@@coralineschmidt1078 i feel like maybe we watched a different show because winstons little antics were definitely the funniest part of the show for seasons 3-6
Me too!!! Coach was my favorite and I was mad he left so soon. I was like who's this Winston dude but then Winston became the best character of the show!!! He was by far the funniest!!!!!
Right!! The second he said he loved coach and was mad he left I was like HE COMES BACK THO! But Honestly I like Winston way more than coach lol. I thought he'd have more of a reaction to that Cece actually ended up with Schmitt.
my favorite Winston joke of all time is when they were in the desert and Nick threw his keys and Schmidt went to find it and Nick was like 'oh r u worried about me' and Winston just goes 'no I'm worried about him, he's a Jew in the desert and I don't want him to wander'🤣
Holy shit I've never seen anyone else cite this as their favorite joke but I've always told people it's my favorite. I appreciate that despite this video being trash, the comments are jsut filled with people appreciating this show for being the absolute top tier shit it is.
The ending of the show makes a whole lot more sense when you've been exposed to over five seasons of Winston's terrible pranks. Always way too big or way too small.
Yeah I'm a bit sad how much he trashed it, he knows it's a fan service season. I know that it's not the best but I still love it because you grew with the characters and their awkwardness. Especially if you know what had to happen so that for example Jess and Nick could end up together you feel so much more when it comes to their wedding. Obviously he's not gonna get any joke. Like I know this is his thing but you can't get mad at something if you deliberately decide to leave out any context
It’s cause Dylan hasn’t seen the pool scene. If you haven’t seen that, then you don’t get how hilarious it is that he goes to Tran whenever there’s hard times. 🤣
Takes a long time for the writers to figure out Winston, but when they finally do he's outstanding. Cece and Winston are my favorite characters towards the end of the show, and their friendship is such a big part of New Girl to me.
The weirdness of the fight between Nick and Russell also comes from the fact that Nick always refers to Russell as the love of his life and that he is the only man both he and Jess have loved and Nick is well strangely obsessed with Russell
the “can I get a tampon” joke is basically making fun of how women might feel in a workplace with only men, because Schmidt is the only man in his office. it’s just switching the roles to make his female coworkers belittle him and not take him seriously
Yeah I noticed that Dylan misses or just doesn’t understand a lot of female centered commentary. You can see it in some of his past movie reviews; it’s a little disappointing
It's sad because I feel like out of all of them, Dylan would get along with Winston the best if they met in person. They'd be bird shirt buddies for sure.
Also, the actor who played Nick really did hurt his hand in that fight, which is why they wrote in the cast. It's when he catches himself on the edge of the door.
I came here for the New Girl jokes. The pilot is actually really good in context of the whole show. These characters are really defined for a pilot. I think it’s time to rewatch. I have NEVER heard anyone else say Coach is their favorite. I want Dylan to watch the whole show. It’s so funny. Coach is also my fav.
I love this show! I'm rewatching it again. I just HATE that the writers didn't make a Winston and Ally wedding 😡 We deserve a Winston and Ally wedding! You know it would've been 🔥
I agree up until the seventh season. I know that all the jokes may not have been constantly amazing episode to episode but I’m someone who judges jokes based off of my prior knowledge of how good the previous jokes are which is maybe why I enjoyed so much of the show
I swear, every “first and last” video dylan makes, he manages to have one specific opinion that frustrates the crap out of people who watched the show, and repeats it multiple times. for example, his distaste for Winston. Anyone who has watched all of New Girl knows how loveable he became, and hearing someone talk shit is triggering as hell 😂 i knew a bunch of people had left comments before i even looked.
