So the neck isn't 1 piece of wood? That's kinda disappointing. I was thinking of getting a 414ce ovangkol but knowing it's not a 1 piece neck and instead a scarf joint. I think that's kinda cheap for a premium priced guitar. Is the wood even really solid wood?? It doesn't say on the website. I'm indecisive about Taylor now.

The better way you understand the Taylor neck construction is watching this video... ua-cam.com/video/Tzru453JO2w/v-deo.html
Bob Taylor once said, "Give me a simple palette and I'll make a great sounding guitar out of it for you." So don't get mad, no acoustic guitar, let alone an electric guitar is worth several thousand dolar. In that sense, it doesn't matter whether the neck is made of one piece of wood or of several. You won't notice a tonal difference anyway and the manufacturers are playing on the map.
taylor necks are always built with two pieces because they can save a lot of wood this way and the neck is stronger! the angle makes a one piece wood not so durable
@@A-Wa Yes, saving wood is the main reason for building the necks in two, three or more parts. At some point it occurred to the manufacturers to claim that this is good for the stability of the neck and people believe it. Multi-part construction is by no means conducive to the sound.

What did you end up buying? All Taylor models made in California (so, the 300 series and up) are made with solid wood.

Wow what junk this is exactly how the Chinese companies build a guitar. I like how he says innovation and state of the art for cheap
I will never buy a Taylor!
