Yes! I'm building a yurt! This is going up on our off-grid property in Michigan. The next video will show me finishing the platform (insulation and subfloor), and the yurt going up. Thanks for watching!
Looking forward to seeing what you produce this time Brooke. (now that the coffeehouse is completed) Such a handy family you all are with construction.
I'm proud of you. From an old lady all the way in Florida. Thank you for saying, "I gotta get to church." Can't imagine life without my faith. You're going to have a nice place to be proud of! Stay strong.
I just spent 3 weeks solo at my off grid camp in the deep woods of Vermont for my 60th bday. It’s so satisfying to be the only one amongst the animals and nature. Love watching your videos and this one is Perfect. I’d love to add a yurt and offer off grid solo retreats for those that want to experience the wilderness. Zero cell service, no electricity and right on a small lake with no other camps. Heaven!! Thanks for sharing, always learning from you. 🙏🏼 😊
I'm further south of you in Virginia, but my dream is to find some property near the mountains where some friends have moved and retire in a less populated area than I live now. I love rural communities.
Can you EVER STOP? First helping your daughter build the coffee shop and now building a yurt‼️‼️‼️YOU my friend are INCREDIBLE😊👍🌟❤️‼️Well you might have made a mistake but you STILL ARE INCREDIBLE‼️ I think you should take a break and go get a big cup of coffee at the shop and relax on one of the couches for awhile😊👍‼️❤️
Thanks to you and your husband’s utube videos, my husband and I build an outhouse and cabin on our property in Eastern Oregon. We aren’t carpenters and it’s not perfect but over the summer we got her done! Thank you so much for all your help and confidence that we can do it!!
Hello there Brooke. It is always a pleasure seeing you. I absolutely love what you do on your channel. And I'm so thankful and grateful that you're daughter Bella has her coffee ☕ shop up and running. I hope and pray that everything goes well for her and you. May the good Lord always bless you and your family and keep you all safe and healthy where ever you go
I’d love to recycle your mistakes!~to make extra birdhouses and bat houses. My son was just talking about building them today. Honestly your the first person I’ve wanted to see building the yurt from scratch👍🏼excellent! I love your humbleness and authenticity🪶it’s appreciated. Continued blessings to you and yours✨👐🏼 I have no problem recommending you🌸and your family☺️ I just started watching this year so eventually will be catching up on your past visits.
YOU are such an inspiration to women! I love your knowledge of tools & building! It makes me want to learn & do so much more! So glad you’re back! 💪🏻😎😀
I can sure identify with the "learn-as-you-do" the project. Think it through, for sure ... Then Just Do It! I can definitely overthink my goals. Thanks for being candid, Brooke! Looking forward to your next installment :) God Bless you all
I love he thought of owning a yurt yet having travelled ,camped and spend time raising four children and happily with my sweetie of 49 years it’s time to relax-and everything .love watching cheer the Ones going into the wilderness and ,taking on just about everything . Bravo girl!1
Brooke!!! This was fascinating! I don't think there's anything you can't do! The weather is getting cooler slowly but I can't wait to Get Outside and Get Happy!! I have several projects in mind!! You are sooo inspiring!! ❤
I envy you for so many reasons! You are going to age well because to keep busy and push yourself. And you do such fun stuff! You stay fit. Its too late for me but I so enjoy watching you! I have a cabin in the California side of the Sierra Nevada mountains. I love being in the forest and making the wildlife my friends. Keep moving Brooke!
It’s ok to make mistakes, we all do, frustrating for sure but you are always a determined person. I lived and worked south of Marquette for 40 years , you and truly compliment what I always called Gods Country. I watch all of yours and Dave’s videos over and over again, you and your husband bring back so , so many beautiful memories and for that I thank both of you from the bottom of my heart .❤
Hi Brooke! Hadn't visited your YouYube page for a bit too long, so you were first in line to view today. 😊 You have good editing skills, all the videos you do, you've become a real pro! Very enjoyable seeing the floor come together. 👏👏👏👏
Really enjoyed the coffee shop videos with Belle and all❤️ Great job on such a massive endeavor!! Good to see you back outside in your comfort zone😊Can’t wait for the campfire 🔥
You are my hero, a rockstar, an inspiration. I feel like I have so much motivation to do things, but I lack knowledge, but I’m willing to learn. Thank you so much for inspiring me to make mistakes and to just try. It’s the only way to learn. Love from California.
I am glad to see you back on. I have missed seeing you and Moose of course in the woods. Your videos are so fun to watch and your skill set is amazing, I would like to be as talented like you are when building things.
