It's actually both. There's no way even this talented person can accomplish the same results with Sweet Ann or Vocaloid 2 Miku first relase. That's also why producers prefer sometimes to work just with one or 2 characters that they feel confortable with, or have better results with one voicebank than other even if they tune them exactly the same. And not only that. The softwere has a lot to do too. That's why Crypton (and many other 'vocaloids') decided to not keep with Yamaha and started migrating to other softwares: Because Vocaloid wasn't providing them the results they and the whole community wanted. So it's actually Software + voicebank + tuning. Let's be real here.

Rin sounds youthful but gentle and the change from yelling to singing sounds so real Kaito sounds exactly like his voice provider and very handsome Len sounds like his age and also really enchanting Miku sounds like she’s singing in her range instead of her voice being strained Luka sounds mature and the English is perfectly pronounced And meikos voice is so clear and powerful it’s all perfect
in all seriousness though, they all sound so amazing, and i love how she belts out the high notes with like a resonating sound that doesnt sound strained!!! it sounds like its coming for her throat and head!! and the falsetto sounding notes in everyone else is so!??!?! meiko sounds amazing, she's a really powerful vocal all around, and sounds amazing belting out her notes in a comfortable range!! kaito also sounds amazing and not muffled AT ALL, which is totally amazing, because i actually prefer his v1 over his v3 due to the muffled sound!! rin and len's falsetto notes are fabulous and it really compliments their higher voices because although they have naturally higher, bright vocals, it makes them seem more realistic like teenagers who Are going through puberty and are more prone to voice cracks, albeit they sound like very trained vocalists. Holy damn Rin sounds so much more in control with her voice! She's my bias and all but she always sounded like she would suddenly lose control of her voice and shout incredibly high. I'm currently working on Palette on project diva and I'm listening it maybe 20 times a day and listening this now, the difference is just STUNNING especially on the English parts.
Listening to their tuning makes me forget that they’re Vocaloid and they’re just voice samples. But ey, the engine has tons of plugins and shit. It’s actually not impossible to make them sound human (even close to their seiyuus!).

Holy damn Rin sounds so much more in control with her voice! She's my bias and all but she always sounded like she would suddenly lose control of her voice and shout incredibly high. This version of Rin is absolute potential of how great she sounds when tuned properly. Can't wait what other producers will make once her NT voicebank comes out!

I've never worked with Piapro studio before so I can rarely know whether it work to all of them, but I suppose that function will work for at least V3 and V4 Vocaloids. That's really interesting, maybe I'll try it out and thank you for providing me such useful information (*^.^*)
@@HAPPiNK EVEC can be made only in Piapro studio and Vocaloid 4 can only play that and not able to edit it. Kaito's EVEC is great and he sounds real. Meiko too.

Kaito sounded so good, but both Len and Meiko was a little bit pitchy. Like a few times in the song Meikos voice went a bit too high so it kind of hurt my ears? And I don't think that was supposed to happen but more like a glitch.

I'm currently working on Palette on project diva and I'm listening it maybe 20 times a day and listening this now, the difference is just STUNNING especially on the English parts.
Listening to their tuning makes me forget that they’re Vocaloid and they’re just voice samples.
But ey, the engine has tons of plugins and shit. It’s actually not impossible to make them sound human (even close to their seiyuus!).