Yeah it’s really a joy to get to know Winston throughout the series. Seeing the first and last episode ONLY would be a really incomplete look at his character. And I think I that makes him the most interesting and likable character on the show!
no especially bc coach was probably the worst character. hes a douche to jass, to the girls he dates, and then at the end he completely distances himself from the group even when they try so hard to include him. he was the least funny character with the least amount of jokes and character development.he literally gave nothing to the show. when he was there i was just annoyed most of the time. winston is so much better. hes literally like the male version of jess (especially bc of that music thing with the bells 💀) hes awkward and goofy and has a huge heart.
literally. i’m triggered and highly upset bc winston is THE BEST person on this show imo. he’s soooo funny and so lovable and honestly amazing. hearing him talk about how much he doesn’t like winston is really annoying
@@brianjulius6756 This makes a lot of sense. It always felt like an abrupt switch right out of the gate, and since it took a bit for them to develop Winston’s character I felt it left a bitter aftertaste for the first season. Having both Coach and Winston later is great, so I’m still a bit glad it happened the way it did, but damn was it jarring.
coach comes back though!! and you gotta give winston a try he gets so crazy and funny he honestly ended up being one of my favorite characters even though i was super bummed about coach leaving
it's clear that they didn't know what to do with Winston at first, but his character gets better as the show progresses, they also gave him a cat, so that's bonus points
Season 7 was 100% fan service for those that were actually invested in the series. So many great call backs + it focused on the growth/maturity of these characters, that by season 7, were in their mid-30s. Season 7 was no longer 5 unemployed single people shenanigans. They now had careers, families, houses, babies, etc. It was as much shenanigans that you could have by that point in your life when you’re responsible. I appreciate when a show displays real growth in their characters.
i've seen the first few seasons a few times but i always stop around when jess and nick start dating. I like them as a couple but all of the drama around their relationship felt exhausting and it made the show a lot less fun for me.
Right? As someone who loves good writing and television, Dylan would probably really like most of it. I hope he chooses to watch it some day on his own time
RIGHT?! I have loved all of his first and lasts, but new girl is by far my favorite show I have watched it beginning to end probably 10 times. And watching Dylan not be able to enjoy all the best parts just made me sad
Forreal, like this show isn’t something you watch one or two episodes and you’ll understand the humor and characters themselves. You literally have to watch it from beginning to end THEN you can be picky and judge-mental.
New girl is one of those shows that have inside jokes that just continually build on each other you simply cannot watch the first two and last two episodes and think it’s good. Also Winston is God tier.
I agree that the seventh season was like their weakest season but it was purely like nostalgia to past episodes and tying everything together. IM SO SAD YOU DIDNT SEE COACH COME BACK OR WINSTONS CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. Winston had a slow start in the beginning but once they developed who he was as a character he quickly becomes one of the best characters on the show. YOU should watch the first and last episode of each season OR JUST WATCH THE WHOLE THING. bcccc its amazing
I've seen this show in its entirety at least three times. I consider it my "comfort show." In my opinion, Winston was the best character and had the most interesting character development. Also the seventh season is not bad if you've seen the whole show and are familiar with the running jokes. Like keeping the lotion instead of just throwing it away is very on par with Nick's character, and his one-sided conversations with Tran were actually pretty funny.
The Nick finally publishing a book joke is funnier if you saw how it's been a running joke that he's been meaning to finish writing that book and had this goal of publishing a book for so many years but kept giving up, which is something you can relate to with your book you're totally writing that may or may not ever get released lol
I’m relatively confident the showrunner stole my life somehow. My name is literally Nick Miller, I took the LSAT and applied to law school and then changed my mind before I even started, wanting to be a writer instead, but now I can barely bring myself to write anything and languish away in service industry jobs. I’m not from Chicago, but I’m from close enough in the Midwest that I’m a Chicago sports fan. I even look a bit like him, at least in broad strokes, and I share a lot of the neurotic qualities that come off as quirky for a character on a show but are actually pretty debilitating in real life. It’s too much to be coincidental. Hell, at one point in the show he calls himself “Nicky Blue Eyes” in spite of the fact that the actor doesn’t have blue eyes. But you know who does? Goddamn straight. They gave him a nickname that fits me better than it does the character. It’s uncanny.
the real thing to appreciate about this show is that it’s not completely scripted. they were given a lot of freedom over their characters because the directors believed the actors knew them better. they’re all so weird and unique i love them!
