12 Years In Prison For 4 Rounds Of Ammo Accidently Left In Luggage

- Ironically, this has happened to me before. I was leaving Vegas, and TSA found a couple bullets in my carry-on bag.
The agents took the bullets and told me to be on my way.
This happened in America, where the people have the Second Amendment, and firearm ownership is extremely normal here, so it was no big deal.
But we tend to forget how unique our 2A Freedom is in this country.
Let's not fool ourselves. They're trying to make an example out of these people. It's clear as day that this was an accident.
In the United States, bullets found in security usually lead to a fine.
However, in Turks and Caicos, legislators approved a measure instituting a minimum 12-year prison term for individuals apprehended for transporting firearms or ammunition to the islands.
Recently, the U.S. government issued a cautionary advisory to tourists planning to visit the islands.
“Carefully check your luggage for stray ammunition or forgotten weapons before departing from the United States. If you bring a firearm or ammunition into TCI, even inadvertently, we will not be able to secure your release from custody,” the U.S. Embassy in Nassau warned.

The very fact that this is more a punishment than actual pedophila tells you all you need to know about the priorities in the justice system.
That's cause most of the ones who control the political landscape love them young. So it makes sense.

If TSA can’t find 4 bullets but some other country can? Then wtf did we spend billions of dollars on funding the TSA in the first place??? C’mon now America….
This is the same TSA that failed 95% of the testing, and the answer was stop testing.
4 rounds of ammunition weren't illegal in the U.S.of A. It isn't TSA's job to know your destination, he broke no US or FAA laws. Stop blaming TSA for doing something *right*.
TSA's job is the illusion of safety to get you back on planes after 9/11. Do you think there's a real difference between 3.4 oz of liquid and 4 oz that would be meaningful from a terrorist position?
TSA is a f'n joke. Just a tool of little Bush when he was an imitation president like his daddy.
I just got patted and searched because of a scanner error the other day. Of course I had no metal or anything on me. Apparently I read this happens all the time as their scanners are very inaccurate and can't seem to figure out the difference between pants and a gun. But yet when people bring actual bullets on board, this is missed? Clearly the results of another useless government organization.
If they give this guy 12 years, no American should ever go there again.
Agree…but the anti-gun liberals are more than happy that an evil person is going to lose 22 years of his life for carrying WMD in his baggage. This is just another currently crazy action by currently crazy authoritarian overlords.

