She was trying to suggest he better himself as a person, rather than blame others for his own faults. In any case, his whole egotistical, classist, incel shtick was enough to ruin my impression of him.

@@Atlas-tv9jb I think you kind of missed that like Adaine isn't necessarily the good guy in that situation, either, even though she was correct. She has a habit of being super judgy and acting out of spite even if it's harmful to those around her or even herself, and she seems to always think she knows the right thing for people despite not even knowing herself really well. Great characters, great writing and acting, but neither character in that scenario was really "good". That's why even the other players made their characters joke about how Adaine was trying to fix him, because that's a character flaw of hers.

WOAH WOAH WOAH!!! Let me get this perfectly straight: You comment something that is completely unrelated to the fact that I have two HAZARDOUSLY HOT girlfriends? Considering that I am the unprettiest UA-camr worldwide, it is really incredible. Yet you did not mention it at all. I am VERY disappointed, dear medociore
10:09:00 Kristen telling a distraught, convoluted story about historical mass coat-burning while desperately seeking advice from Daybreak as tense music plays while Emily is in TEARS trying not to laugh in the background at the weird coat anecdote is one of my favorite subplots of Fantasy High and will never not also make me also cry laughing
Thought about this during my rewatch. This was Ally’s first campaign, and yet they still made such a wonderful and complex character out of Kristen. The whole cast are incredible improvisers, but I thought that was extra impressive
Yeah i was really impressed with Ally's ability to be serious and really inhabit a role not that i thought that theyre dumb or a bad actor but i didn't think they would embrace this as much as they did but they committed and it was amazing
This was their first one?!? I remember watching them during cinderbrush and I loved Ally and their character. They do such a good job, Kristen kind of resonates with my past growing up in an evangelical family. It’s tough getting out of it and Ally did a great job.
@@hexonyou well they do say write what you know. I've never played myself (yet) but I can imagine that it's a very good strategy for learning roleplay to start off by roleplaying a situation you're familiar with

I'd love to see a ton of games going on with different people. I am signing up for dropout immediately so I can catch the rest. You guys should be super proud of yourselves.
After watching this whole thing either Brennan is just the most intelligent mastermind of a DM ever or is just amazing at thinking on his feet with everything from even episode 1 lining up to the endgame
I'd say it's both. He knows what he wants to do but lets the players do their own thing and works with them, then adapts what he wants to do accordingly, both on the spot and in between sessions. Which is exactly what any DM should do; work with the players to make an enjoyable experience for everyone even if it throws the DM's plans off. Brennan's handling of it along with the cast just absolutely *_sell_* this series and I'm glad for it.
Well, with the crazy requests and decisions he has to be prepared for anything. I guess the same for all DMs. But there’s been crazy Nat 1 and Nat 20’s so that calls for improvising. Also that one moment where Fig decides to use a spell improperly. Can’t predict your players or their rolls at any time.
Don’t forget that he does have like, days between episodes. Something goes wrong in the storyline because somebody rolled 3 Nat 20’s? Give me three days and Brennan will write an entire new story
10:44:00 "did you make another rat" "no that one's just sexy on its own" this is the moment at which i learned i will never. EVER be as funny as emily ever in my life
Hello, I actually know the answer. It’s sort of two fold, number one, God allows evil to exist in the world because true love requires free will, God wants us to actually love him, which cannot happen without free will, love is a choice freely given. You can’t choose if there is only one choice so hence God allows evil to exist in the world. I mean, the devil himself was an angel who chose not to follow God so even the angels choose to love and serve God. Second, our purpose on earth is to get back to heaven, so sadness and suffering exist to remind us that this is not heaven and we don’t belong here it’s just temporary. Hopefully that makes sense!
@@bekahhaught807 I'm sorry? Suffering exists because God wants us to love him? That's an awfully self-centered reason to allow suffering. If that's the case, he should work on loving himself instead of needing everyone else to love him, to do point that he'd rather people be hurt than him not being loved. I'm sure a God would be above such insecurities though, so that reason for suffering in the world is probably found elsewhere Thank you for sharing your input and reflections. Though I don't believe it to be the answer, it lead me to further reflect
If God wanted us to have free will so that we could love him on our own, why were Adam and Eve forbidden from eating the apple that gave them free will? Have I misremembered the scripture?
I binged the entire campaign in less than 3 days and my entire life was narrated specifically by brennans voice for Gilear in my head and occasionally I'd feel it slipping into my own speaking voice, wacky stuff man

My favorite Brennan moment that not many talk about in this is when we first meet Zelda. You can literally tell the awkwardness and it’s really good acting and not even 30 seconds he’s doing Ragh impression and the juxtaposition of those two make it seem like different people and you look and it’s just Brennan. Ridiculous amount of talent he has, I strive to be half the dm he is.
I know D20 is an anthology series but I really hope they come back to Fantasy High at some point. The characters are all so well fleshed out and really fighting like a team by the end, and I’d love to see what Brennan does for all of the familiar NPCs (and obviously new ones) with the dynamic of the PCs really getting settled. In a way it feels like their adventures are just getting started :(
I do think that maybe they will because of the plot hook with the nightmare king’s crown at the end of this season unless Brennan plans to have the second season be about that but I’ve heard the second season is taking place in a completely knew world.