Fun Fact: the actress who plays Jess and Coach went to the same highschool so they've been friends since highschool which makes their awkward but satisfying friendship just wayy better
Ha! The fact that this 30-something 20 year old YA writer had to look up the Babysitter’s Club too… pshh. Like there wasn’t a movie in the 90s or the Netflix show a couple years ago.
The fact he missed so many amazing moments like true American, nick meeting russel, Tran and nick is actually so good, Winston becoming an amazing character. Also this season isn’t the best but still gives suck great moments like Schmidt in his daughters school
I was a hardcore “WTF BRING COACH BACK!!!!!!” Fan, but Winston is freakin hilarious. You should watch the entire series. All of the actors are funny and endearing in their own way.
three things Dylan really missed out on not watching the whole show: winston being the best character (and his cat), the return of coach and the episode with prince in (who was a massive fan of new girl btw) also the actor who played coach did another pilot at a similar time to this pilot and when both shows were set to go ahead, he chose the other show
The 7th season isn’t bad when you fall in love with the characters as deeply as i have. I rewatch the entire show about 5 times a year to feel something.
The pink tie joke is funny, because he only works with women who harass him for being girly. When it's more regularly mainly men, who harass the only woman in the office. It's finest feminist critique and wonderful writing of Zoe.
@@smallfryskilledge1550 I agree, I bet there's more funny jokes regards this but this one was weak and it kinda gives "haha pink = gay lol laugh" vibes to me rather than that
What's the critique? Men harrassing the only woman especially if she's competition isn't unlikely. Women aggressively harrassing a man and screaming at him because he has a pink shirt or tie isn't very likely. The joke wasn't funny. It's a haha gaaay joke about a scenario that doesn't happen. I didn't get it.
So here’s the thing: New Girl is one of those shows that requires some level of investment. Sure, the 7th season isn’t great, but to people who followed the journey of the characters for months or years, it’s a lot funnier and just makes more sense in general. Honestly, I just recommend watching the show the whole way through. Completely worth it!
The defeats the purpose of this youtube series, and he does mention that people are going to say what you just said. The thing is, when it comes to tv series, every episode, to the best of their abilities, needs to be good enough to pull a new watcher in. Even the very end. You don't want someone to see snippets of a show and think, "Man, this looks dumb/boring/silly/etc, and decide not to touch it." While people shouldn't judge a series based on a single episode, they totally do.
I watched it three times for some reason and it just kept getting better, even the last season. It’ll always be my top favorite show for all long as I live 🤩
one reason i love this show is cuz i feel like i’m watching a group of friends just hanging out naturally like not every joke is hilarious not every great moment is completely great it’s all just real- it’s awkward it’s off beat and it suck’s sometimes !
I’m rewatching New Girl for the nth time right now. I think it’s truly worth a full shot. You spend 6 seasons watching these 5-6 people grow into well adjusted adults with families and careers. I would never recommend someone skip season 7. Sure it’s pure fan service but in my opinion it’s done so well!! Fan service isn’t always a bad thing. The crazy shenanigans are lesser so to adapt to their changed lifestyles. You finally get to see Nick and Jess get married. Winston has a kid! Ferguson dies! I love the seventh season personally. It’s the cherry on top of a perfect sundae.
The actor that plays Coach left after the pilot to continue on his other show, ‘Happy Endings’ and reappears throughout the show (especially after HE got axed). Winston easily becomes the best actor on the show and the most genuinely funny! I think season 7 was crafted as a love letter to the fans who lobbied so hard to get closure on the show but it definitely was major fan service and not necessarily peak writing.
the seventh season is filled with content that are basically inside jokes for all who have seen all 6 previous seasons. i actually like it because even though these storylines seem random, a lot of them are actually meaningful to the character development these people have gone through. but i must admit that they did jess’ character dirty and jess and nick deserved a way better wedding
OMG I AGREE! I felt like that episode was so cheap when you look at weddings in the past on the show (cece and shivrang for example) and it doesn’t really fit the demographic for the 7th season. People who watched and enjoyed the 7th season most likely watched the show for the storyline as well as the jokes and were more investing in the Jess nick ordeal. So it just feels off to have them have such a small, weird, and kind of unsentimental wedding. Like the eyepatch and the hospital and the dress were all just weird
@@Wxyzbbgyk but isn't that exactly their whole thing? I feel like it hit the nail on the head, bcs they are weird and cringey and plan for stuff to be perfect just to have it all go to shit every time.
