lol i have a good one
once me and my fiance were having dinner and these old women passed by us and spoke in my native language saying "oh look how nowadays these young people get to walk around together and go outside without any engagement attached" she said it in such a rude tone so i turned and flashed her the ring and winked at them and the look on their faces was such a beautiful sight.

I'm half Afrikaans and half English. My Afrikaans side of the family is aware that I have been raised in English, but because of this they assume that I understand little to no Afrikaans, I cant speak it very well but I can understand almost everything. So an Afrikaans family member (I don't know the relation, this was a family reunion and I had no choice but to go) she started talking shit about me and my dad(who is English) about how he forced my mom to raise me in English and that he is going to force my mom to raise my little sister in English (who was a few months old at the time) this woman then proceeded to call my father many rude names and said that "this English kid" might as well not be here, that because I didn't speak her language, I wasn't even a part of her family. I tugged the woman's sleeve and she turned to look at me with a innocent face and said in English "Hello sweetie, can I help you?" I proceeded to say "First off, I can understand Afrikaans perfectly well, second, my mom is the one who chose to raise my sister and I in my father's mother tounge and lastly, I wouldn't want to be related to a woman like you who can trash talk a kid and her family." she turned red and stomped off like she was my age at the time;10 years old. I'm now 17 and I still laugh when I think about her face 😂

Was at a chinese nail salon, I was a freshman at the time and had taken chinese classes since kindergarten. So I’d say I was pretty fluent. Now the thing is, I’m Mexican. But I’m very pale. So I literally look pasty white. Getting my nails done, this group of chinese people come in WITH THEIR DOG(???) into the salon, they’re waiting and they’re making comments about me in chinese since I was the only one in the salon at the time. I get done, pay, and as I walk out, I look over to them and say “ I like your dog, he’s cute” in fluent chinese. The look on their face was p r I c e l e ss

I also have a funny one
so I grew up speaking 2 languages, Latvian as my native and Russian as a second language cause here about 30% of the population is Russian so a pretty needed language.
this happened about 2 years ago when my looks were quite "emo" and I was wearing dark heavy makeup. one day when I was on a bus, there were two old Russian ladies sitting right in front of me. a minute before I was speaking with my friend on the phone who doesn't know Russian so I didn't use any Russian words with her in the conversation which I usually do a lot. so after that, they both assumed that since I was speaking without an accent I must not know Russian since the younger generation doesn't really bother learning it. they started to comment on my looks. how badly dressed I was, how I am ruining my hair with hair dye (pink), how my makeup made me look like a prostitute etc. all this time I was looking out of the window trying to think of a way to make them feel embarrassed. so I just called my mum and started to ask her about that day and her plans. when they heard me speaking (mind that I don't have an accent either) they just looked at each other embarrassed and tbh it made me feel good. I got off at the next stop and almost burst out laughing.

I don't speak multiple languages (I can recognize the language based on pronunciation though), but I had a writing teacher that insulted me in Spanish. I asked her why she was saying that about me, but she switched to a different language instead. She knew English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, and Russian. Each time I asked her why kept insulting me; she finally switched back to English before asking how did I know what she was saying. I told her that since I couldn't hangout with friends, I had been studying other languages to pass time; and the first thing I studied was curse words and insults. She didn't insult me or anyone in my class in front of me and my 2 friends again.

Not my story but it's about a friend of mine.
He and his big brother(and family) went to Japan for his 15th birthday as a surprise because he and his brother were huge weebs. Because they watched so much anime they both picked up some Japanese. His brother pretty much spoke it normally at that point but my friend spoke with a heavy Israeli accent so no could understand what he was saying(basically could understand the language but couldn't really speak it properly).
So 2 teenaged girls walk by them and talk about how my friend is cute. When they were about to part ways his brother said in Japanese something among the lines like "my brother is single call him" and both the girls and my friend were bright red and when my friend came back he was floating with confidence for a month until he stalled down. Probably the funniest month of my life.
Also just realised that a lot of those stories are from Israeli people. Guess my nation is good at picking up languages

Yes you can. I've been watching anime for a long time now and although I can't really speak it I understand quite a lot of Japanese. I imagine if someone was actually trying to learn or was just better at picking up languages than me, he/she could manage to become fluent in it.

