In this video we look at the Dyson DC65 Animal. This is Dyson's latest upright vacuum and it is the replacement for the DC41. We walk you through many of the vacuum features and specifications and also test the cleaning ability of the unit. Tests include fine dust on carpet, small and large materials on carpet, small and large materials on bare floors, edge cleaning, and a test of the tangle-free turbine tool. We also look at the vacuum dust canister and filters as well as many other features.

*A great vacuum for the price. The suction is awesome. Excellent for pet hair. The beater attachment works great **MyBest.Tools** on the stairs. Not too heavy and easily maneuvered.*
Best vacuum ever purchased. Sucks so much dust and dirt in one use. Didn’t know how much my last vacuum was leaving behind until I used this one.
Great review . Totally what I needed to get me to buy one.
We have two! this is an amazing fix!
This is the best review of this vacuum I've seen on youtube! Thank you.
That's so great to hear. Thanks!
Great review man
*Overall 5 stars as it's exactly what we wanted,🧼 **allabout.wiki/Dyson-Upright** in terms of cleaning power. Suction is as good as all the reviews state. When we first got it, I first vacuumed with the existing vacuum and then with this, the additional fine dirt that was in the Dyson was gross and convinced me we needed this. We have medium length carpet and a terrier - no issues, I do imagine plush carpets would not work well with this. Also a little too powerful for most bathroom rugs. Great for area **rugs. One** con is the hose, it's great for reaching far away places (ceiling), but is frustrating and hard to use if you're within arm's distance (think couch and floorboards). This is due to the design of the hose having this long metal rod for extension. Also, I haven't figured out how to get the hose back together quickly as it's supposed to nest into the base of the vacuum. This piece might just be user error though.Canister is just like all others, still have to take out the middle insert to get all the dirt out. I often make a mess around the trash as I'm trying to empty it, but the suction picks that right back up.*
Great Video!! Thank you!!
Thanks for the video, picked one up for $374
excellent review!! Thank you! I would have liked to know how you turn the extended wand on and how to get it off of the base, otherwise very helpful!
Love your videos, I bought the DC66 here in Canada , same as DC65 and I am having trouble after I have used the wand the suction does not return to the main head??? What am I missing? HELP
I just bought this and I am anxiously waiting for it to arrive. Only spent $200 factory refurbished. I also have the Bissell 86T3/86T3Q Big Green so I won't have to worry about dirty carpets. :)
I'm sure you received it by now. What do you think? I had a DC65 for a few years and loved it. I just bought a Cinetic to see if it was any better. Kept the Cinetic and gave a relative the DC65.
Very good reviews you do.
But does this vacuum have wrap around of hair on the beater bar? Ty
hi mr vacuum what the suction strength at the hose for the Dyson dc65 I have a Dyson ball multi floor
So I got the DC65 Multi Floor and after about a minute or so of usage the unit got really hot. It even warmed up the carpet, is that normal?
Great job, i totally agree with your review,
i just bought the dyson DC65 and have pretty much the same opinion on the pros and cons of the vacuum. Only one additional annoying thing. When you turn the power on and you put your hand on the handle there is suction at the top of the wand, if your wearing a long sleeve shirt it will suck on your sleeve. Really annoying.
Did you notice that?
I did. I actually thought I must've assembled it wrong. I have long hair & it gets sucked into that stupid hole. I can't believe it's supposed to be like that. I also wish it had somewhere to store all the accessories. For that price it should come with a bag or something. Also a retractable cord would be nice. Good suction though, can't complain about it's main function as a vacuum. Picked up tons of dirt & hair just from my quick test. I can't believe my floors were that gross :/
Hi. At Costco, Dyson ball animal + is for $239.99. At Best Buy, Dyson ball multi floor is $199.99. Which one is better and why? I can not decide which one to buy. Thank you.
Up until the year 2000, Dyson licensed its design to a distributor named Phantom (do you remember these vacuums? I do), which went out of business. The Dyson is actually a rebranded Phantom, with the same design at an increased price, and new marketing efforts. get a miele
a dyson is fine. they are both sealed systems. but if you empty the bin in ur house out of the dyson bin ur letting the dust right back in the air the miele s7 doesn't do that. I have a cat. and i have no prob with the miele. and my air in the house could not be cleaner. also i dont have to clean the dyson bin or any of that as the miele ages. with the dyson it requires more cleaning not to mention i have no filters to run under water. i just replace the bags which are 9 layer filtration and once a year hepa which is a true hepa that blows out zero emission dust. i had a dyson and it didn't deep clean as well. that i proved.
Lyndon where did you get that info?
What is your career field? You are very detailed, scientific, and thorough.
+arrowzfly21 never mind, I found your website. What a great resource. I think im going to get the Dyson DC50 animal. its on sale right now on amazon.
+arrowzfly21 Hey - Glad you found the website. I have a background in engineering so that's probably where the "technical" approach comes from. I wish I had some background in film-making. These reviews are a work in progress.
I totally agree
The DC65's brushroll is truly a better design than the DC41's brushroll
How would you carry the vacuum, by the actual handle or the filter handle?
We usually carry it by the handle but the manual actually shows that the correct way to carry it is by the handle on top of the cyclone assembly.
How would you compare the DC39 with the DC65? I want an upright. My wife wants a canister. Even if I go halfsies with her on a new vacuum she might not let me buy the upright. I want to know if a canister vacuum is worth letting my wife have her way...again!
Anthony Gates dont get the dc39 it has no powered brushbar but the dc66 does
Is it above 80 db in noise? Thanks.
We did a noise test on this machine some time back and we recorded the following: With the brushroll off (just idling) we recorded 75.3 db at a distance of 3 ft. With the brushroll on we recorded 80.6 db at a distance of 3 ft.
is it worth the $699 in your opinion? i actually picked one of these up and went over my carpet with it 3 times and then went back over my carpet with the shark rotator and the shark picked up more than what this one did kind of stumped me!
Yes
I see these machines selling for under $450. new on Ebay. Free shipping, no sales tax. It's still a little pricey but my 10 year old Dirtdevil just took a dump and I like the way this model handles floors. I hate sweeping.
j.d. thompson Yes. Looking at the DC65 Animal Complete now for $400 with a few more things than this one.
Luvster G. I did actually get one and it does have super suction. The canister was full after using it three time in my apartment. I thought my old machine was keeping the carpet fairly clean but evidently not. It's powerful and quiet. Well worth buying IF YOU CAN GET A DEAL IN THE $400. PRICE RANGE. I would give no more than $450. Too many less expensive machines with great reviews to spend any more than necessary.
j.d. thompson thanks, got one for $374
you got some nice ass white carpet there lmao
Excellent suction. BUT will just bog down on new thick carpet. Buy a Hoover with adjustable head. The Dyson head does not have adjustable head. Poor design.
Flower is bad for cyclones on the vacuum 😡