New Girl is a genuinely hilarious show. The last season was a miss for the exact reasons you mentioned. But as for the rest, there are SO many iconic and hilarious moments I still quote to this day.
The show isn't just jokes and never was. It's wholesome, loving, sincere in many ways. Looking for jokes all the time just cheapens the heart of the show. Hopefully, you've watched the whole thing by now.
It honestly took a few episodes to establish Winston as the dorky lovable dude he became. Truly my fave character of the series. I think the writers were struggling with giving him his own persona because Coach was supposed to be the cooler one of the boys, but once they figured out the right direction with Winston he became the best roommate imo.
I honestly wish Dylan would have done the version of First and Last where he watched the first and last episode of every season. There's so much that he missed
OMG the episode where Winston and Jess have a heartwarming moment 🥹 I think it is either is s1 or s2 im not sure but it was like a wedding and everyone was rude to Jess and Winston wasn’t
I think this is the first time you’ve covered a show that I hold in super high esteem. It was interesting seeing the 7th season from your perspective. I agree with another commenter that it’s more of an epilogue type feel. I love it because I love the show, but I can see how, without context and deep abiding love of the characters and running gags, it can fall flat. Do you have to watch it? No. Will you want to if you’ve grown to adore this show over the years? Probably.
the best part of the show is the fact that it’s awkward and that sometimes it doesn’t make sense and it’s that sense of humor only a certain amount of people understand
Winston's whole thing with not knowing how to do mid tier prank is always hilarious. Either he does a prank that's really small and insignificant or he goes way too overboard.
the whole show is a certain type of humor that if you understand, you understand. it's not that deep to analyze it lol one of the best shows ever ever ever
@@comicalwizard664 i'm trying to say it's funny to certain type of people, not that it's this rare humor not many people understand. i just think it's dumb to judge a whole season off of one episode
I think the problem with the jokes in the last episodes is the context behind them. Like Nick's box of gross stuff for example. That's funny because at this point we know Nick as the type of guy to just put stuff in a box and forget about them. He did that for all his bills and explained the entire context behind it. It's a nice shout out to his true character and how parts of him never change
Dylan, you would love this series. Like, even the little things you said, like why doesn't Nick just through out the lotions (spoiler alert: he's a hoarder who has expired food under his bed), I feel like you would go back and watch this and be like "ohhh so that's why" and "oh it's a personality thing." And how dare you insult my boy Tran. Tran was one of my highlights of New Girl lmao. But you still manage to make me laugh with your videos, thank you so much! Keep it up
Tran (the silent guy that Nick talks to) is actually such a genius addition to the show. 2x07 Menzies is the one where Tran first debuts and it’s genuinely one of the funniest moments in the series. (Also, the way Dylan doesn’t even realize that the Phil Collins song was from 1x03 and it’s a callback to the slow-motion chicken dance they did in that episode, lmaoo💀)
I actually read a analysis that said that the writers wrote Winston too serious in the beginning episodes and so they cranked up his craziness slowly by intervals over the next two seasons until he became what he is now. That’s why I think he’s the most underrated character.
It's straight up not though. At one point, they talk about the building (I think it's not structurally sound or something), it used to be a cookie factory before it was made into loft style apartments. At no point was it ever a school...
I like that the scenes end on a weird note. Not always on the last laugh or strong joke because it brings you back to reality and the awkwardness between situations. It fits the show and if it was how Dylan described I feel like it would be like some Disney show.
