I love that in v4 you can hear her BREATHE in-between bars it's so cool!
I had no idea and it's the coolest shit ever, it really gives emotion to the voice!!!!!!
Dude, it gives more realisim and really draws you into the song! It gives off so much emotion
I know this is old, but I did wanna point out that breaths have actually been around since V1! Not many people know, but the V1 breath phonemes were [*in] and [*out] and only Meiko and Kaito have them. I don't have Meiko, but I will say that on Kaito it's super soft and you have to jack around with the gain of the tracks to make it sound loudly at all, haha... (I wonder if rendering the track first might help though?)
strivetobestrider she sounds more human in V4 and I love it
late but literally the first thing you hear in world is mine (the v2 song) is a breath
I think it's hard to compare the versions properly because people and producers tune differently...
I think that too riwxify :S ... maybe make a VSQ and play all voice with that ~ ^^
@@madzi9574 Which is really damn stupid if you are a Vocaloid user yourself and are aware of how mixing can change the voice.
It would also help to use the same song

The engrish is strong with this one.
Shes doing her best!
The "engrish" caught me off guard,my brain is slowly melting
Just had flashbacks about kiku from hetalia

Liu En Xin we all know that Miku is self aware.
@Liu En Xin they are doing their best then.
In my humble opinion they would have been better off using Luka.
The art for append soft looks like gumi disguised as miku
Kinky Cereal lmao true
Shhhhhhhh don’t blow her cover

@@p0lyblank oh damn
Shout out if you'll never 4get V2 Miku
Gotta love that slight glitches in her voice
Tbh her append v2 sounds much better than v4. I miss her, shes hard to find now:
You know, there's one V2 Miku song called Unfragment that sounds incredibly realistic. The English parts aren't that good, but they dont really take you out of the song at all, and the normal Japanese lyrics sound almost real.
No, i WONT
Mako Matoi v2 us actually my fav
Though I like the video, I would love to see the same song used, to get a better comparison
preferably the same tuner as well!!
Yes !!!
@@bonhll8070 omg yes, thats what i thought this video was gonna do
It's not exactly a comparison video tbh-
ua-cam.com/video/3-mz9WR50CU/v-deo.html something like this?
Okay but Deep Sea Girl is freakily human
That's what they wanted her V4 VB to act as a human
Because she's breathing in between the lyrics
so is rolling girl there's realistic vibrato and it's so cool
& Snow Princess
loved the dark version. it sounded like she's real matured 16 years old more proper XD.
If you think 16 year olds are mature I have some news for you, hahah. Just kidding, I understand what you mean.
Hedda Aurora um...you haven’t met enough🤷🏽♀️
@@darkx6869 I'm surrounded by 16 year olds, me included. But it was halfway a joke... halfway😂
I agree. She sounds her age.
Append dark sounds like Luka a bit
Here's an arrangement of Miku's versions and brief description:
V2
V2 Appends (Dark, Soft, Solid, Vivid, Sweet, Light)
V3
V3 Appends (Same as V2)
V3 English (hard to use)
V4ß
V4X Appends (Dark, Soft, Solid, Sweet)
V4X English (Improved)
V4C (Chinese)
The original V2 release had an impact as it was the only voicebank at the time of release that didn't even try to sound human, though it did have some voice glitches like whenever she sings in low notes she sounds like her nose is clogged, also her higher notes are too high in decibels so it can grate your ears, Last Night Good Night is an example. Even so Miku's initial release changed the direction of Vocaloid into a much more open market instead of just aiming for Professional users.
Then Crypton decided to add more expression to Miku's voice, so V2 Append was released, making Miku the first Vocaloid to receive an Append Voicebank.
Her V2 Appends were a step up in voice quality and variety, but since the Kagamine Appends outsold and overshadowed Miku's Appends a few months later, it led to somewhat lukewarm reactions from users and the fanbase, but since then her Appends are getting more attention, especially her Dark Append.
Her Dark Append is a mellow and hollow sounding voice, perfect for ballads and slow songs, and is probably considered as the best in the Append Package, Soft was served as a bridge to "Sweet" which is Miku's softest voicebank and very versatile as it can reach a large range of tempos. Solid is Miku's most loudest and powerful voice in the entire package, and can be used for more harder sounding songs that utilizes her powerful voice, Vivid and Light on the other hand is more of the cheerful sounding voicebanks in the package, with Light sounding more brighter and Vivid which is more in the softer sounding area of the two.
Miku V3 came out a few years later, which improved and fixed most of what plagued the original V2 release, though it's noted that she sounds less expressive at the cost of being smoother compared to her V2.
The distinction between the V2 and V3 appends is that the Dark append in V3 sounds less breathy and more smoother when transitioning, also applies to the other appends which are much smoother in V3 than V2.
Miku V4 was then released in 2016, which not only improved from her V3, but added more expression in her voice which was lacking in V3 (without editing).
The V4 Appends on the other hand only updated Dark, Solid, Soft and Sweet and left Vivid and Light behind which is a damn shame cuz those 2 were my favorites ;-; but anyways her appends are even more refined and tuned to sound pleasing in the ears, not realistic in human terms but more pleasant sounding.
Then comes Miku's English Voicebanks.
Miku V3 English is probably one of the most hardest English VB to use, because Crypton rushed her release since English Vocaloids were on a rise in demand, she is difficult to tune and make can't the phonemes comprehensible without meticulous editing, only a few managed to make her sound understandable because of the learning curve required.
Her V4 English was improved as Crypton actually managed to make her sound like her Original Japanese VB, and fixed most of her problems like the difficult tuning and phoneme editing, though she still has some quirks her V4 English update is vastly improved compared to her mess of a V3.
I don't know much about her V4C because I was too busy by the time she was released so I'm gonna do some digging on it, what's funny though is that her V4C's design has more hair than her V4X lol
Correct me if I made some mistakes, I only know these based on what I've heard in her VBs and maybe a few wiki searches here and there.
I'd love to see you making a description of Miku NT

