    I found this useful for helping a friend deal with her QBO as she doesn't know how to set it up. I'm a Quickbooks Desktop person, but am trying to learn this. One question to make sure I set it up right. Here in Washington we have numerous extra deductions on payroll. PFML, L&I as well as SUI two are employee and employer paid, portions. Do I just add them as deductions as you have for the SUI in Texas?

    Thank you for the information. However, I would like to ask how to you print the manual check ? You shows print the pay sub, and input the check number? Would the pay sub is also mean the copy of the physical check itself?

      Hello, Jen!
      Yes, you can most definitely print pre-printed paychecks with the paystub attached through QuickBooks Online.
      To order voucher checks to print your payroll checks on, you can visit: (intuitmarket.intuit.com/checks/voucher-checks).
      Then be sure to enable 'Preprinted QuickBooks-compatible voucher check stock' from your Payroll Settings in QBO, and set up your printing alignment. You can follow these steps: (quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/help-article/printers-printing/fix-print-alignment-preprinted-checks/L4YPqVG0Q_US_en_US) to guide you through the process!

    How do I pay the garnished child support wages to the attorney general and how do I find the amount?

    • @quickbooks
      @quickbooks  2 роки тому

      Hey there, Elissa. In this instance, I would recommend contacting an accountant or contacting the government for the best way to record this. You can learn more about that here (quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/help-article/payroll-setup/compliance-wage-garnishment-orders/L2tVIKpco_US_en_US).

    Last year we paid several people via check and gave them a 1099 Nec for last year. However we have decided to hire them on but we have already issued them checks this year as if we were going to give them another 1099 nec again for this year. How do we back track to get those taxes taken out for January 2022?

    • @quickbooks
      @quickbooks  2 роки тому

      Thanks for reaching out, Jennifer.
      In QuickBooks, you could keep the 1099 payments you made to them, and move forward running regular payrolls for the individuals. This would mean that, depending on how much they were paid in contractor pay, they would receive both a 1099 and a W2 at the end of the fiscal year. However, it would be best to consult with an Accountant/CPA for the best steps on how to account for this with your particular business.

    We are a trucking company and we pay employee a percentage of the loads they do. How would you input for payroll

    • @quickbooks
      @quickbooks  2 роки тому

      Hi there!
      Typically, if you'll be paying employees a percentage of a total, this would be considered a Commission based pay-type. Commission is a form of compensation that's typically based on an employee's sales performance or completion of a task. Commission can be paid in addition to a salary or instead of a salary. Hourly employees who also receive a commission must be paid at least the minimum wage for hourly workers.
      You can get a better understanding of the available Pay Types in QuickBooks Online Payroll by visiting: (quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/help-article/payroll-additions-deductions/supported-pay-types-deductions-explained/L9bwnybee_US_en_US).
      However, to choose the best method/pay type for employees based on your particular business, it would be best to consult with an Accountant/CPA!

    • @quickbooks
      @quickbooks  2 роки тому

      Great question!
      QuickBooks Online Payroll has several different Pay Types that you can pay your employees with. One of these is indeed 'Commission' if choose to pay by commision only!
      For a detailed guide on how you can get this set up in QuickBooks Online Payroll, you can visit: quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/employees-and-payroll/how-do-i-create-commission-only-paychecks/00/905553#!