Yeah exactly! The show is way more realistic and has a natural feel which is the main thing I love about it (besides the hilarious jokes and great acting)
seruously, the whol point of the show is deadpan humor. deadpan humor isnt always explosively hilarious, usually its funny bc of the way it makes you feel afterwards lol. this show is GREAT for making the people watching it feel as awkward as the characters in it.
I was thinking the exact same thing and this is why New Girl has such a different feel than all the other comedies. I just watched a video about the best 10 unscripted moments from the show and it talks about their freedom to improv, talk over each other, they way they had to set up the cameras for that. I find that stuff so interesting.
The 7th season was almost solely to give those who love the show the Nick and Jess ending we all wanted. You definitely have to watch the whole show to appreciate season 7.
okay having seen it all: you’re spot on 100% about when it hits, it’s the best, but when it doesn’t, it’s hard to watch. that’s a consistent feature of the entire show. winston was totallllly mischaracterized at the beginning of the show. he’s actually the best character.
New girl is a lot like the office in that you have to watch all the characters over time to be able to enjoy the casual viewing; it’s more of a comfort feel good kind of show than a show you watch for high energy emotions
@@paddyq3235 I forced myself to watch 3 episodes of the office to give it a chance and I just could NOT do it but my friend showed me new girl and I was hooked so fast lol
The Winston hate is making me sad; he becomes such a top tier character! Highly suggest finishing the series! The show is spectacular especially when Coach & Winston are both living in the apt! ❤️
New Girl is like my favorite comedy show. I think it’s top tier comedy. I do think season 6 is like the final epic of the show while season 7 is like the epilogue so it’s not as strong. But I actually like a lot of the final two episodes. I see why w/out context to a lot of stuff, that you’d find it unfunny but from a fan’s perspective, it was a great final episode. It stayed true to the characters. Something Dylan doesn’t know about is the time jump. All the characters have moved on since season 6 so not fully caring about the apartment makes sense. They had to do that long ago. And the joke of Winston’s final prank is great because the whole series run, he can’t figure out when a prank is too far or too lame. So I definitely recommend the show 100%. I love it!
i mean i was a big fan of the show and i felt really disappointed by the final season, it just ruined it for me, the way they ended s6 felt like such a good ending to the show, but s7 honestly gave me more questions than answers and just wasn't funny which isn't a good way to remember a final season to a show you'd miss, that's just me, but honestly wish they left it on a high note rather than a really low one
New Girl is one of the most underrated shows. It’s soooo good, such a weird comedy, I love it. I think season 7 is for the fans because it’s very emocional, but is not really that important, I think the last episode of season 6 is also a great ending. Ps: the joke about the guy that doesn’t speak is fucking hilarious, but you have to understand it.
actually there was a time when the joke with nick and old man who doesn't speak was funny! his first appearance in an episode was hilarious!! they have great chemistry lol
For the record they didn’t “get rid” of Coach. He wasn’t in the second episode and most of the rest of the show because the actor who plays him Damon Waynes Jr. chose to do another show, Happy Endings, instead. Also Winston’s character get so much funnier over time.
yes except he was contractually obligated to do happy endings and he only signed on to new girl because he didn’t think happy endings would get picked up
I cannot count how many times I’ve rewatched new girl and i’m gonna be honest i didn’t notice that the jokes weren’t as good in the last season. In my opinion, the last season is more sentimental because we get to see where all the characters end up. I think you should definitely watch the last season if you’re binging the whole show, new girl as a whole is just such an amazing show
I feel like there there’s so much lore to the show by the time you get to the final season the jokes don’t land unless you’ve seen the rest of the series. Like, I would be literally laughing out loud when he would say, “that’s not funny”
I loved how much improv was put into this show. My favourite thing that was created without much context was True America, a drinking game that involved so many weird things that were just made up. Winston really grew in character development, I know what you mean about Coach and its hard to let go of a good character so easily. But, Winston defiantly deserved his place after the second or so episode. I don't think you need the last season, but it's nice if you're really invested in the happily ever after storyline. You should watch more than the first two episodes though.
