Great video. I would also like to add that I use a small feather duster to keep the outside of my display cameras clean as well as a medium size artist ultra-soft camel hair brush to sweep all parts of the lens, camera exterior and interior to loosen and remove fine dust then finish up with the rocket blower. I look forward to your celebrating your 1000th subscriber.
@@julesvuottosphotofocus4696 Jules, I just ordered cleaning wands from Amazon. They look like cotton buds but the tips are wrapped in microfiber. I'm going to they them and see how that works out.
Dude, I don't believe it... a Nikkormat FTn and a Minolta SRT101... I have exactly the same cameras! (Although I'm testing a SRT303b right now that I will probably end up staying with.) Is the 50mm f2 lens the standard kit lens on the Nikkormat? I have the same, with the official in-house AI update, and it's an absolute gem.
@@eddyhoughton6542 Back in the day it usually was either the 50mm 2.0 or the 50mm 1.4. When I got my FTn in 1972 it was the 1.4. Thanks for watching and your comments.
Hi Jules, a damp cloth with some mild soap works wonders on the body (esp. the vinyl parts).. dry it off afterwards. The Zeiss lens tissues are great for all the glass parts. The pencil rubber is for cleaning rusty terminal contact points? You certainly don't have a lack of funds 😄👍
A very fine and comprehensive cleaning demonstration 👍👍👍
The first useful video about cleaning analog cameras that I found. Thank you so much for the content!
Thank you Alex. Glad it helped.
Thanks Jules...great tips and I learned something useful. I didn't know how to clean the mirror, and I need to get those pointed q-tips. Thanks!

Good suggestion.
Nice video. Question. Do you know of a good way to polish out bright marks on a vintage chrome camera? Thanks, Steve
I don’t know of a way to polish out those marks.
@@julesvuottosphotofocus4696 Thanks for taking the time to let me know.
@@stevest55 Thank you for watching my video.
I worry about leaving small fibers behind on the mirror when using a q tip.
Good point. Microfiber is better.
