Agree, my dream is mm300. SEIKO IS THE BEST IN THE WORLD. Always one step ahead of the rest. My first automatic was seiko antartica in 2021. I celebrated going to collage, hopefully i will buy this one after masterdegree. I will always pick seiko over eny rolex, omega or ap.... It is trully an art.
I just received mine and it is my favorite watch. I don’t want to take it off! It is that nice!!! Well done Seiko! The video is awesome, excellent work!!
Fully agree with you and absolutely love this and all high end Seiko watches. There is however a query here, the 8L35, (which is based on the 9S55 Grand Seiko movement), is not regulated as it should be when used in the Marinemaster, some people are lucky and get a movements that hold 3 seconds per day, other people are unlucky and get 12 seconds per day! The forums and blogs of full of these observations! The 8L35 is of excellent quality and is very capable of running to COSC limits or better, I just don’t understand why Seiko don’t adjust/regulate this movement to a high standard before casing it in the watch. Because of its case design it is more difficult and expensive to regulate the movement if you happen to get one that has a particularly higher daily rate error. Very annoying this issue is from a fantastic brand!
That is interesting how Seiko chooses to do things. I consider Seiko a mute brand, that does not specifically do what the customers want. still they are one of the most endorsed brand all time. and yes, I agree, the 8L35 is a movement with tons of potential if regulated accordingly.
And that’s what happened to me. I got one that’s 15 seconds off in 12 hours. And I have a Tudor and omega that’s one second off in 24 hours. Frustrating
Thank you Boogur for your kind words! hopefully someday I will be able to achieve this milestone, to inspire people and to bring a bit balance in their decisions to buy a timepiece :)
This watch is truly a work horse but as well at the same a work of art such a wonderful peace wow your vid was so deep you did this watch more than just you brought a Warrior to life as it should thanks
Nice review but you make such as fuss about the Prospex dial, the upgrades is far more outweigh for mere x dial and personally I love that x dial makes it look less cluttered.
i have to disagree, i want to see the marinemaster text and not the prospex symbol. that "X" really is polorizing for me, i don't like seeing it on any of their models. again, just my preference
@@jh-il5sb oii move on it’s an old thread!! Everyone has their own preference! Nothing right or wrong as long as you like the watch! That’s all it matters
Thank you Razvan! honestly i tried at some point a new marinemaster, but i wasn't that impressed. felt like a seiko but more expensive.. but this one, i felt it like a tool, like an object with substance. it impressed me right from the spot.
i bought this Marinemaster sbdx001 twice. I didn’t sell my first one. I gave it to a friend as a gift and i kept thinking about it. I had to get one for myself again. I wont give it to anyone this time.
Thank you for showing us this one,, perhaps you could remind us of the current line up of "brave beaters",, ? Or maybe, when the collection reaches 10,,, ? ,, Keep up the good work,, all the best,,, John....
honestly before I submit every video I say: I need to make more room and present the lineup. and every wed or Thursday I end up not having time to finish the videos as I wanted to and I skip it :))))))))
An already Legendary Seiko Diver I can say (and I'm not wrong) 😋 Well punctuated and argued the "character" of this watch ... Everything well done. Great review, buddy!
Superb video. I own the 017. One looks straight to the watch and still can see the upper polished faces of the case and the lugs contrasting with the brushed top parts of the lugs. Unique characteristic and very pleasing to the eyes. The MM 300 is truely a masterpiece. I guess the case was inspired on a egg shape. What do you think?
Beautifully crafted video as always, thank you. Like the MM, just wish Seiko did divers without the date (really don't like it on divers) Keep up the good work, Cheers 👍🏻👍🏻
I don’t mind date (no day) complications on divers, just wish they would be at the 6 o clock position so there was a sense of balance and symmetry to the watch. The 3 o clock position seems to unbalance the watch. Omegas do it so well.
@@stevefox8605 I’ve been thinking of selling a few of my kind of medium luxury Swiss watches to use as a largish deposit on this Seamaster 210.30.42.20.01.001 Love this watch.
Hi, if you are talking about the reasoning behind the design of the waffle strap, I would like to know as well :D but I think this should be a great video to make out of it. :)
whats wrong with the prospex version other than the prospex logo ? the latest version has ceramic bezel, saphire crystal and better lume and also has mems technology and diashield
I tend to agree with the comment. 001 has the creamy hand applied lume which has a more personal touch. Lack of diashield (which does scratch - I had both 017 and 001) allows for a case repolish (if you have the courage or skills :) ) and the MEMS is impressive however not something that would make a huge difference in every day wearing. The lack of X on the crown/dial imo brings the watch closer to the earlier Seiko models which were more ... nice. Out of all MM issued to date imo the 001 represents the most iconic one closest to the 6159. And the missing sapphire and ceramic are also (although sounds strange) advantages for a tool diver true to its roots
Love the watch and vid. Just a cultural note, displaying something purely Japanese with all of the fantastic Japanese qualities, juxtaposed with a Chinese camera is a massive faux pas. It's like showing an Arabic artwork juxtaposed with something jewish. Or a French icon with something German in the background. I know it all probably just looks like "asian writing" to you, so I know you don't mean anything by it. Just letting you know to take care about those things
Pretty sure almost everyone might disagree with me but I take this watch over any diver no matter the price. I think that it is that stunning.
It’s definitely great for the price range. However, I can’t honestly say that I wouldn’t take one of the GS divers over it.

I owned a SBDX001 and some grand seikos but I never take any GS divers over SBDX001.
GS divers are too bulky and robust to my taste.

The music, your voice, the amazing history, I almost cried, I'm not kidding.
Really nice work dude!
Fine documentary! This is the best representation of any seiko watch I have seen on UA-cam. Congratulations 👏
Wow, thank you! :)
Officially my favorite timepiece reviewer. Outstanding once again and made my decision to sell my few other Seikos and get a Marinemaster.
AHAHAHHA Great Assessment! I have planned a video with the title: the shortcut with Seiko diver, buy the marine master! :D
A fantastic content with great pictures and views. Soulful. Thanks for that!