I never found solid quite that impressive. I guess I've just never heard it used right. I think the best append is Vivid, which sucks because people tend to forget it exists.

As somebody who owns a lot of Miku’s voicebanks, I feel it necessary to clarify some things. There’s a lot of confusion and misinformation in this video. Miku V4 and her V4x aren’t separate voicebank packages. Her Japanese VOCALOID4 package is just called “V4x”, there is no separate package just called “V4”. She also has no “V4x” English, while the demo video might be a bit confusing since it still uses the promotional logo for her Japanese V4x package, her English is just “V4 English”. “V4x” is in reference to Crypton voicebank packages which have EVEC capability - notice that Luka English and the Kagamine English voicebanks are also called “V4” on their product pages, and do not have EVEC functionality. Miku only has one English voicebank for the VOCALOID4 software. Same applies her Chinese voicebank, it’s not V4x, and it either referred to as just “V4 Chinese”, or sometimes “V4C”. Her Chinese voicebank also never had a beta that was publicly released, the song _you_ played was probably the Beta of her original Japanese V4x voicebank; I realize it’s Vietnamese, and you commented on it, but that is _definitely_ not her Chinese voicebank singing that song; Chinese voicebanks don’t have very good pronunciation for languages like Vietnamese, or most other languages that aren’t Chinese for that matter, and her Chinese voicebank also has a very distinctly different sound - being a lot more synthesized than other her voicebanks, with a lighter tone and much heavier engine noise than her other voicebanks. I’m pretty positive it’s one of her Japanese voicebanks singing the Vietnamese song, and I’m pretty positive it’s her V4x Japanese Beta specifically, which _did_ have a Beta released.
So just to be ABSOLUTELY clear, these are _all_ the standard releases Miku has had ( barring weird examples like “Pocket Miku” and so forth ):
VOCALOID2:
Hatsune Miku(V2) ( aka her original voicebank )
Hatsune Miku Append
- ( required purchasing the original voicebank to use )
*Includes the following voicebanks
- Soft
- Sweet
- Dark
- Solid
- Vivid
- Light
VOCALOID3:
Hatsune Miku English V3
- ( her V3 English released slightly before her V3 Japanese ).
Hatsune Miku V3
- Mostly consisted of updates to her Append voicebanks. More specifically, her V3 package includes an “Original” voicebank, which was seemingly based on new recordings meant to imitate the tone of the original VOCALOID2 vocal, as well as updates to the Soft, Sweet, Dark, and Solid voicebanks, which still used the old recordings from the VOCALOID2 voicebanks, but had triphones added for better performance.
Hatsune Miku Light & Vivid V3
- Since they were not included in the original V3 release, Crypton later updated the Light and Vivid voicebanks, and sold them individually on their store. They are still purchasable, though hard to find on Crypton’s website, and fairly expensive for single voicebanks.
VOCALOID4:
Hatsune Miku V4X
- To reiterate what I said before, there is no “Hatsune Miku V4” Japanese package that is separate from her V4x release. On VOCALOID4, there has only ever been one Japanese release for Hatsune Miku, and that is her “V4X” release. In her V4X package includes all of the voicebanks from the V3 release ( excluding Light and Vivid ), with EVEC capability added to the Original, Solid, and Soft voicebanks, as well as all of the voicebanks being optimized for Cross-synthesis. Also, keep in mind that the Original V4x voicebank had a public beta released that people could try out some time before the V4X package was released. _That_ is the voicebank singing the Vietnamese song. It is not the Chinese voicebank.
Hatsune Miku V4 English
- I will say it again. This is the _only_ English voicebank Miku has ever had on the VOCALOID4 software. There is no “English V4X”, that’s not a thing. Yes, the “V4X” is on the logo of her English V4 demo, but that’s because her English V4 was released alongside the Japanese V4X package, and her English demo was part of the marketing campaign for that V4X release, partially because you could also get it in a bundle with the V4X release, and that’s what Crypton was pushing for. I realize that’s confusing, but that’s how it is. That said, her V4 English voicebank is _just_ “V4 English”. “V4X” simply refers to voicebank packages that contain voicebanks with EVEC capability. Please don’t let this video confuse you.
Hatsune Miku V4 Chinese
- Everybody say it with me now _”There is no Chinese V4X either”._ There is only one Chinese voicebank as of writing this comment. On that note, this voicebank _never_ had a beta release. The only voicebank with a public beta was the “Original” V4X voicebank ( and apparently her upcoming “NT” voicebank for Piapro Studio is supposed to be getting a beta too at some point ). Miku V4 Chinese is _just_ Miku V4 Chinese ( although she is sometimes also referred to as “V4C”. ). Granted, her voicebank did recently receive a free update which massively improved the quality of the voicebank, but this was simply a patch to the old voicebank, not a new voicebank like the Kagamine ACT2 voicebanks, and _certainly_ not a “V4X” release.
These are _all_ of Miku’s standard releases. All of them. She does have upcoming voicebanks for Crypton’s Stand-alone version of Piapro Studio, but for now, this is it, this is all she has. None of this V4 and V4X dichotomy crap; her Japanese V4 release is just called “V4X” because it includes voicebanks with EVEC capability. This video is very misleading filled with misinformation that you’ll easily find is incorrect with the smallest bit of research. It is very bound to confuse people and the uploader has done nothing to clear it up. Please upvote so that people can see this so they don’t get confused.
Thank you well-being..

