you so much for this great tutorial!
I am glad you found it! Please, share it in Facebook or twitter!
Thank you for doing this in English 😊where do you get the paper from to make the large envelope?
It is just simple card stock for crafts work or printer paper
You explain it very well. Thank you.
Thanks to you for taking this video into account!

Brilliant. Thanks for this. You explain this very well.
I am so glad you are finding this video, because it is so useful but nobody seems to notice! Could you help me to share it in social media?
Great video, thanks for sharing, I like your cutting board, can you tell me where you got it?
It is sold in every scrapbooking or crafts supplies shop, just search for the WRMK Trim and Score board, though now it is sold in white instead of dark grey (this video is old): www.amazon.com/We-Memory-Keepers-12-inch-titanium/dp/B00EOC6T6E
very well done explanation on making envelopes for any card! tfs
Thank you, I am glad you understood my explanations, it is hard for me to explain in English!
Thanks you so much for this video,xx i am new to card making and could not work the envelope out, i have watched your other video and i would love you to do one in English please thanks .xx
Hello, Mary, thank you for your comment, I am not sure what other video you are talking about, I have more than 300 videos in my channel! Unfortunately my English videos hardly got views so I stopped making them, but I would like to know if I can help you.
Awesome! You've done a brilliant job! Thank you so much.
Thank you very much, Donna!
Thank you you explained it well
Thank you so much for watching the video and appreciating!
Thank you so much for sharing your great idea !
Thank you for taking it into account, the moment you practice and learn how to do it, you'll love it!
I have been working on measuring envelopes for different size cards all day and then decided to check you tube once again and I found your video. Yipee! You have taken the guess work out of making envelopes. I have a question. If you make an envelope for a thick card do we just add 1/2" on to the measurements or whatever size thickness you need???
I have a video on that, but is in Spanish and I don't have an English version, you may have a look if you are interested even if you cannot understand what I say because, at least ,you can see it ua-cam.com/video/PPDOMdy-N_M/v-deo.html. What I do is I take the measurement of the card using the set square ruler as I show in the video above (what I explain on moment 01:34) and to that measurement I add 3/4 of an ich (like I explain in this video as well) and, in addition, I also add the size of the thickness I need the envelope to have but doubled, let's say I want it to be 1/2" thick then I will add 1 inch. Then I will cut the paper for the envelope as a square paper that has each side measuring the total sum of those three measurements. I will mark the folds as I show in this video. Once I marked those four folds I will mark a second fold on each side 1/2" parallel to the first marks , away from the center of the paper, not towards it and then I will cut the sides as I explain in the video I just gave you the link to. I know it is not easy to understand it with this written explanations, but I hope it helps you in some way. Happy envelope making!
Thank you thank you thank you for this amazing video!!!
Oh, I hope you get the best advantage of it, if you have any doubt just follow the video while you are doing it and it will make all the sense!
Good video, but a simpler way is measure your card shape (any shape card) from tip to tip diagonally add on ONE inch to that figure cut your paper to a square place card on cut paper and fold in the 4 corners. Saw this very simpler technique recently....simples!
I will have to try it and see how it works, thank you very much. Does that method work for any card proportion?
@@Fancylooks Yes any size card triangular, round, square...any size simply add one inch
@@babskara3911 Well, I add 3 quarters of an inch not to the diagonal size but to a measurement similar to it, then I also fold in the flaps after scoring them leaving an eight of an inch from the sides, so it is a very similar procedure to the one I explain, it should work.
@@Fancylooks ok but you dont need anything but a ruler no score board/other tools nothing else. Just add on one inch cut paper fold. Take care. X
@@babskara3911 I understand you don't need an scoring board for scoring, but the results are much better when you use one.
Great explanation!
Thank you, it is my method, I discovered it after seeing other resources!
Super fantastic, thank you so very much, you are AWESOME! Thank you again :)
Thanks to you! I found this method super helpful, ever since I discovered it it was magic! I know I can make any envelope I need, even quite big ones!
very helpful. Thank you
Thanks to you, hope you understand the process and if you don't, try to make it while you are watching the video
does sound difficult but it’s not & you don’t need a template. Thank you
Yes, that is exactly what happens, when someone sees my explanations it is easier to think "I don't understand" and not to bother to concentrate and understand... then you miss how easy it is. This method is far better than any especial board, you don't have to look at chart for the sizes, you don't need to take into account several different measurements... Just one does the trick! Thank you, Carol, for watching and commenting
You lost me at "If you want to know" LOL
It is a literal translation of how I usually start saying in my Spanish videos... why do you think is funny? Did this technique help you in any way?
hahahaha
just out of curiosity, are you from spain?
Yes , I am, it is not difficult to guess, I imagine!
like preciosa un besito
Gracias, guapisisísisima!
