After leaving the church and trying to find my answers at the bottom of a bottle for 7 years I finally listened to the holy spirit and went to confession. It was one of the greatest moments of my life. To finally have all the weight and pain lifted. I try to go every month because I know now that confession brings you closer to Jesus. God's love and mercy truly is greater than anything we can imagine.
Amen amen! That's amazing.
This brought me to tears!!
I guess it was meant for me to see it huh!!

I used to be a horrible drug addict in the past. I went to Confession after 4 years of homelessness and crime. I was in there for 1.5 hours. That was the moment I started really cherishing the Sacrament. I had a hard time forgiving myself. However, hearing the gospel one on one and knowing Christ DID forgive me helped me to start healing

From a cradle Catholic that was plucked out very young into other Protestant faiths and now I am finally coming back home more than 40 years later. Confession is such a great gift. I go pretty much weekly after going 2 times a year when growing up (I'm sure you can approximate when)
I remember going to confession for the first time in decades during holyweek. You are right the moment you say that after confessing your sins all the burden and guilt has been lifted and it was the greatest feeling out there.

I'm in the beginning of God's love transforming my life. My ex-husband was scrupulous and was one of the protestants scaring me from God and Catholicism. No more. Rosary daily is so healing, now trying to go to church soon. So nervous! Praying for your continued success spreading the truth. Thank you!
Because the Catholic Church and the Rosary are from God while the protestant or bible alone church is from man or men.
Oh, wonderful!
Beginning to feel Gods love is so, so healing. And overwhemling, and kind of scary, but also wonderful and soothing.
I've been there. Scared to my bones, yet also beginning to feel His soothing love.
Best advice I can give: don't overthink. Let go of control, let Him guide you, one foot in front other, don't try to see where He leads you, because you have no chance. Just go where He tells you to go, and you will be just fine, He takes care of you!
The rosary is so healing!! Keep on keeping on. He will be in our prayers. So glad you are walking the path God wants now.

Thank you, Bryan, for this wonderful video! Yes, the Sacrament of Reconciliation or Confession has the power to heal and liberate us from our sins, weaknesses and imperfections .... IF we confess our sins with true contrition. I am one of the many living witnesses to the power of this Sacrament of the Church! (and the other Sacraments of the Church too esp the Eucharist.) Why? Because the Holy Spirit is in the 7 Sacraments of the Catholic Church. If these 7 Sacraments of the Catholic Church are just man-made, the Holy Spirit is not in them, therefore, they have no power to heal and liberate us from sin and transform us into christlike. But so many catholics have been healed and liberated from their sins and weaknesses and have become holy, wise, strong, virtuous and christlike because of the proper reception of the 7 Sacraments of the Catholic Church. Praise be to God!
When I read the book of St. Alphonsus that has title Sacrament of Penance, I found out through private revelation that there were people who were damned because of bad or sacrilegious confession or they deliberately did not confess one or more mortal sins that they committed and remembered. That's why I did not confess right away. But I prayed many rosaries first to ask God to give me the grace and courage to make a good, sincere and honest confession and with true contrition for all my sins or to confess all my sins that I committed and remembered honestly and sincerely. After praying a certain number of rosaries, God gave me sufficient strength to confess all my sins that I remembered with honesty, sincerity and true contrition. Praise God!
Amen, that's why it's also called the Sacrament of healing.
The protestant or bible alone churches are the TRUE man-made religion. They attack the 7 Sacraments of the Catholic Church thats why the behavior of anticatholics is not christlike but satanlike because they have no Sacraments like the Sacraments of Confession, Eucharist etc. The catholic church and the sacraments of sedes are man-made also thats why NO sedes have become holy.

