This is amazing. I vaguely knew about the Miku Character, now that I know, It's really mindblowing.

Also quick note: yes „Vocaloid“ does indeed only refer to songs made specifically with Vocaloid(or in a casual cases also to piapro, since all the Piapro Voices were also Vocaloids at some point) and not to songs created with other voicesynths such as CevioAI, SynthV etc.
Same goes for the Japanese word for „Vocaloid“ (ボーカロイド). However there is the Japanese word „ボカロ“ (literally „Vocalo“) which was originally just an abbreviation of Vocaloid, but does nowadays refer to ANY song that uses a virtual voice regardless of the program behind it. So even CevioAI or Utau voices fall under that category.
That’s literally the reason in Japan exists two Wikipedia articles „Vocaloid“ and „Vocalo (genre)“
Just wanted to point that out since I encountered some people in the past who were confused about that.

Thank you for this 😊 I have been seeing Miku and other characters from Vocaloid popping all over my feed and I thought she was just a popular, cute anime character.
But when I found out that she did “songs” I got completely confused and I have wanted to get more in touch with this community as possible.
But it seems if you haven’t know vocaloid or Miku from the get go (like how I had to discover her) then you can’t gain access into it.
So thanks for this brief summary, it really helped explain a lot. I just hope if there are any members of this community that see this comment you will not be offended by my curiosity as I want to become a part of this community.

I'm not even a vocaloid fan. What I am a fan of is the producers (Inabakumori being my favorite) behind the songs. I know this to be true because I've heard non-sythesized vocal covers and I often enjoy those versions just as much. I wouldn't say my music taste is bound by genre or even method of production, I just appreciate good sound.
I've heard about Vocaloid so much before being an anime fan. So, I just decided to look it up. Sounds like a fun program.
