I have the as2200 and before I had the 1100. Amazing amps. I recently ordered the m5000 and the c5000. I believe it matches so well with my ATC smc40. Looks like the market perception on Yamaha is way bellow what Yamaha deliveres. To me they are on par with Luxman and accuphase.

The meters on the Yamaha are also switchable between Peak and VU. The headphone jack has up to +12 dB gain which helps with planars, and it has a very good MM/MC phono preamp. The A-S3200 is a keeper, and I sure hope it holds up since I'm retired now and have it running every day, and most up to fourteen hours.
Oh, and I'm glad to see you finally took the Advance Paris amp off of the top of the Yamaha. That was annoying the hell out of me, lol.

Good amp I think. Yamaha always put a very capable power supply in their integrated amps given the power rating quoted. The styling is on point too. I have a few vintage yamaha pieces and some new hear eg the AS 1000. It's a very robust amp given its rating. They love putting big caps in the design where it counts. The C5000 pre and power amps sound great but they are sadly out of my reach. The C 5000 is the first preamp since 1997 when the CX 1 was made.. I have one and love it.

I would love for you to compare the sound signature and build quality of the "all-in-one" two channel units in the $4k and under range for both two channel high-end audio and two channel TV audio. I liked Accuphase’s bass and ups and mids of Yamaha. To get both, I’d buy Yamaha and use those awesome tone controls to boost the bass a bit 😊. Yamaha sounded more like a clearer pane of glass and more liquid and Accuphase more warm. This Yamaha voicing confuses folks giving them a false impression that it is lean in the bass but that is just the way they naturally voice it. Just bumping the bass will offer more bass without changing the sound.

The reason the tweeter has several different names is because it’s been patented in several variations. I think at least 3 types maybe more. So yea. It keeps being made better especially compared to the first type. They can actually get really expensive and sound REALLY good.

Hy guys! A few months ago I changed amplifiers, choosing this one that I consider (for the moment?!?) "definitive" for my personal needs and budget.
My loudspeakers are currently B&W CM6 S2s: floorstanding loudspeakers (I know, a bit old-fashioned) that I think are the right type for my listening room (a living room of about 16/18 sqm). They were my first speakers (bought used) and I am now used to their sound and the "magic" that is created when I hear voices and mid-high frequencies (no doubt thanks to the decoupled tweeter).
These speakers sounded very good with my previous amplifier, a Musical Fidelity M3si, but with the new Yamaha, although they definitely show more "authority" and body, on some tracks I use as a test, they reveal a "tinny" sound in the mid-high frequencies (for example, on some female voices or on some wind instruments).
I was going to replace and upgrade the speakers anyway. But which ones? My budget was between 3 and 4 thousand euros.
I had a clear idea about the amplifier and I consider myself satisfied with the purchase.
But I don't know about the speakers. I think the type of stand is the right one for my environment (and the apartment building) and also for the fact that it is impossible for me to listen to music at high volume.
In combination with the Yamaha, various sources recommend "warm sounding" speakers, and on paper I seem to have identified a model that might be right for me: the Opera Callas.
On the other hand, a longtime audiophile tells me that if I like the B&W sound, I can safely turn to the new 7 Series.
What would you recommend? Maybe the WHARFEDALE Elysian that you have tried?
    Thanks again.

I've been a Yamaha fan since the A-1000 back in the mid 80's. It is interesting that the A-S3200 is rated at only 100W/ch @ 8 ohms at it's price point (I think that even the A-1000 was rated at 120W/ch @8). In looking at Yamaha's documentation, the A-S3200 definitely has an impressive build quality. I also found it interesting that the Spendors gave you more of a live sound over the Klipsch. That was somewhat surprising - I'm wondering if that would persist with different source material (e.g. rock, classical, etc.). Thanks for connecting to the Klpisch Cornwalls and comparing it against the Accuphase - Accuphase vs. Yamaha seems like a really interesting comparison. Just from what could be discerned from the UA-cam audio, the Accuphase seemed to have a fuller, richer sound. Very impressive. It would be interesting to hear it with a different source like we used to use the old stereo shops of the 70'2 and 80's like Steely Dan's Asia or Gaucho.

I have a 2200 in my bedroom with some vintage JBL l96 and Gustard r26 dac. I also have vintage Marantz separates in my living room witth l100 classics and a class A Vincent with Forte's. Thing about Yamaha is it has balanced inputs to balanced outputs in my Dac and is definitly feels and looks the most high end of all my amps with very satisfying controls, clicks and relays. Its great for voices and the fantastic midrange and bass of the vintage JBLs. So clear that loudness isn't needed, very lively and sounds more powerful than 90 watts.
The good phono stage makes it practical too. Tone contols work well but don"t change basic character maybe is a liitle analytical but probably the most neutral of all my amps. As mentioned, setting tone controls in middle takes them completely out of the circuite which is nice for purists but I'm a sound contouring kind of guy which is why I also like vintage. If Yamaha had mid control like my Marantz it would be the perfect modern vintage amp with best of both worlds!

@@steveallen489 i think you already notice trhe superiority of sound quality even in the lowest referencies from till 1979 componenmts mainly amplifiers or receivers ,my father colected hi-fi and my family was very musical so i ketp equipment not only from my father, grandfather, also cousin´s and uncle´s ,today i own a lot of very good equipment and no till today amplifiers or receivers have the quality of some top end systems i have like a Yamaha bought in 71 that i only have the pre-amplifier and a later power amplifier also a 71 turntable ,it all sounds amazing with some JBL speakers (studio monitors) and turntables that i have a lot of them some with original cartridges in use sound a lot better than very expensive turntables and cartridges but a huge diference as cd players today said to be very good , none is better than my 90´s or late 80´s cd player i bought or others ofered to me, today prices with no quality components are excessive and a huge diference for past components ,as a example some dac for sale around 500€ are ridiculous if one wants ,change the internal DAC that with the same or above quality with instalation instead of 700€ or a bit less if asked to install a new one on the cd player you´re using it costs from 30€ to at the most 70€ but spending 500€ while you got the same or better sound by spending 40€ it´s just ridiculous to not refer the building quality of this new cd players , i bought a Rega in 96 ,today it works but it looks like trash while others from the 80´s like a PD-7100 from pioneer that was heavy used it still looks new since 1986 and doble the hours of use compared to the Rega

Did you guys realise your video is 31 min long but we had to forward it to the 22nd min before there was any music?
Love you guys but, really, we have ears. We prefer the music to do its own talking. LOL
IMO, the A3200 isn't a hifi kit. Next.

@@ThatGuyWithTheBeard so did you actually test in different sizes of rooms or spaces to validate your answer? Don’t get me wrong, I’m not trying to question you. I have a basement that I’m planning to convert as my music room and your answer might help in my decisions as far as buying or selecting my amps. However, your answer didn’t sound convincing, at least from how you sounded. It was not very concrete.

@@ThatGuyWithTheBeard i have 40 square meters listening room (c-1 and B-1 from yamaha)and 54 square meters living room for guests with a second system ,the sound flows perfect, no reverb(exclusiven by Pioneer both brands 70´s components mixed with more recent sources(Cd player ,DAT and Minidisc)both have also cassette decks and reel decks from the time of release but good as any best 90´s deck and never recorded anything with dolby as i never had hiss neither reels or cassettes, maybe because i do the regular maintenance as in the manuals comes explained ,including demagnatised heads
