I know you’re not into Warhammer 40k anymore but could you possibly do something like the space wolves style terrain or to steer away from Warhammer, a sci fi themed viking long house or blacksmith/gun store
Turned out great, love the windows! You probably already figured this out, but, the soap was your issue with the wash, only need a literal drop for that amount of wash. Keep up the great work!
Really pretty! This type of glass is much more realistic than printing a 2D transparent sheet. Can you please provide a link (or a guide) how to make it? :)
Love the mix of 3d print and old fashioned bashing it together by hand. You could of got walls to 3d print and floor etc, but This is way cooler. Loved the windows too!
I don't know how I never thought of using a black marker for stained glass windows, but thanks for using it. You've saved me a lot of potential headache! 😂
Awesome! The idea of doing glass windows with the 3d printer looks very interesting. I will try this out soon (a Diorama of the church at St. Maire-Eglise on D-Day). Thanks for showing us this how-to! Greetings from Belgium Belgium Diorama-Maker
I'd like you to know that I like the way you go at this hobby. I know it's work for you, but you inspire me to try stuff, wether with sprue or other types of miniatures. You seem to enjoy it and it's contagious! Keep it up. Cheers from Montreal, Canada.
For the wash bit, a few things: Try ink instead of paint, paint pigment tends to separate when thinned out too far (specially cheaper paints), inks do not have that problem. I think you used a bit too much liquid soap usually only need a few drops. And I also think they tend to add in a bit of paint medium instead of all water, again to help the pigment not separate out too much. Cool build overall. Keep it up.
why add soap to your wash? all I've ever done to make my washes is just a 2:1 water to paint mix and have liked the results. awesome video, I'm keen to try the stained glass project myself! thank you for sharing!
I love that technique for the stained glass. would you be able to a tutorial on converting to STL and modifying it in the program? recently got an Elegoo Saturn and im still at odds with a lot of how to correctly do supports and stuff like this.
They really are nice, especially with how simple the process was. A lot of the time, when you try to make stained glass miniature windows, you end up creating a mess and it doesn't look good. You usually have to make and actual wire window, then use colored resin slowly to fill in each piece. This was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better.
@@MiniatureHobbyist Hey mate, Please can you make a way to seel those windows? I'm desperate and failing a lot to make some stained glass windows for my Warhammer tanks but yours would solve the problem like nothing! Great work!
Let me know below what you would like me to make next?...
nice job on this build. How about having a bash of a wrecked viking ship?
@@csgsmolders yeah that sounds like it could be fun and I could use some resin for a beach kind of scene
I know you’re not into Warhammer 40k anymore but could you possibly do something like the space wolves style terrain or to steer away from Warhammer, a sci fi themed viking long house or blacksmith/gun store
I think you should do a good old secret lair with a magical portal leading to it from a otherwise blank wall
You should make Megaton from fallout 3, or anything from fallout would be cool. Great work as always mate!
Turned out great, love the windows! You probably already figured this out, but, the soap was your issue with the wash, only need a literal drop for that amount of wash. Keep up the great work!
cheers, yeah I need to experiment with different quantities of things to see how they all come out

This is awesome! I would *LOVE* to see a video on how you turned .JPGs into .STLs - that seems like a skill I could really use :)
I will do a video its very simple and Im really pleased how the windows turned out
Hey, I second that. Would really like to see how 🤔
Same here. I would love to see how to do it. The results on your video are just stunning!
Looks great! I love how the video is sped up, there is no dilly-dallying - straight to the point. Keep it up.
This is great. You're a very talented guy 👏
For washes, you can get a better result by switching from paint to inks, it tends to mix better and you have fewer separation issues
Please make a video showing how you designed the window and printed it?
Turned out great!
Superb...and inspired work on the stained-glass, looks great!
Love the mix of 3d print and old fashioned bashing it together by hand. You could of got walls to 3d print and floor etc, but This is way cooler. Loved the windows too!
cheers, yeah I love 3D printing but its fun to bash stuff as well lol
great work, awesome windows. Love the old school brickwork.
Hey great work again, where do you get your xps foam?

I think it would be pretty cool if you'd make a mind flayer colony build with an elder brain/elder brain pool in the centre of it. Cheers!
I might just add that to my list of builds to make
Absolutely incredible build and the ghosts miniatures are awesome Jon
thank you so much
Windows look awesome!
So cool!!
The stained-glass came out pretty great. Also I find that I have the same problem of the pigments sinking in my washes
cheers, yeah I need to experiment more with washes
very nice work that vitreaux, and those ghosts are cool as well
thank you so much
Parhaps wash needed nove pigment, parhaps thicker or just reappet the process.
It is beautiful work..
Thank you.
Agreed windows came out nice
For the wash, just put it in a bottle and shake it before using it. That will help with the pigment sinking problem.
cheers, I have got some bottles now so should be a better result next time
those stained glass windows look amazing! some kind of copper coloured pen for the seams would look really cool
thank you, yeah I might try that next time
"Everything's all Hicklety Picklety and Cream Cracker'd"
And you wonder why we like hearing your commentary 😂
Great windows !
thank you
how do you jump from positioning the stain glass windows to instantly there are holes in the wall in shape of them? missing a step maybe? 6:00
Wonderful. How about a weapons forge?
yeah I do want to do a blacksmith weapons room

yeah I will do a short video on how I did it as it didnt take long at all
@@MiniatureHobbyistThank you! You're the best!
So the walls are crumbled but the stained glass windows remain?
This must be one of the better stained glass results I've seen, too bad I don't have a 3D printer lol
i was kinda surprised how ell they came out lol

Weapons room please, or did you do it already?
that is still on my list to make and will be soon
what clear glue are you using? i assume this inst the gorilla glue that expands as it dries?
yup its clear gorilla glue so doesn't expand
Very well done, you should sell the completed windows as a craft item to other hobbyist.
i might do a video showing how to make them as its very simple, well it must be if I can do it lol

@@Erebus-oc9zq hi, I keep meaning to make a seperate video showing the process, I promise to get a video out next week =)
@@MiniatureHobbyist thanks for the response!
Looks awesome. .jpg to .stl video soon please??
Noice!
I think that lens flare look is from the lens being greasy or having a smudge on it. Cleaning the lens with glass cleaner should fix the look
There are so many hobbies i want to pursue like this but cant because i specialized too much into one thing 😭
you should do what you want, I do
Too bad there is no link to the STL
I see everyone doing just a drop or 2 of dish liquid n some pva glue
My expriment with washes, use diluted inks, ignore the soap
You used waaaaaay too much soap for the wash. Use 1 drop or less in future. It's just to break surface tension, not even strictly necessary.
try using ink not paint to make your wash
probably too much soap
yup that odes seem to be the problem lol
@@MiniatureHobbyist correct. 1 drop or less. Great builds, thanks for posting :)
Awesome video love the build
