    This video really helped me with the basics of tuning and inspired me to start doing it although I've started to do drift tuning and would appreciate it if anyone could try them out.

    _"In road racing, acceleration is your priority, because if you barely reach 230mph during your typical races, why bother giving up so much acceleration?"_
    And how is having the acceleration to get to this reduced top speed more important than outright top speed?

    • @ATribeCalledCars
      @ATribeCalledCars  Рік тому +1

      Depends on the circuit but the point is that if you never get the chance to reach the current top speed, it makes sense to trade some for improved acceleration. It's a common tactic in racing.

  • @iseeall7581
    @iseeall7581 2 роки тому +1

    I see. Instead of playing the game for fun, you gotta worry about your car setting all the time!
    So is there a setting so that I can drive the car smoothly, so that car don't turns or slip automatically?

    • @ATribeCalledCars
      @ATribeCalledCars  2 роки тому

      It's possible to just make sure the gears aren't reducing your too speed. The rest may not be too bad by default. Or just download a popular tune and forget about all the tuning stuff.

      So it's reluctant to steer? Sounds like understeer. You can try easing up the rear downforce first. Also check out my newer tuning videos (Ferrari 599XX Evo and the other tuning guide, that mentions how to make cars nimbler).

      Sounds like the differential could be tweaked for starters. Maybe reduce rear downforce too if you have any and upgrade the tyres for improved grip.

    • @Coltonh65
      @Coltonh65 3 роки тому

      Performance Index.
      It dictates what class your car is in. Most people try to tune to the highest possible class before rolling into the next one.
      900 is the highest PI you can get as an A Class vehicle. 901 is where the S1 Class starts.

    Overview of game physics is fine for those not using a wheel, but the fundamentals in terms of tuning a car wrong. The footage clearly shows you are on a controller otherwise the jerky turns wouldn't happen. The balanced tuning of a car of are correct, up to point. It's not one size fits all. I have Front Wheel Drive, Rear Wheel Drive and AWD cars set up for multiple terrains, all different. I even have multiple set ups for the same car depending on what terrain we're driving on. Having swapped from controller to wheel, this is irrelevant for those using the wheel. I race, and I own an Elise S2, and race set up is paramount (P.S. the Elise on here is shite compared to how it really drives!!!). Every car in this game is different. Converting a front wheel drive car to AWD completely upsets the handling. Your generic suggestions do not work. I spend an hours, or more, perfecting my cars on Forza. A generic tune is not the answer. There is a better set up available... if the individual player is willing to fettle, especially for AWD conversion cars, then the car WILL handle better. This is of course down to individual knowledge of car set up. But, if they follow the Forza guidelines and play around, they will get a better set up. First rule of AWD cars is set them to 50/50!!! Then soften the roll bars and rear suspension.... then look at bump and rebound stiffness. Alignment is something you didn't cover. Toe in / toes out etc...... make a huge difference. I know from my own car where they got it wrong!!! Huge upset to the balance under acceleration with just a few degrees out. I first played Forza using a controller, and I have spent God knows how many hours retuning to race on a wheel. The experience is entirely different.... but better! I own 606 cars.... the task is unending. I know from swapping from controller to wheel the tunes vary widely. However, your tune suggestion for the controller still do not work! Happy to share my tunes..... DR34DN0UGHT4382 ....as they do......

    • @ATribeCalledCars
      @ATribeCalledCars  4 роки тому +9

      This guide was more about a controller yes but the fundamentals still apply. I drive cars for a living so I know the principles, but Forza isn't that complicated. A few things are broken or the opposite of real life. There's little point being crazy precise because your driving will make the biggest difference. I've messed around with every setting on many cars and it doesn't make a massive difference once you like the feel of a car. A lot of world record players use similar setups and they work. As I said make a car fit how you drive and go from there.

      They are, but eventually it clicks. Sort of. I favour the setups there the front tucks in under acceleration.
