Interesting about the audiotechnica cart. For my secondary system, I just got a 500 cart with an upgraded shinbata stylus that I'm gonna upgrade further to a RigB body soon... supposed to make it better than a 700 body... rumor is only the body/shell is the only difference between the 500 and 700, uses the same energizer otherwise... but idk for sure 🤷‍♂️. Sounds pretty good as is... was debating on SCL vs a microline at somepoint to have a different sound option or two... forums also can be disappointing, I understand your concerns there. Keep up the good work and content.

Sorry to hear about the customer that flaked out on you. I think requiring a deposit up front is totally reasonable and I'd fully expect to pay 50% or even a 100% for a fully customized build.

Regarding your comments about improving the quality of your stereo system. When I started doing this sort of thing in the early '70 as a kid I noticed exactly what you are talking about. Every component upgrade showed the weakness in another component or source material.
I read a funny (at least to me) article on the Internet, so take this with a grain of salt. The company name PSVANE was supposed to be PAVANE, pronounced Pah Vane. That is how it is pronounced by the company in China, apparently. However, when the registration documents were filed for the company in English, someone made a typo and the error was not noticed until it was too late.

I empathise with your views on dishonest people. I cannot stand dishonesty.
As for the DIY site - that is crazy! Can't they see that you are trying to help people??

I know, that makes zero sense. 100% one of the jealous haters on the forum reported me.

Hope Dolly gets better and keep it Real and True to yourself. Tell it like it is and never back down to the WWW idiots out there. Looking forward to your builds and product testing.

    Deposits 100% make sense
I hope you have a great Vet as that makes dealing with dog/cat health issues so much better
I did catch that mastering video you linked which was interesting
I use the 740 ML as it has an aluminum housing and seems like a good MM but I would like to get the 760 SLC at some point in the future.
As usual great content on the Monday Monologue

The computer simulation sounds great 😆😂 i certainly don't understand the etiquette on some of those forums. A lot of misreable hateful people everywhere. Hope Dolly dog feels better. I love my doggie too.

Aww best wishes to Dolly dog, may I just say that I have great results from the Hana high output mc cart , I also use and more often the Sumiko pearl, simply outstanding mm cart for £100 !! My phono stage is one of the les Carpenter's yaqin ms23b swap out boards albeit I bought the bare board and made my own chassis, hopefully you have heard about this ? I would highly recommend looking into these boards vs ear834p board , speaking of vinyl well right now Amazon is selling pink floyd dsotm live 1973 on 180g for just £14.99 It's the best I've ever heard of this album !!
May I also ask, do you still use your blueglow kt88 ? I built your kt120 Monoblocks and will not part with them but find myself turning on my blueglow maybe more often, I built it exactly as Mark did and its just superb with my Klipsch chorus 2 , loving everything Skunkie and thank you for everything you do for us lot ❤️

Thanks a lot for sharing so much. It definitely gives some great pointers. Talking about interviews, we got pretty lucky lately on YT. I highly recommend the Rick Beato interview of music producer Brendan O'Brien (Pearl Jam, Red Hot, Rage Against the Machine, The Black Crowes, Stone Temple Pilots...). It's not really technical topics but awesome stories about the hits he produced.
Regarding the deposits, do not hesitate. I have sent film cameras to very reputable repair techs and they most charge deposits these days given the lead times.

Everything I buy online has to be paid for 100% up front, same when I go to the store, buy gas, whatever, that's the way business is done.
You're not a bank, if a customer needs financing that's up to them to arrange before they pay you. I think you should require full payment up front, before you even start a build.
You're making these fine amps by hand, they are well worth waiting for.

My best wishes to Dolly. Poor thing, I hope she'll get well soon. I am jealous of that Denon DL301 MC cartridge - it is not available on the European market. I thought you were actually taking deposits for the builds, that would be obvious for me - yours is not a warehouse type online store, so you should definitely take non-refundable deposits to cover your worktime.

I know of a part time-blacksmith who stopped doing custom work a lomg time ago. Whenever he has new products done he puts them on his website and they sell instantly. No time-consumig comms with potential customers who can't make their mind up...

no @Skunkie Designs Electronics - you require 100% of the purchase, period. Don't get burned ever again. If client really is serious, they will pay 100%. For instance, I paid China HiFi 100% inc. the shipping to get my R8 back in 2019 sight (and sound) unseen, but mostly because i am serious buyer. Please, only 100% deposit!!

I didn't ship the amp. I just built it to their specs and have learned my lesson not to start the build without a deposit.

@@SkunkieDesignsElectronics I guess the point I was making to you is only accept 100% payment as client's commitment to their special order from you - believe me you'll sleep better forever
