@@TommoOnUA-cam um about youth park , have you realized that a bridge starts there , and if you try to go under you have to build over the river
Maybe to mark the Monaco GP's 100th anniversary they could change the circuit layout/routing in 2029 to use different roads in the city-state
@Arran McCaffery But Monaco's GP started in 1929
@Rugby Crave The F1 world championship started in 1950/51 but several countries (France, Germany, Italy, Monaco, Britain and possibly a few others) had held one -off Grands Prix pre-War.
Honestly, just deleting the chicane from the back straight at Paul Ricard would help, a lot.
Teams would need to run less downforce for the whole lap too.
Either get rid of it which is possible, as the track is LITERALLY built for that area like abu Dhabi turn 4-5, or make it a very hard braking, monza turn 1 type.
it's not allowed because the straight would be to long for the FIA approval

Nice! Sexy verification badge looks so nice when it's next to your name.
The ramp for the Helix pedestrian bridge might also be in the way though. Alternatively as it's a street circuit perhaps we could rotate between different layouts/routes for each year of the Singapore GP, to make it more interesting
I'd rather watch a street race in the middle of Moscow or St Petersburg
with the your final corners in Singapore, get rid of the barrier at the end so if you brake too late, its into the river for you.

Great Video btw lovely the 2 vids a week !! 😃😃😃😃
Been waiting for this one since monday
Sochi just became the most exciting track in the world. All it took was moving the last few corners on to the train tracks.
Simple modification to Monaco is to remove the hump in the road from casino to mirabeau to create an overtaking opportunity into turn 5
5:35 your wish was granted… you saw a fantastic overtake there ;)
Tommo, I freaking love your videos mate! Keep doing what you're doing you legend!!!
Thank you buddy!
Another change for the Catalunya circuit : Turn 1. Make it sharper to force a heavy breaking there.
France and russia produced exciting races this season thankfully. Let's see if UAE joins the party too with the new layout and moreover it may be the title-deciding race of this season.
They could make the final corner at Shanghai a little rounder because it's a hard-to-judge corner and they could go faster which gives a better change of overtaking into turn 1.
I was waiting for this since you revealed the thumbnail in the last video, lol 😂
Tommo you’ve done it again! Another top quality banger!
3:45
I would remove the chicane in the middle of the straight and add the hard braking zone at the end of the straight. I like the decreasing radius corner that you killed.
10:39 they've fixed a bit for next year but only turn 16-19 due to redevelopment nearby the turns, turn 20-21 remain unchanged
Another fantastic video!
You kind of got your wish with Singapore with the bottom parts of the circuit turned into a straight, but it goes slightly opposite from what you considered initially.
Who’s here after the Yas Marina changes have been announced?
Thanks for taking the time to Really think about Monaco. I hate racing it in games but like you, what could ya change? But that little roundabout could make things happen.
Well thought Tommo.
For those tracks that already have the changes in the form of slip roads, I wonder if an e-sports simulation can be held to see if these changes make things more interesting!
Everyone: Tilke builds hard braking zones everywhere
This Video: We need MOAR hard braking zones 🤔🤨
The incredible thing is the changes they've made are almost exactly what you suggested for Abu Dhabi, well done!
Great Ideas Tommo, well done!
Honestly, most of these redesigns aren't great. Starting with France, the issue there is really dirty air before the Mistral Straight. That problem should be sorted with the 2022 cars though, as the dirty air will be greatly reduced. Beausset has been ruined as well, being a brilliant fast corner where cars can go side-by-side if they get out of signes together. The final sector definitely has potential, but that chicane looks very awkward, and would just let gaps increase onto the pit straight.
Sochi would not really work for the T7-T9 section, as the dirty air through 7 will kill any passing opportunity into 8. Turn 8 is also a nice corner, and the flow there is ruined. Bypassing the 15-16 chicane is a big improvement, and the last two corners are improved, although the space taken up might mean that it is impossible. The pit entry could be improved with this last corner, with potentially an 80kph speed limit, which decreases the pit delta.
Abu Dhabi's chicane before the hairpin has to exist, for safety. If the drivers did just skip it, the FIA would DQ them, or just not sanction the event. The new section at the harbour could work, but the issue there would be runoff, as the facilities there would restrict what could be done.
Spain's big issue is dirty air, so bypassing the chicane is a big no. There is a reason that F1 stopped using the chicane. The dirty air through the final corner would be a lot worse without the chicane, so passing would be a lot harder, as the following car can't carry enough speed to be close down the straight. The tighter new turn in S2 would give a passing place, but looks too tight to race well.
Monaco's change is one that I do like, and it could work well. Moving nouvelle back could help as well, if a new area is built just like the existing chicane.
Singapore's arena section (T16-19) will be torn down in a year or two iirc, so there could be a straight between the current T16 and 19. The final corner would require a lot of building work, especially as it requires a lot more runoff than the current corner.
China's redesign could work very well, but the racing there can be very good already, so it doesn't really need to change.
Hmmm
Tommo
you should not apologize, You are doing great job Great vids, it takes time! Well its good you will take more time for all the comets, Keep up the Great work you are doing! PS Great to hear you against Jimmer when you was playing Trackmania!
Small cost of realization and new challenging layout are best solution to improve race and drive sensation on circuit that are a sleepy boring experience. Nice work!
The chicane at the hairpin at Yas Marina is only there for safety reasons as there is very little run off.
Feels like this man loves heartbreaks.
That's the kind of videos I like
Wonderful design
Well done 👏
I think there may also be another way to extend Monaco somewhat. Instead of turning right at Rascasse, there's a road to the left of the corner called Quai Antoine 1er, which then loops back around onto another road called Avenue de la Quarantaine, which then takes you back towards Anthony Noghes Corner and onto the main straight.
I'm just gonna say I think Singapore has great races every time (racing wise). 2019's race was the most underrated race of the year.
Well this was recorded late, Imola's back!
🙌🙌🙌
Yep, Imola needs to fixed for sure. Of all the optional tracks, they pick this one!
@@CIinbox How would you fix it? Imo, the track flow is brilliant. The only change I would make is to go straight on at the small right kink before Rivazza and then make Rivazza a tight hairpin and then have it open up like Parabolica (@Monza). However, this would reduce the chance of an overtake at Variante Bassa, although we could create a "new" Variante Bassa by switching the side of the pit boxes and reversing the direction of the chicane, also removing the small right kink that proceeds Variante Bassa. I thought of placing it after the start line, but there is a restaurant there and Italian's love their food, so I wouldn't want to remove it. Saying that though, I would absolutely YEET the ice skating arena at Sochi, cos, who really actually cares about ice skating.
Okay, the Variante Bassa would be the same direction, just further out. I AM STUPID
Unfortunately.
Love the vid, one thing though. I think the turns 5 and 6 chicane at abu dhabi is used for safety, because there isn't enough run off due to the grandstand for it to be safe to fly into the hairpin at 200kph.
Your changes were brilliant, especially Abu Dhabi, Monaco and China! 👌🏾
I remember hearing that the reason they had to add that horrible chicane in Abu Dhabi is that they didn't have enough runoff compared to the amount of speed they would carry into that corner or something.