When I was staying in Las Vegas at Circus circus, I was in the elevators with my mom, with a huge Hispanic family shoved in with us. I don’t personally know much Spanish, but my mom grew up in Mexico for a few years. Keep in mind we are white, like COMPLETELY white. One of the Hispanic ladies said in Spanish, “Look at those crackers. They probably think they’re better than everyone because they’re white.” And one of the younger ladies said “I agree” so then my mom laughed, (I had no idea why) and as we were about to walk out, my mom said, “I don’t think I’m better than you because I’m white, I think I’m better than you because I don’t talk shit about people I don’t know.” In Spanish. The lady was in shock, looked over at the younger girl, and said “omg..” and that’s it. When we left I asked my mom what they said and we started laughing for hours because of the ladies face afterwards! 😂

    When you're multi-lingual story:
    Pre-note: probably badly told
My first language is English, but I was born in Thailand, so I understand it really well it can't speak it without sounding like a child. At this point in time, I was in either 4th or 5th grade. My best friend, who is thai, and I would talk to each other in thai sometimes, but otherwise, the other people at my table group didn't know I understood it.
Ok, so, I'm here sitting at our lunch table at school, casually eating my soup while listening in to the current drama that's going on. They switch to Thai, and continue on with the conversation. So far so normal. At one point, one of them starts talking about the non-thai speakers at our table, and how we're all idiots who probably up working as factory workers. Ok, could be worse, right? I continue eating my noodles in my soup. They continue to get worse, with the friend starting to accuse my Indian friend of being marked by a demon because of the marking on her forehead (very common for her religion) I was about to tell them off before they mentioned my mother, so I decided to listen in on this comment before leaving. My mom has a rare condition that causes pressure to build up behind her eyes, and even with treatment, she will gradually become blind, or if it spreads, bedridden early. "You know how this dumb American girl-" I'm european "probably has lied about her mom too, her mom seems just fine. She probably just wants us to care about her with her interesting made up stories and pay for her stuff all the time. So what if her mom dies or something" another friend nodded, but the others we're abit bothered. I on the other hand, was FURIOUS. I stood up with my empty bowl, took my Indian friend by the hand, and told the girl (in english) "I'd like to hear more about this dumb American girl, huh? I'd love to see you trying to go blind for a day though. Wouldn't you?" Then in thai I said, "you female dog" (อีเหี้ย) and left with my Indian friend.
Later I heard from my Thai bestie that the girl badmouthing us was shocked, and didn't realize what I said until my bestie told her I understood everything.
That girl never sat at our table again, and everyone was happy because she made everyone uncomfortable. I still haven't told my Indian friend what they said about her though.
    If you read here, congratulations!

I have a great one, I can start off by saying I am from Norway so I ofc speak Norwegian and as most Norwegians, we understand Swedish and Danish to some extent,
it works both ways, well I also happen to understand Russian to some Not fluently but I can get around, I Was eating out with my Father and my sister, and some Russians walked into the Resturant,
They were in their early 30s late 20s, They where From a ship that had docked in our town port, and they were talking on their table about how great my sister looked, My sister, is a great looking 20 years old at the time, and found it funny, my dad that knows I can understand Russian asked me what they where up to, and I said it was about how they liked my sister, he laughed thought it was funny too, I manage to pick up during your stay at the restaurant that one of the sailors (or whatever) was a fiance to a sister to another man at their table and they were out eating and celebrating for the occasion, so when I left with my father and my sister, I when over to the Fiance at the table and congratulated him in Russian and had to break the news my sister was taken to the other men there, and they all died laughing.

My story: I live in a country that speaks French as a native language. Since my perants and I are English I go to a international school to learn in English. In this school there's a mix of locals and foreigners. Since I lived here my whole life I speak french. So at the beginning of the year there was two new girls that came to the school. The were natives and I could tell they didn't really like me for some reason. Then for the next three months every time I walked by them they talked shit and insulted me in French thinking I didn't understand, they called me all sorts of thing. After three months of this I had had enough. So one day i spoke to my friends in French right in front of them, the look on there faces were priceless. They said in shock "wait you speak frnech" and I said "oui"😂. From that day they always avoid me in the corridor.