@@Njazmo Yeah but common sense should apply he's clearly not trafficking with only 4 cartridges
That's awful. What is someone gonna do with a few rounds and nothing else anyway? Ridiculously asinine
Thank you
That is a crooked judge
No need to spend my hard earned vacation money in that country.
Anyone who is smart won't either
I think Britain should be sentenced to 10 years in prison
I think yalls president biden needs to do 10 years.
Shhh the picts are listening
@@thomascacioppo3785I'd take that deal. Damn good deal
@@thomascacioppo3785So do most Americans 😂
Turks has very very different laws to Britain. Gun laws in different parts of the UK and UK territories differ more than gun laws do between US states. It goes from Scotland were you need a licence for a air pistol with 1ftp of energy to the Falklands were just about anything goes.
Well said
That’s absolutely outrageous
This is why I'm always overly paranoid when traveling with a repurposed range bag...
You should be 😊. Even if you don’t get into any real trouble if they find something, you’ll still have some ‘splaining to do.
I once found 2 spent 9mm casings in my coat pocket while standing in line for security. They must have bounced in there at the range. Luckily I found them before going through the scanner.
Also, I got selected once for an enhanced security screening (in the USA), and they took swabs off my coat and luggage to scan for drugs. And they found traces of gunpowder, since I wear that coat to the range. They accepted that explanation, but not after going through everything with a fine comb. A hassle that’s best avoided.
Dedicated range bags just aren't in my budget yet. It's something I worry about while travelling.
This is ridiculous.
Their laws taking cues from New Jersey? Mere possession of a single spent casing without a gov't permission slip will get you tossed in a cage.
Americans need to boycott that island. That will hurt their economy.
Every bag or clothing I am bringing to an airport gets completely emptied out. Toss it upside down, pat down, making sure I don't have anything. Just like if I knew I was going to a court house, I make sure I don't have anything on me or in my bag that is going to ruin my day.
@OutlawTwo, it's great living in a Red state.
I missed one round in my pocket and they (LEO) found it at the metal detector.
He locked it up and told me to pick it up on my way out.
I don't care *_WHAT_** THE REASON IS!*
Anyone who gets on a commercial airliner these days is *ASKING* for trouble. Not only is the entire fleet old and ready to come apart in midair, but baggage is _LITERALLY_ treated better than customers. Add the fact that there seems to be a 'crazy' person on almost every flight and then the fact they treat you like you're a criminal before you board?
*I'll NEVER fly again!* _If I must travel, I'll drive, go by rail or take a ship._
We definitely need to invest more in rail infrastructure. I'd rather train than fly anywhere.
poor hands wrote that!
You spelled 'smart' wrong.
@@bikerbobcat "invest more in infrastructure" often is code for "more taxes." is that what you're advocating here?
@@rucker69 for the government that's code for more taxes, for him he probably would be like me and every other American and would like our taxes to be going towards things that benefit the people every now and then.
Holy Cow. TSA inspected my checked bag. First and only time. When I unpacked i found one .45 ACP round. It must have fallen in when I cleared my pistol. The sniffer must have detected the round. God bless the USA!
Boycott !
You have to use a separate bag for going to the range folks.
I do. I sterilize my bags I use for flying
Totally chicken $hit charges. C'mon, it's ammo, not the actual gun. 12 years? And TSA missed it the first time? Give this guy a pass for God's sake.
I recently flew with firearms and did so successfully because of this channel. Don’t worry about double checking your luggage to see if you packed all your toiletries, but quadruple check to make sure you’re not missing details that makes your lawful firearm transport into an illegal one. On the way back I had a pucker moment when TSA said come with me. They scanned my luggage that contained the firearm and asked what they were going to see is what they’re expecting to see. That’s when I started replaying in my mind of what and how it’s packed. In the end they said thanks, have a safe flight. For a minute though I was kinda sweating it.😂
No matter what anyone says. You are responsible for all of your guns and ammunition. and to know the laws of another country.
They have the same problem in the Virgin Islands. We were there and saw people pulling guns, over traffic arguments, but supposed to be a 100% gun free Island.
12 years for an honest mistake? This isn't justice; it's a miscarriage of it. In America, we cherish our Second Amendment rights, but elsewhere, like in Turks and Caicos, they're punishing people for simple oversights. It's crucial to remember and defend our unique freedoms, especially when traveling.
not about justice. its about LAW. this justice word needs to leave everyone's vocabulary, cause no governing body cares about JUSTICE.
The US has an identical law 18 U.S.C. 922(g)(5)(B) with 10 years imprisonment. So I guess you don't cherish foreign aliens rights that much.
@@davedavids57i don't want them here as much as i don't want to go over there
That's where we are heading, punishing the good and the bad are victims.
@@davedavids57 no way.. I never fly. Walk or drive.
This is why you use a different bag for firearms then one you would use for a family overseas vacation.
There are so many signs you have to go by when approaching security. Why would you ever put guns or ammo in regular luggage for any reason? Why wouldn't you have dedicated cases for these items?
TSA let bullets through (in at least two cases), but god forbid you try to bring some shampoo in your carry on.
More laws will DEFINITELY stop all those criminals who don't follow the laws we ALREADY have!
Wait...
US and UK should pressure for his immediate release. If not, cut ALL aid.
If you can't be a responsible gun owner, you shouldn't be allowed to.own guns. So making him a felon is great.
WTF travels with a bag they also use for the range? This is ridiculous either way, hope this guy gets home soon.