Okay but v4 English wasn't bad and it had me really shook
Our Broken Anthem isn't a good example of her v4x English because it was made with the demo. Don't get me wrong I listen to it on repeat I'm just saying what I think.
Zance Hulsey ok then😐 I didn't know that
Zance Hulsey id6like to know where you got that info from... Cuz as far as I know it was the finished voicebank
Its not that hard to tell just look up her v4 english a lot of them sound a lot better and a lot easier to understand. It sounds a lot smoother and polished than in Our Broken Anthem. Its not the producer because Circus P knows what he's doing with english vocaloid songs.
Zance Hulsey Mmh Circus P certainly is a master!
Zance Hulsey I thought V4X was the beta and V4 was the final

Miku English is indeed beyond terrible, she is unusable compared to other English voicebanks. Well, by unusable, I mean, I don't want to spend hours fixing her horrible pronouncation because otherwise I can't understand a single word she is singing even if I'm the one writing the lyrics. I've used Big AL before and Luka English, Miku English is a HUGE regress. Just get GUMI instead

ShinyVesper u genoner xD
No, I prefer v2 too! World is Mine was the first Miku son I had ever heard! It really grew on me, so if you're burned at the stake, so am I!
Don't worry. I also like V2, its just that it sounds kinda robotic.
I prefer V2 as well!(My favorites are V2 and V4X). In my opinion it actually sounds way less robotic than a lot of the other ones.
keep in mind that world is mine was a big part of the reason miku blew up. most miku songs before that did not even compare to that quality.
Append songs have confirmed that Miku in fact can breath
The chinese version is absolutely vietnamese lyrics!!! But some work is not like that, just like chinese's word.