I will be honest. As someone who has seen almost every possible sort of modern sitcom (big bang theory, how I met your mother, friends, community, parks and recreation, Brooklyn 99) I found new girl to be the best one! I absolutely love it and I love Winston, give him a chance 😊 Also, Coach comes back for like a season WITH Winston.. imagine that! I’ve seen the show 3 times and it is my favorite. I do agree season 7 was more dramatic than others and less comedic, but I loved it! Zooey (Jess), Hannah (Cece) and Lamorne (Winston), have a podcast called Welcome to our Show, where they interview directors and guest stars as well as go in depth about the decisions on editing, jokes etc totally recommend to watch each episode and then listen to their podcast!
Yesss...I love sitcoms and new girl is also my favorite and I loved how it ended as well It actually pained me when he said the last season was trash😂😭 because out of all the sitcom endings, I think new girl was the best
I also think it depends on the kind of shows you enjoy because I could barely stand new girl after season two but loved all the other shows you mentioned 😭 I honestly don't know why
here’s the thing: New Girl is HILARIOUS. So so good!! Grand slam jokes. Like, the way you laughed with the second episode, that’s how it continues (although it goes down a biiiit not gonna lie. But it is still so GOOD! Last season is a flipping flop and i expected so much more from it. Guh. Phil Collins was probably the only good thing about the final. Not joking. Coach was awesome. I missed him so much so i feel you. Nick is A GEM. *chef’s kiss* man I could marry him. Jess best days were in those early ones, man she was such a good level of akward funny!! Winston gets so weird and funny, they really find who his character is by season 2! DYLAAN! You have to watch it. FUNNY.
You know a show is REALLY GOOD when the main character is absent during a whooole season and the other casts were still able to carry the whe show. Truly a unique show!
@liliana is that so? 😂 It's been sooo long since I've last seen the show and I truly felt that she was gone for longer than six. Anyway, my bad! But still, I truly never felt like she was "missing" for those episodes and that speaks volumes for the show's greatness
man i love shows like new girl, b99 (which i honestly think dylan would not like at all lmao), and modern family cuz when you watch the show in their entirety the characters just become so meaningful to you and the shows are just SO funny. new girl was at its peak in season 3/4 and i’m sad dylan didn’t get to see coach return and winston grow into everyone’s favourite character
Nick is the best character. He has some iconic, hilarious lines - “gave me cookie, got you cookie”, “i didn’t arrange for anyone to clear my search history yet. I’m not building a bomb, i was just curious”, “stop yelling at me or i swear to god I’m gonna fall in love with you”
'What's the name of that scissorhands guy? Rick Snip?' 🤣 I always love the bit where he says that being able to practise law is like riding a bike, then it cuts away to him being unable to ride a bike and he yells 'They changed these!'
"When I was 10 I once walked by my mother sleeping and I snuck in her room and I put a lemon in her mouth!" That line made me laugh so unbelievably hard 😂😂
please watch this series. the type of jokes you laughed at are definitely more frequent, schmidt gets less creepy, winston ends up being so goofy, nick always has incredible one line jokes.. please watch it
I would LOVE to watch dylan react to some of the funniest episodes like when Nick gets nervous and can't lie or that one time he was drunk...or showing winston's pranks lmao I would rather watch dylan laugh at these top tier jokes than actually watching all of it.
I remember being super annoyed that Coach left after the first episode too, but then Winston ended up being one of my absolute favourite characters, he's so wholesome
winston's character development really doesn't come in until later, also coach comes back later on for several seasons and it's perfect having both of them in the show
You would LOVE Winston as time goes on, he is definitely the funniest character on the show.. also 🤫 but Coach comes back several times, he’s not gone forever
“I don’t like this guy” Winston becomes the best character in the whole show, he really grows as a character and just becomes so weird
i had my fists up ready to defend winston, ESPECIALLY after he gets ferguson.