I recited the Rosary daily for almost 6 yrs.
Last yr I experienced difficulty in praying; I persevered but the "difficulty" increased
and when I got home from church I smashed my crucifix.........and don't know why.
All these yrs and no progress.
I still go to confession and receive Communion the trad way and not on the hand.
I guess not all of us get healed.
I do small prayers and s.times the rosary but only now and then because I do detect the "difficulty" and keep it short.
Have you gone to counseling or Spiritual counseling yet? I prayed for two decades and still needed some counseling for breakthroughs on certain things, along with reading self-help books and spiritual books. Self-help books are extremely helpful. They will show you things that you've never thought about yourself or that you needed to work on.
took me 33 years to go back to confession. took me 3 confessions over a course of a year to get it all out. I went with a list of about 45 big sins. i do feel much better. i've been free of drugs, alcohol, fornication and the lgbtq lifestyle. i still feel guilt because of what other people have accused me of and because of interpersonal human issues... but i know that is not who I am.
how do we deal with false accusations when we are sinners? how and why do these human accusations burn us so much? is it leftover guilt? is it the devil still trying to chain me up?
Exactly right! That is not who you are. Those sins and heinous things we do, that's who we are _not._ Our identity is not sin but a child of God.
We would also agree with your assessment. Many times we know who we are in God after we've been forgiven, but when people say things to us we can kind of have amnesia. It's a subconscious sometimes, subtle, fear that what they are saying is really true. Or might be true. Or we might subtly believe that's who we are deep inside even though we really don't believe it. We might be scared to go back down that road. Usually it's fear-based. That's why it's important to constantly remind yourself verbally of Who You are, of what Christ has done for you, and your identity in him. To also do good spiritual reading and fill your mind with positive holy things, and eventually those other things will fall away more and more. And people's opinions will have less hold and less sway over us more and more. Hope that helps. We love you.
Beautiful message !!!
I live in a house share with a woman.
A priest told me that I should not go to communion in any Church where I am known to other parishioners because it's the sin of slender.
Hello, thank you so much for your reply. Do you mean the sin of slander by any chance?
When I had not yet gone to confession, my remedy to combat lust was to pray the Rosary. It's effective but its efficacy is not lasting because if I did not pray the Rosary in a day, I would commit acts of lust again oftentimes. But when I went to confession and confessed my sins related to lust (and my other sins too), even if I don't pray the Rosary every day now to overcome temptatioms on lust, I still don't fall into lust. In fact I seldom pray the Rosary now or even short prayers to overcome lust and I still have not succumbed to lust despite I am still being tempted everyday on lust, sometimes, the temptation on lust is still severe. The Sacrament of Penance or Confession has healed me from lust completely and maybe permanently because I am getting even stronger against lust as the days go by. I have not committed any type of sexual sins for 9 straight months. Yes I have been perfectly chaste for 9 straight months. Praise be to God! What's my secret? My secret is .... a secret too. Charot lang !
I have read stories of people who successfully ovecame lust totally for months or even years by the grace of God but after several months or years, they relapsed and started committing the same sin or sexual sins over and over again. Why? Ask Delilah or Tom Jones (Joke!). There are many reasons why it has happened to them.
These people particularly catholics overcame lust or they became lust-free for several weeks or months or years by practicing some devotions like praying the Rosary or full rosary, going to confession frequently and Holy Mass and receiving the Holy Eucharist etc. They had resisted temptations on lust successfully but after some time, they have fallen again and again into acts of lust. Why? One of the reasons is the demons of lust that are now tempting them are high ranking demons or more powerful or most powerful demons of lust. Read Luke 11:24-26. It happened to me. When I had not yet gone to confession, I had prayed 1 rosary to overcome lust and it's effective. I had not committed acts of lust if I would pray 1 rosary in a day for that intention. Bht after some time, 1 rosary was not effective anymore because I would fall into lust even if I would pray 1 rosary per day. It's because the demons of lust that were tempting me at that time were more powerful amd more numerous. So I had prayed 2 rosaries in a day for that intention and again, I overcame those more powerful demons of lust. Effective! But after some time again, I noticed that I would still commit acts of lust even if I would pray 2 rosaries in a day Aha! It means the demons of lust that were tempting me at that time were the most powerful demons of lust and most numerous. So I decided to pray 3 rosaries every day to overcome those highest ranking demons of lust and it's effective. And when I went to confession to confess my sins including acts of lust that I committed, I seldom pray now the Rosary or even a short prayer or for many days, I have not even uttered a single prayer to overcome temptatiins on lust and I have still not fallen into lust. Praise God!
My cousin confided to me that his temptation on lust has multiplied, become more and more frequent and are getting stronger and stronger day by day thats why he told me he increased also the number of rosary that he prays everyday and he goes to Mass and receive holy communion daily. He also goes to confession frequently. I told him that the demons of lust that tempt him now are more powerful and more numerous. He agreed with me.
What have I done that made me defeat even the most numerous and most powerful demons of lust? Well, well, well ....
Here's what I have done:
You know if you still fall into a certain sin, e.g., lustful thought or mastur ... or prn, it means you are not yet totally or 100% purified from the spirit of lust or there are still some spirit of lust within you ... because if you are already 100% purified from the spirit of lust, you will not commit any type of sin related to lust anymore like lustful thoughts, mastur .. , adultery, fornication etc.
You had overcome a kind of sin when you practiced a certain devotion, e.g. praying the full rosary or going to confession frequently and receiving holy communion daily, but after some time, you noticed that despite praying the full rosary or going to confession regularly or going to Holy Mass and receiving holy communion daily etc, you still commit that sin again and again, so praying the full rosary etc are no more as effective as before. It's because the demons that tempt you now are more or most numerous/powerful.

I know what you're going through. Before my conversion to the Catholic faith, I struggled with pornography, inappropriate relationships that almost cost me the only woman I've loved. The day after my conversion was the day I quit pornography for good. The rest I quit prior to conversion. I go to confession once a month and just confess venial sins like spending too much time on social media or not showing enough love to those I talk with on social media. I like to do Catholic apologetics. For me, it was putting my complete trust in Jesus Christ. That I didn't want to keep offending Him with my sins. I will pray for the struggles you have. What kind of jokes can Catholics laugh at? I read/watch a lot of anime, manga, comics, and video games and often end up laughing at various jokes pertaining to nudity, diarrhea, farts, underwear, slapstick, swears, etc., but is it right for me to be laughing at those jokes?
A lot of those do seem to be made at the expense of female characters at times.
Sad for you. You can't be transformed because you don't have the 7 Sacraments instituted by Christ like those of the Catholic Church.
Not really. We are called to respect human dignity. Granted that animé is not reality, it can be a near occasion of sin if it leads you to sinful thoughts, or to consider other humans in a fashion which violates their dignity.
My most favorite anime was Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z. Dragon Ball GT and I stopped there. I decided to stop watching the succeeding dragon ball series because it prevents my spiritual growth or affects my spiritual life.
Hi Kakaragi, happy to see you posting! there are many jokes that you can laugh at, but we should moderate making light of people, and if it can lead you to the near occasion of sin.
