- Hi guys! Here is another video of ongoing build series on Marinemaster MM300 homage modded with beautiful MOP dial that we've been doing lately. The video shows the process of how to strip MM300 and change out dial and hands. Parts used on this build are listed down in the description below.

I own the SBDX001 and I would love to mod it with a Sharky ceramic bezel as they have the original lume pip and not a painted lume pip that appeared on the SBDX033 which I also own and never wear because it's evident that this paint isn't lacquered and will inevitably wear off during day to day wear.
Don't think they are sharing same dimension

Can someone please explain why the hour hand was fixed when the date wheel turned over but the minute hand was fixed when the hour hand was at 6?

Please be careful. Configuration on new MM bezel is different from this one. Current /New mm300 come with tension spring which makes it very hard for the bezel to be removed and once it is out, it's hard to put it back.

@@TheNeilo-Audiosound MM that you see here is old version. This bezel type is similar to SKX, it comes with clicking sprint (not tension spring). The bezel is easy to remove and put it back.
@@TheNeilo-Audiosound Removing the bezel with spring clicking is exactly the same as removing bezel from SKX. Just need to force abit to slot bezel removal into the gap and pry it out.

The dial seems doesnt have protruding “ears” to hang on the chapter ring
There is small step on the dial. Not as obvious as other AM or OEM dials. However, it is big enough for chapter ring groove to slot in.

@@candratrisyana7677 Since OEM and AM chapter rings are in the same design, why would you want to change? You can use back the chapter ring that comes with the watch.

Good question. Ours is very early batch they produced.

@@Eitan258 Better confirm with the supplier before you buy as hour indices of new manufactured dials are placed on bigger PCD which then have issue with mm300 chapter ring.
Hello, how would you remove the crown given that the lever to release it is on the underneath?
On this mod, you dont need to remove the crown as you can have access to dial and hands from the front. If you want to remove the crown, there is a connect of the stems (one portion is inserted to movement and the other to crown). You need to unscrew that connection to detach the crown and stem assembly from watch head.
@@felix.delrubio Hi thanks for the reply. This version has a connector with small screw. You can disconnect the stem and remove the crown+short stem assembly from the casing.
So for change only the dial you only need to remove the bezel, and the crystal? And how do you pull out the dial?

MM dials should fit but you need to double check and confirm with dial maker again before you purchase. We use back original chapter ring.

I am positively surprised about it and would like to buy one with a real click spring instead of a wire under the bezel.

I don't like the ones with the wire under the bezel because it's just a cheap solution.
I thought all MM300 hommages used the cheap wire instead of a click spring?

@@NisokiesNafokies Addies is another "brand" of MM300 sold on aliexpress, I assume these are all made by one company that just changes the dial branding.
@@garmin1488 It depends. Steeldive marinemaster has different bezel and insert from Proxima or HIMQ.

Why would you want a seiko homage that says seiko ?
This is up to the one who is making the dial I guess.

Great video. I think it would have been easier to set the hands at midnight and hack the movement before removing the dial.
So long as all hands are aligned on the same line, it is ok to remove together. I always try to avoid 12 mid night where day date change is occurred not to mess up with the movement.

The base watch user on this mod is homage of Seiko Marinemaster. Dial using here is aftermarket MOP dial. Final product is cosmetically look alike marinemaster.
Beautiful watch. But you cut the wrong leg off the dial on the date side and hid it from the audience removing the other one and using dial dots. If someone follows your video like tutorial will end with a ruined dial just because you present an error like a good job. For me, the video would have been great if you present the job with all the problems you faced. For example, removing the rotating bezel requires much more strength than we can see on the video. Or maybe you are extremely strong. 😂
