  • We moved to a temporary social house in the UK. It also is called Council housing.
In this video, I make a temporary social house tour and I show how looks inside. How much do we pay for it and what cost of our bills.

Thanks for being open about your accommodation and your gratitude. Heating with electric is much more expensive than gas. Try turning thermostat down if you have one. Prices have got very bad in last year so many struggle with costs. Prepay meters like what you have are more expensive. If you can set up direct debit you will get units cheaper.
If you are getting mould inside then it is usually because there is too much moisture trapped inside. Open windows a bit during the day. Make sure any steam from cooking or showers is going outside(shut the door to the room and use extractor fans or open windows. If the house is warmer there will be less chance of mould. Wipe any moisture off windows in cold weather. Now we are entering summer it will be much less of a problem.
My Ukrainian guest family are now my family and I have 2 amazing step children. I invited their babusa over and she is living with me and my children now too. They are from Kyiv/Chernihiv . Love them so much ♥
Good luck and its is honour to have you in our country 🇺🇦 🤝 🇬🇧

Jevon, thank you for such detailed instruction
We are now completely happy with this electric heating. Gas costs so expensive because the house is too big)

Send greating to your Ukrainian family!

@@amazingukraine.irynagegelska you will still be paying much more than you need to. First change to direct debit. Then look at your central heating setup. If you are dead set on not using the bedrooms then close the valves o n the radiators and keep those doors shut. The central heating will be MUCH cheaper to heat the rooms you use than electric. That's unless youn have the thermostat set very high. Should be about 18 degrees. I know you think you have found them perfect solution but trust me it is certainly not.

I am glad you are no longer homeless and have been given a place to live for now. You are dealing with these hard circumstances in a dignified way, including your openness about them.

      Thank you Christopher
We still are counting as homeless but council provides accommodation.
I did this video because here are many women in similar situation. 150 000 Ukrainians were host by British people but over 4000 became homeless now. And many live in hotels
The thing with the UK houses and renting is crazy expensive here.
For instance in Ukraine you can be homeless just if you use alcohol or drags, or totally unsocial person.
Any who is willing to work can buy house somewhere in a village (price starts from 2 000 $) and live there.
In the UK houses in the villages are more expensive than in cities.
That is why many people work very hard here and many pay migrate for 20 years.

@@amazingukraine.irynagegelska It isn't too different here in NYC in terms of housing costs and homelessness. Of course, many Ukrainians are facing even greater difficulties now.

You are an amazing person. So strong. Thank you for your videos. I first found your channel before the war, when I was trying to find out why the Ukrainian flag was blue and yellow. I am English and I didn't ever think that you would have to come to England to live. I bet you didn't think you would be here too! Please take good care of yourself. Warmer weather is arriving and better times are coming too. I wish you well.