I feel like Tommo's monte carlo change would make an interesting reverse circuit, the uphill hairpin might suck abit tho
Monaco is the only track that would work in reverse. People say you can't run in reverse because there is no run off, but in Monaco there is no run off either way
They should just shorten that stupid unnecessary wall that’s sticking out on the inside of the harbor chicane at Monaco
Loved this, great idea when theres no racing on, and I'd love to see you do all the tracks
Tommo: worst an bored circuits
2021: hold my beer
ABUDHABI They already removed the t5-6 chicane, it is the corner Verstappen became world champion!
Actually, for Spain, we could try and make turn one a heavier braking zone as its risky to go side by side in its current form.
Risky is exciting though no?
@@TommoOnUA-cam problem is, it's hardly a braking zone now though
Or just change turn 6 into a big flat out corner
Yes it is exciting. But at the hint of an overtaking move some drivers just take the escape route or we have racing incidents (Stroll-Norris). Its really difficult to go side by side at that speed and angle. Maybe widening the corner like turn one in Portugal?
I believe mid-high speed corner before the straight going to the hard braking zone is a better approach than just the braking zone alone, and watching the inside line as the second turn after the breaking zone also has a strong impact on overtakes.
Good video idea: Tommo’s perfect 23 race calendar. So you replace the boring tracks to what you think should be on the calendar (mugello, kyalami etc) to make up the perfect track season.

The final sector at Spain used to be like that. It meant that cars were front aero limited coming on to the pit straight and couldn’t really follow. You did correctly assess the main issue with the track though, the teams test there. They have the data so optimized that it’s basically a procession.