@@BrazenLunatic I think he said that in the episode we first meet gortholax but I also believe to have heard him say something else when they fought kalvaxis, when the councellor and Aguefort were brought back.
I vascillate wildly between thinking these people (and especially Brennan) are incredible at D&D and would be amazing to play with, and thinking the fact that Dimension 20 probably spent twenty-five thousand dollars on fabricating materials and planning and postproduction on this, not to mention human hours. This is definitely the best D&D content I've seen in a long time.
Brennan: Creates an epic cinematic high-speed chase canyon jump setpiece and lays it out in front of the party on an almost literal red carpet. Bard: "Nah think I'll turn around and flip this bitch." D&D, everybody.
I just have to say, and I doubt he'll ever see this comment, but the amount of time and dedication that the DM must have put into preparing this campaign is truly impressive. Not only are the amazing backstories and lore on display, but the exceptional way he RPs each of the NPCs and seamlessly transitions to narration and leading the group on the their journey. He is clearly a very talented guy. I've never played a TTRPG but this looks like so much fun. I cannot see how someone could sit down at that table and not have an absolute blast engaging in the shared creative expression via collective imagination. The fact they were both wrong made it perfect. She claims he wants to change women then immediately tries to change him without realizing it.
@@brockhodge3225 mm forgive me if Ive misunderstood what part we were referring to, but I think you missed her whole message. He was clearly playing the "incel" archetype - her comments were not related to him not working hard enough to be "fit" or "popular", rather she was trying to suggest that he is not owed women's interest. She was trying to suggest he better himself as a person, rather than blame others for his own faults.
In any case, his whole egotistical, classist, incel shtick was enough to ruin my impression of him.
@@Atlas-tv9jb I mean, that was kind of the point. He is meant to be the type of disgusting guy you don't like because he's an asshole incel that also kidnaps people and is a villain.
And yet she didn't call out Tracker for sexually assaulting our corn girl.

Thank you your a nice person BOAH
But when does episode 1 start
The first episode is basically Dimension 20: Breakfast Club.
We need a breakfast club version of everything
Adaine is the Princess, Fig is the Criminal, Riz is the Brain, Fabian/Gorgug is the athlete and Kirsten is the basketcase.
With corn
@@juanpablomontalvo4715 I dunno, the Power Rangers version of The Breakfast Club wasn't well-received (I liked it, though)
I love that Fabian always starts combat with a "cool thing", but more often than not just fails miserably, then makes up for it.
I cannot explain to you the feeling of pure fear I felt when hearing Riz Gukgak say “How wide is this things asshole? Goblin sized?” In the trailer for the second episode
Okay, i *immediately* see how Emily is an amazing player who has been sent from Hell to kill Brennan.
Fabulous.
Top iconic moments from this series.
Fig’s bardic inspirations
Kristen’s inspirational speeches
Gorgug’s “Are you my dad?”s
Oh, also, Kristen being clueless about flirting with Tracker
Fig's "[Insert demon here] might be my dad!"
Fabian saying PAPAAAAA
“The ball”
Riz : I'm going up it's ass

Siobhan's interaction with her sister would be even more hilarious/terrifying if the laughing spell was still in effect.
And tbh its fits perfectly in with genocides
I think they were really in their wheelhouse because their character seems to be a lot like how they describe their very christian upbringing
@@hexonyou well they do say write what you know. I've never played myself (yet) but I can imagine that it's a very good strategy for learning roleplay to start off by roleplaying a situation you're familiar with
This is some of the finest DM'ing I've seen. The voices, the character building, the freaking models! This is amazing. I hope you keep making these forever. I'd love to see a ton of games going on with different people. I am signing up for dropout immediately so I can catch the rest. You guys should be super proud of yourselves.
I want to also
This comment is framed in the collage humor/dropout headquarters
I absolutely love Gorgug’s parents
I know! That whole family is a treasure, they're all such sweet people.

“Why is there so much suffering in the world?”
* claps * “Later”
I DIED 😂😂😂
@@bekahhaught807 I was quoting the episode lol
@@bekahhaught807 I'm sorry? Suffering exists because God wants us to love him? That's an awfully self-centered reason to allow suffering. If that's the case, he should work on loving himself instead of needing everyone else to love him, to do point that he'd rather people be hurt than him not being loved. I'm sure a God would be above such insecurities though, so that reason for suffering in the world is probably found elsewhere
Thank you for sharing your input and reflections. Though I don't believe it to be the answer, it lead me to further reflect
If God wanted us to have free will so that we could love him on our own, why were Adam and Eve forbidden from eating the apple that gave them free will? Have I misremembered the scripture?
I watched this whole thing with a few short breaks and now all of my thoughts are narrated by Brennan Lee Mulligan

Brennan is a fantastic DM. I love this I'm currently 5 hours in, but I want more dnd content like this forever and ever amen. please.

"Every time that tornado got richer, it became more deadly." Ah, damn you D&D, this is why I love thee.
Brennan: Creates an epic cinematic high-speed chase canyon jump setpiece and lays it out in front of the party on an almost literal red carpet.
Bard: "Nah think I'll turn around and flip this bitch."
D&D, everybody.
It's a beautiful thing, and that's not overselling it.
