Bro I watched the whole thing but don't understand why Ultrastudio signal is cleaner than GPU? also can it turn an SDI signal coming from a let's say RED into ready streamable HDMI, how do you transform gamma?
GPU is influenced by the operating system of the computer, so the signal isn’t as clean as the signal from an IO device like the ultrastudio. I don’t know any colorist or post house that doesn’t run an IO box like this one.
Have you calibrated yet? If not please do a video on that process. As i understand it, the only way to calibrate correctly, using the clean feed from Resolve through the Decklink, is with a combo of the included Asus software and Light Illusion Colourspace, which is $800 😮
Yes I have. I used displaycal and it generated a LUT for resolve. Great method for resolve! But be careful, it won’t work on Mac OS Sonoma or later as of yet and doesn’t seem like it will get fixed. I had to use an older Mac but it worked just as good since it is only creating a LUT that I just copied over to my other Mac