Miku append solid is having a stroke holy shit
I like the first Mimi voice the most
My opinions on the voice banks
V2- It's great. That's all
V2- Better quality but has less emotions. Still great
English V3- Engrish
V4- Idk about it fam basically the same as V3 but more emotions
English V4- yey, no more engrish.
V5- Sounds like V2 tbh
V4X English- Same feelings about V4X.
V4X-Sounds like Luo Tianyi trying to sound like Miku.
Append Sweet V2- Very soft and sweet. I much like
Append Dark V2- Soundsliek if you just pitched Kiku lower a bit, but really nice.
Append Soft V2- Really good for christine songs.
Append Soft V2- If Miku was a high quality Utau
Append Vived V2- Hmm..?
Append Solid V2- My favorite voicebank of Hatsune Miku. Nuff said
To clarify their is no V5, Its only called NT, the main reason its not called V5 because it does not run in Vocaloid 5 ( because miku's voice [ saki fujita's voice] runs alot of problems in vocaloid 5, thats what crypton said) and NT runs in piapro studio which is not Vocaloid program
Gosh, I love the Miku V4 English cover of Biohazard at 2:08! It’s super cool!
Solid sounds like a real person
Wow, didn't expect 鬱P showing up here
I fucking love Hatsune Miku Solid, especially the way it was tuned, because imagine that someone had to sit and put that much effort to make her sound real.

Where do you find that Append Light cover???? It's so good :0
I love Miku's Vivid voice 😍😍😍

I love Hatsune Miku
Isn't Akita Neru a different type of miku?
Miriam Ortega Neru is a Rin's variation
Ayumi Seikatsue07 i don't know if i'm wrong but Neru's design is based on Miku but her voice is based on Rin
no, neru is supposed to be a personification of miku when you cant get her voice to sound good i think
walroast that's Haku not Neru :v
well, they're both basically fanloids anyways
Miku's append soft, is so...unique. It's a nice voice to listen at. I can listen to it for hours and hours... I wish I had a voice like that.
I have no idea why but there is something about Append V2 that sound so much more powerful than the V4 versions, the newer ones sound almost empty, and for SOME damn reason they didn't include Vivid which is an actually good voicebank, rip.
does anyone know the song at 5:11

Miku append sweet is soooo adorable! The question is is when will they make the appends to be available in English or are they already there?
Nope TT.TT Miku doesn't have eng appends, but I think Luka's has: hard and soft if i ain't wrong
Miku v4x is funny cause on the video shes smiling but the song is depressing as fuck xD
So amazing, so many voices.
the sweet append of miku is just beautiful
Miku Sweet is da best !
Is it bad that I know every song?
Thank for listening to my cover, "Chinese girl" is a vietnamese song, it's about a chinese girl falling in love with a vietnamese man. I used Miku V4X Beta to cover that song, trying to make her sounds like a Vietnamese. Of course that voicebank is Japanese. I just really wanna hear her sing in my primary language, make it to myself and don't hope anyone listen to that :)) I choose a slow old song 'cause I hear it many times, I can rewrite it. But I know It won't be a good cover because I'm a tone deaf person, making that cover is really hard to me because I can't hear the note rightly. But I was a highschool student when I made that, I was a low tech person then.
My old channel has some Vietnamese song sing by Japanese Vocaloid, and it's normal to Vietnamese fan. You can find VietVocTeam, VVMTeam still uploading video like that and they do it better than me. My old channel was deleted by the copyright, and I'm stop making Vocaloid cover now. I'm in a film project now. Hope you don't mad at me because I come to late. But you know that, V4 and V4x is one version, V4x Beta is another version.
Why i should be mad 🤔😄 tour cover is awesome, seriously dood, that's why i choosed it from all the "chinese Miku songs", a shame that i didn't knew it was jp vb(that's mostly my fault cause i didn't asked to you in 1st place, srry, i was starting my YT channel by then and was afraid to talking to anyone). Trust me hun, your cover is amazing(sad you're not into it anymore) so keep the great job. Also i work in filming/editing/animating, so if someday you need help with something it will be a pleasure to help you 🙂
Thank you, I'm learninng movie special effect, it's just a school project haha.
I love all versions. Grew up on v2 though. I love the softness and realism in later versions though
Wait a minute! The chinese voicebank is actually singing a vietnamese song, it's a cover of VietVocTeam! You should find a Chinese ver like the song in Expo live (bad Eng :()
An Kiều i know that, but this is the only beta i found cause i made this last year, and i think i won't do this video again, don't worry my english is a poopy too

Geez, Miku Append Solid hardly sounds like Miku
This is beautiful
the new nt prototype sounds a lot like OG miku, but much clearer and nasal, some people don't like it, but for me it feels nostalgic
