- Based on a true story from a “burnout survivor”, this talk will reveal the red flags to look out for when it comes to personal exhaustion and burnout. With the early signs of burnout hard to detect, learn how adopting a “Welcoming Disruption” mindset will help you recognise triggers and ultimately prevent this silent risk - whether it affects you or the people you care for. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx
Best speech I have seen on Burnout. I wish the author went in to more detail on the recovery process.
Wow what an amazing friend he had - very blessed indeed.
this is a great explanation of the process and i relate completely , at the end of my burnout i became almost unemotional
Anhedonia is a symptom of burnout.
The emotional self and the way he explained about ego is true.
“Our wounds are often the openings into the best and most beautiful part of us.” David Richo
Not until we are lost do we begin to understand ourselves. Henry David Thoreau
Below the unspeakable, we still find the words..Cioran
If you have nothing in life but a good friend, you're Rich. Kwan
Be first of all a good friend, companion to yourself...
Thanks a lot for these meaningfull words.I hope I will remember them when I feeling blue again.
Greetings from Berlin.
.
Thank you Frederic for this open, honest and inspirational presentation :-)
Very well worded, can so identify.
Love the jacket part
Thank you. I loved that ending.
Excellent talk!
What monitoring device is being used in this presentation?
I don't have friends like that where I live
I have a smartwatch that monitors my sleep. Imagine my poker face visualizing that the graph of sleep he showed is just like mine, but mine is a mix of the graphs 2 and 3. Oh f-.
Wow, I had no idea burnout could be this severe. I am glad he got better 😊
Good
How can this be measured outside of a lab for everyday people that are into biohacking?
👏👏👏👏👏👏
👍👍

Okay.... the presentation becomes interesting and clear at about half of the video.
I found the first part really messy and difficult to understand (like sentences wrote by different people with no natural link), when it could be much better very easily... maybe it was due to stress :-)
The defiant scarf climatologically hope because band reassembly raise athwart a woebegone select. brainy, messy curve
I'm sorry, but wtf is this talk. Someone who was not aware of having a burn out?! Burn out doesn't wipe off your memory.
It does for me... my short-term memory is completely screwed up, I wouldn´t be surprised if I wake up somewhere like that.
Me too my short-term memory isn't good at the moment.
forisma Burnout has some similarities to ptsd. At worst it is a big deal.
Burnout definitely brings changes in the working memory, short term memory and executive functions
Yep yep it definitely does effect memory. In a severe case burn out can be a pre curser to psychosis.
My memory takes a big hit and takes a long time to return. I’ve certainly lost time when in burn out.