Way to push through! And thanks so much for the shout out 🙏 we have a lot more videos coming out this winter including a deep dive on deck building so feel free to subscribe to catch that! Obviously you didnt need it 💪 keep me posted if you have any questions as you go and definitely keep me in the loop when you're ready to build a dome. Looking forward to seeing your beauriful yurt ❤ - Johnny 🌞
Thanks Johnny! I hope I built it right... do you have any feedback on suggestions for a future platform? I'm definitely looking forward to seeing your video on the deck build. Love your content thanks much!
Glad to see you & Moose, with a fresh project! I can sure relate to cutting the boards wrong side up, & when working solo, there's noone else to blame! Ack! Proud of you for taking your son's advice & limiting the self-anger to 10 mins., love it! Keep up the good work! God Bless! 😅❤👍
Awesome guide. So many fabulous tips, like one every second pretty much! Love the string level in particular, never seen one. I really want to build some small pavillion or suchlike in my garden, and this video is so so useful to add to the information in my brain for that future project. It's also slightly comforting to see even experienced people make mistakes. It was totally the kind of mistake I might make. Love the "ten minutes to be mad, then let it go". That's genius. Will use! Also great to see that a normal power pack can't cope with the mitre saw. I was also admiring the stand. My neighbour has something similar and when I get a mitre saw, I want one! I will have to ask him what it's properly called in German though, so I can order one. Or just budget to spend a bit more and get both at the local (non chain) hardware store "The Shop of All Things", I call it. Hardware is cheap, but they only carry one line of power tools which isn't the cheapest.
I got my saw used, and it came with the stand- a definite must have if you ask me! I was surprised my bluetti couldn't keep up with the miter saw. some can and some can't. good luck with your future build!
Hi Brooke! I've made the same mistake. Angles always are tricky. You miter cut when you needed to bevel cut. But you recovered nicely. Love watching your builds.
MOOOOSE!! Missed you :) Brooke wonderful to see you are getting an outside rest you love building a thing. Well needed after the last few hard months. I wish I had one inch of your go. Loved this and looking forward to part two! hugs as always
Wow that's awesome! Lot of thought and work going into this. It's going to look really cool when you finish it. I bet even Genghis Khan would be impressed.
It is very good seeing you back in the woods!!!😊🎉❤ It was also delightful seeing your daughter getting her coffee ☕️ shop open!!!😊😅😂 Whoot Whoot It must be satisfying to see your children doing so well!!!😊😅❤
Your doing a fine job Brooke , you just got to realise how hard it is to build something on your own and how mentally strained it can be for one person and yes accidents like the way your cutting your boards do ordinary happen when working on your own , so your doing incredibly well , keep up the good work. Brooke.
Love it! Good job building and learning - it never ends! Some of you might be aware of a great way to set posts good ‘n tight and with good drainage (at the cost of more material): 50/50 mix of pea gravel and sand.
Unusually cool ,( officially calendar wise, early Autumnal season) weather, (which is the so coolest , ( my favorite , of all four seasons) time of the year! ) Yay! Most cool (and on its way to becoming a Siberian weather ready) Yurt! Double yay. Way.....cool beans!! Triple yay!
I’m so glad I found you again! I thought you had taken a break from UA-cam!! I guess YT decided to drop my subscription! Excited to follow the yurt build. 🥰
This video was entertaining, educational, and inspirational. I learn so much on how to push through on a project, deal with my emotions, and get out there and get happy!
Well heck, Dave posted something from Alaska and here you are with such an absolutely brilliant project. Edge of my seat I am for every video. I'll tell ya. Brilliant and inspiring. Thank you so much for sharing all that you do. 〰✨🌿👍🌿✨〰. New Hampshire.
Hey Brook so happy to see you back!. I love Yurts . Happy Belle has a successful coffee shop operation . I always love the various building projects you show us it is a diffinate learning experience . I am looking forward to the next episode on the Yurt build . Watching from London Ontario, canada .
Glad you are back. Thanks for showing your mistakes. I am going to do this. I love your utube. I do the same thing your son says. 10 mins thats all it takes. I watch your son too.
I scrolled through the comments to see someone had mentioned this but didn’t see it: although not wrong, it would be safer if you tilted your saw on the Y axis left (or right since it is dual bevel). The board would be much better supported and would accommodate a wider board if needed since upright you are limited. This is a cool project!
Great work Brook! 🙂👍 Dont feel too bad, making mistakes is how we learn, and you recovered from this one very well Also I've made that exact same mistake too. Looking forward to seeing this project progress and keen to see your Yurt all set up. 🙂