We were in Austria last year, came to our Hotel's dinner, and this lady (who probably thought that I'm from Austria/Germany, since I learned like one sentence and managed to have a somewhat believable accent) started talking shit about us- meaning me, mom and dad- for bringing our dog with us. The waitress and even one of the cooks were 100% ok with us having our dog as long as she doesn't make a mess, since she's really small and behaves good (we met the cook last day and he spent about 10 minutes patting the dog, so he knew she had no problem around strangers).
Anyway, this giant whale with clothing that wouldn't fit even me at a table next to us starts complaining about us (mainly me, since I was the one holding the dog). She starts using curse words and spends about 5 minutes ranting about it. About a meter from us. I have been learning English for 5 years at that point and my dad was an English teacher a few years back.
We weren't even that mad, we just started laughing our asses off after the first few seconds, and had to explain everything to my mom, who didn't understand them.

My dog was born with a missing growth plate, it doesn’t hurt him. He could get surgery, but the odds of it working are very small, so he just has a bent leg.
Well once we were standing line for something, my sister was holding scouts (our dog) leash. He was happy sniffing all the new people and things, and the lady’s behind us grew very fond of scout. But then later we herd one say to the other, “they must not take very good care of their dog. The poor things leg is broken.” Then my sister turns around and says, “actually, he was born with a missing growth plate in is left leg and there is nothing we can do. But it doesn’t hurt him.” The lady turned red from embarrassment, but it was really funny.😂

One of my classmates in college talked about a time she took a trip to France with her mother. While she didn't speak French her mother was fluent. They went to a restaurant, and during their visit two waitresses stood by their table talking to each other in French. The classmate didn't think anything of it until her mother suddenly spoke to them politely in French, and the waitresses looked mortified. Her mother later told her that the waitresses were talking about them very negatively in French, but were so confident that the classmate and her mother, as American tourists, couldn't understand them that they stood beside their table to make their negative remarks.

A few years back in school, we were starting to learn mandarin, chinese. It was the beginning of the year and the mandarin teacher called me back after school. I don't think I look very asain, but apparently, I do, a lot of people think i'm from china, at first glance. Anyway, teacher called me back in, and started talking about the extension program, the school offers for student who already know mandarin. I was really confused, and asked her, what? She replied, with no evidence that I spoke this language, "you speak mandarin, don't you?". I said no, and she kind of embarrassingly laughed it off and said I looked asian. I didn't really take offense to it, it was just kind of funny.

I hear one ask the other in Chinese ,” how much was this again?” And the presumably owner says,” it’s supposed to be ¥70 but charge the dumb Mexican ¥120” the worker nods and turns back and says,” ¥120” I say,” one sec in English and pretend to answer the phone. Then I say,” she me? Ni yi Jin dao le? Wo Chong Dian bao ha mei mai ne!” Aka what? Your already here? I haven’t bought the portable charger yet! Then I hung up and promptly said in perfect chinese,” ¥55 take it or leave it”
    They took it.
*story 2* I was hanging out with a friend when two elder Latina ladies bumped into us and knocked down my bag and stalked off saying,” estupido putas” which means stupid bitches when I went to get my bag I realized that one had dropped her phone. An idea popped into my head. I ran up with her phone and handed it to her saying in perfect Spanish,” you left this. I’m returning it even after you called me a stupid bitch. When we arrive, we get off the train, and then I let them know that I understood them by telling them「我父が変なったら、お前等死ねばいいや」(if my dad's weird, then you can just die). All were from the US, and as they sat in the back I could overhear their conversation, which was in English. Basically they were roasting every person that got on or off the bus, calling one a disgusting, fat cow, ridiculing the way people were dressed, making fun of their hair, laughing about how poor people are here, etc. When my stop came I stood up, walked over to them and in English cheerfully said "Hi! I overheard all of your conversation! I'm from the States too. Northeast Ohio. Hope you enjoy your stay here, have a nice day." Their jaws DROPPED. One got all red in the face. But none of them said a word back. I got off the bus and walked away laughing.

