This market looks much cleaner frpm the ones i saw in 2017 in Phnom Penh. But Cambodia was the cheapeast country from SE Asia countries. I was eating on the streets for 60 US cents, which was totally crazy. But at the time I was on a really low budget.Is it still cheap compared to other countries?

No, Laos is definitely the cheapest one. Unfortunately the use of the dollar has increased prices a lot!

it's more expensive than Laos, Myanmar, and some places in Philippines and Indonesia. Average income in Phnom Penh increased a lot, and average income in other places increased by similar margins as well. Middle class is growing rn

LOL you got scammed, the food you had was definitely not $9. Max for the two of you should be $3-4 for everything if not less. That market tends to up price but there are other places that have prices.

I know, but I’ve also noticed it’s very common to not write prices at food stalls in Cambodia, so they could tell anything to foreigners
