      Thank you so much for your comment! I really appreciate it! Ive been busy with work lately but will try to upload more videos soon!
      My vote is definitly for the jubilee. The design is elegant and timeless while the solid links still feel very substantial. The Engineer on the other had has a very brutalist design. Also the Jubilee has better end links. One last thing, that can be a pro or a con (i like it) is with the jubiee on it looks like a classic SKX on Steroids!

    Great video mate, just picked up a SLA21 as well, as some who owns omega, Tudor and breitling I have to say that the quality of this watch is phenomenal. The lume is on par maybe even better than my omega PO. Have to say I prefer the Seiko clasp over the strapcode due to the micro adjustment options for daily wear to help get the perfect size.

    Thank you for such an in-depth analysis! It helped me decide on which clasp to choose. I have a smaller wrist too and don't wanna end up with an unwearable clasp. By the way, if you still happen to have both, which one has a longer non-flexible part? In the video it looks like the strapcode one is a tad shorter

    • @mr.ethings1545
      @mr.ethings1545  2 роки тому

      You're very welcome! You mean which one has the longer non-flexible part of the clasp?
      So there is not actually a straight forward answer to this. The Seiko (Original) Clasp and a small clasp body, meaning you will need more links on the bracelet to fit the same wrist size as the StrapCode BUT the divers extension under the Seiko Clasp is a lot longer so it extends past the clasp resulting in a non-flexible part long than the Stapcode clasp.
      But since the divers extension is under the actual links of the bracelet you done see it and in fact it has a built in curve to it making it wear quite nicely.
      In the end, they are both comfortable. The Strapcode clasp is larger but it is also built from milled stainless steel. The seiko clast uses a lot of stamped metal but has a longer extension!
      Hope that was able to answer your question!

    Really disappointed in my new Strapcode Super Angus bracelet for my new Turtle, I ordered a couple weeks ago. One of the endlinks springbar hole did not line up with the hole in the lug. It was off by almost an eighth of an inch. It was only one of the endlinks. I guess I should have sent it back, but heard they were not return friendly. I'll be trying Uncle Seiko in the future.

  • @jabudise
    @jabudise 2 роки тому +1

    I like the Strapcode bracelets but there is a difference in the lug tip size to get them to fit especially with the Seiko turtles. The original Seiko is a 2.5mm spring bar with a 1.1mm tip. Strapcode uses a smaller diameter spring bar with a .7mm tip. I’m a bit concerned with the smaller tip wearing out the lug hole or the strength of the non Seiko spring bars. There is a reason Seiko uses the “fat boy” spring bars. I’m not sure why strapcode doesn’t make their end links with the same exact dimensions of the Seiko bracelets.

    Everyone loves to shit all over the stock standard bracelets - I think they're just fine and folks just like to disparage them because it's a Seiko and everyone feels somehow compelled to do so. I feel no such need.
    That said, the Strapcode bracelets are fantastic quality and allow you to keep your stock bracelet immaculate should the day ever come when you need to sell - since the bracelet is the watch component most likely to get dinged up in the daily wear of a watch, I see a good value in this.

    • @mr.ethings1545
      @mr.ethings1545  3 роки тому +1

      Ya I don't think the stock bracelet is that bad as well. Personally, I think there is just something about "upgrading" your watch the way people want to add "upgrades" to their perfectly good cars (adding spoilers and exhaust etc.) Some may think its bad taste, but deep down inside there was a time when we liked the cars in Fast and the Furious. At least I did hahha

    Mr E, this video is a huge help, but I’m still having trouble deciding between the ratcheting clasp and a safety fold over clasp w/no divers extension like your skx.
    I just bought a turtle specifically for diving and I was curious to know, how necessary is the divers extension for diving? I noticed your skx007 doesn’t have an extension, or am I mistaken?
    I wish the ratcheting clasp also had a fold over latch! Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks!

    • @mr.ethings1545
      @mr.ethings1545  2 роки тому +1

      The seiko Turtle already has a divers extension on the stock clap, its either extended or not extended so its not as adjustable as a ratcheting claps. That being said I believe you can you the seiko clasp with the strapcode bracelet but you'll have to double check. I know it works that way with the MM300.
      If you are diving in tropical waters and are using a thinner wetsuit that you probably wont need a divers extention. In fact. the wetsuit and your wrist will actually shrink in size as you decent. I personally think its worth it to get the ratcheting clasp and never had any issues with the fact that it doesnt have a fold over latch and I have been on many dives with things rubbing against my clasp.
      The ratcheting extension is also useful outside of the water as you can loosen the watch on hot sweaty days without taking the watch off your wrist!

      Hello Razvan! Thank you for stopping by, I am glad you got some useful information from the video, I don't have a scale that can measure the weights of the bracelets, but the strapcode bradelets are heavier. I find that to be a good thing as it balances the heavy case of the watch as it acts as as counter weight.
      The clasp that I have is the divers extension clasp. You can buy it seperately or you can buy it bundled with the strap from strapcodes website! The standard (smaller) clasp does not have a dive extension.

    • @mr.ethings1545
      @mr.ethings1545  3 роки тому +2

      The only place in which the MarineMaster clasp beats out the Strapcode divers extention clasp is in the length of its extension. But it is also a double edge sword, the longer extension allows it to extend over a dry suit but the long channel that houses the dive extension also makes a little less comfortable for small wrists.
      I don't do any cold water diving so I dont need the length extension of the stock clasp. So the strapcode really is a winner for me. Since the video I still have mine on the Angus Jubilee and really loving it! Thanks for stopping by the channel!

    I recently purchased a Orient kamasu. I was a little shocked to discover that the strapcode replacement bracelet for this watch here in the UK costs £180, which is well over 200 dollars. I believe this same bracelet in the US is around 60 - 70 dollars, or 50 - 60 pounds. I will never be buying a watch bracelet or strap that costs the same the watch. I would be very interested to know why strapcode believe their bracelet to be of the same value as my watch here in the UK ? But a quarter of the value in the US. Are their UK issue bracelets made of some superior materials that would justify such a huge increase in price ? Or is it actually the same bracelets being sold here but aimed at people with more money than sense ? I own a few watches but unfortunately for strapcode I will never be one of their customers.