Around 4 months after i arrived, i went to this bakery-coffee shop with the other exchange student in my town and her french friends (they hated me because when i had just met them i couldn't speak french at all so i would communicate in English with this girl but by the time this happened my french was pretty good, they just didn't know because they would never talk to me). One girl asks something about me along the lines of "does she even speak french" and this other girl says (in a really rude way) "i have no idea, I'm sure she doesn't even understands us", so i answer with a really good accent "yeah, i speak french and i understand, i just don't bother talking to y'all" (they had been really rude and mean with me for the past four months)

Im Latino so I can speak both english and spanish well, but I don't look Mexican. I was playing tennis after school with my friend (who is American but had taken spanish since he was in first grade) and some group of 7th graders (my friend and I were in 8th) asked if they would borrow our ball. After a while, we were going to go home, so I ask them if I could have my ball back but they just toss it back and forth to each other not letting us have it. One of them says in spanish "No dejes que agarre la pelota" (dont let him take the ball) and at this I get mad and tell him, "Y porque no si esa pelota es mia?" (and why not, if that ball is mine?) Then my friend also in spanish says, "Denle su pelota" (give him his ball) the look on their faces were hilarious. In the end, I went up to the one that had the ball and took it from him. A few feet away, we walked away laughing. They didn't talk to us for the rest of the school year.

My brother orders a drink that's essentially sprite and fermented lemon. One women says that they don't have anymore sprite, so they would just use the sprite can they one of them was drinking. My uncle heard all this and scolded them for horrible service, and left, with us trailing behind, and the women looking shocked (and on the verge of tears due to the scolding).
My uncle is not like this on a daily basis, but his family is family.

how is it stolen content? people who post on reddit are putting there posts into the public and probably know it can be used in these types of videos.

I always here things in the three languages I know. Since the people talking are strangers and are not addressing me anyway, even if they are talking about me, I just ignore them. Why would I care what complete strangers say about me in any language? They are nothing to me.

A couple days ago, while I was in South Spain for holidays (still am) it was so hot they had to water the grass every damn day. Well once I was walking over the grass (there was a hidden muddle,) and I stepped in it. I then proceeded to signal to a Spanish couple that did not speak English for tissue. They looked at me as if they thought I Shit myself, as the mud was on my ass area 😂😂😂

    I have one too:
I recently shifted schools and ppl weren’t the nicest. I was in English class sitting with a girl who likes to rather speak my native than English (everyone knows English very well) and I am more comfortable speaking in English even tho I can speak pretty good in my native, so I was just sitting and I heard her say something rude I don’t remember what . And then I said in English “u realise I speak *native* right?” She kinda blushed and was making excuses and was like “what u do know?.” I was like in my native “uh yea”

was in a brittish restaurant in london, they probably heard us speaking dutch. they came to take our order trying their best to articulate everything loudly. i cleared my throat and in my best brittish accent i gave her our orders. the flustered face made it worth it.

A group of three people were inside one of the shops at a mall. I was in my weeb phase and had been taking classes to learn Japanese. The group were making fun of the store and the people in it in japanese. when they started mocking my friend who was with me, I looked at them and remember thinking something like "They think we're stupid don't they?" before I muttered "shut up." in Japanese. I had just learned it that week and me being the 12 year old weeb i was at the time wanted to show off. They seemed embarrassed and left soon after.
I have more with other languages, but i feel like thats one people would enjoy since I actually said something, and that I was a completely cringe worthy child at the time.

    i have a beautiful one
so I’ve learnt finnish from one of my best friends who lives in Finland for about three years now. last year we met. best experience of my life, but i have a stereotypically british face shape and of course my accent. i went to a store and I was talking to that friend in English, and then a group of guys said(in Finnish): “fucking british tourists, they probably drink tea!”
i could only pick out about half of it and my friend told me the rest.
so i replied with saying the first ten lines of the bee movie script in Finnish. the most beautiful moment of my entire life. me and my friend immediately told the rest of our online friend group as soon as we got back to their apartment. they were proud of us.