He got better when they started letting Lamorne Morris start pitching his own story ideas
Prank Sinatra ride or die
no he doesn't, they really did lamorne dirty
weird is not a whole charactee
@@coralineschmidt1078 i feel like maybe we watched a different show because winstons little antics were definitely the funniest part of the show for seasons 3-6

The weirdness of the fight between Nick and Russell also comes from the fact that Nick always refers to Russell as the love of his life and that he is the only man both he and Jess have loved and Nick is well strangely obsessed with Russell
Yes. That's why the fight looked more like Nick wanting to cuddle with Russel. It's funny with context.
the “can I get a tampon” joke is basically making fun of how women might feel in a workplace with only men, because Schmidt is the only man in his office. it’s just switching the roles to make his female coworkers belittle him and not take him seriously

Winston, Winnie the Bish, Theodore K Mullins, Prank Sinatra, my favorite character. He’s worth watching the series for IMO

Its what keeps the views high😂
no especially bc coach was probably the worst character. hes a douche to jass, to the girls he dates, and then at the end he completely distances himself from the group even when they try so hard to include him. he was the least funny character with the least amount of jokes and character development.he literally gave nothing to the show. when he was there i was just annoyed most of the time. winston is so much better. hes literally like the male version of jess (especially bc of that music thing with the bells 💀) hes awkward and goofy and has a huge heart.
literally. i’m triggered and highly upset bc winston is THE BEST person on this show imo. he’s soooo funny and so lovable and honestly amazing. hearing him talk about how much he doesn’t like winston is really annoying
Coach comes back for a little bit but Winston's character development is absolute chaos and I love it.
Coach was under contract with happy endings which got picked up for another season so he couldn’t do new girl
@@brianjulius6756 This makes a lot of sense. It always felt like an abrupt switch right out of the gate, and since it took a bit for them to develop Winston’s character I felt it left a bitter aftertaste for the first season.

You literally have to watch it from beginning to end THEN you can be picky and judge-mental.
this rlly shocked me to watch someone whose opinion i value dislike what i love but it was bound to happen.
Totally agree!!! I was yelling at my phone the whole time. I hope he does another video on the whole thing
It's my comfort show too!!
Same here! It's my happy place. But it does make me feel a bit old over 10 years later!
Nick and Tran was such a good duo
The seventh season isn’t that bad but I still skip it every time I rewatch it
so true! i think i’ve watched it like 4 times already
The Nick finally publishing a book joke is funnier if you saw how it's been a running joke that he's been meaning to finish writing that book and had this goal of publishing a book for so many years but kept giving up, which is something you can relate to with your book you're totally writing that may or may not ever get released lol
Omg Dylan is Nick lol
Oh yeah! He would have related to nick on a more personal level if he had watched the hole thing
So Dylan?
@@bovinejoni4243 Idk what else to add except "woah" but I don't want it to come off as sarcastic so please take my very much genuine "woah!"
the real thing to appreciate about this show is that it’s not completely scripted. they were given a lot of freedom over their characters because the directors believed the actors knew them better. they’re all so weird and unique i love them!

A lot of the lines were improvised, so the mix of scripted and unscripted probably made the show awkward at times
I feel the same way about friends.

Truly my fave character of the series. the best part of the show is the fact that it’s awkward and that sometimes it doesn’t make sense and it’s that sense of humor only a certain amount of people understand

I agree!!! Thats what i thought
If you keep watching it, you're gonna fall in love with Winston's character, he gets so much better with every episode

I love it!
I agree with every single word!
This was everything i was thinking while watching 😭
i mean i was a big fan of the show and i felt really disappointed by the final season, it just ruined it for me, the way they ended s6 felt like such a good ending to the show, but s7 honestly gave me more questions than answers and just wasn't funny which isn't a good way to remember a final season to a show you'd miss, that's just me, but honestly wish they left it on a high note rather than a really low one
New Girl is one of the most underrated shows. It’s soooo good, such a weird comedy, I love it. He is the best part of Happy Endings. I could have watched that show a lot longer.
It took them too long to stop trying to make Winston a replacement Coach and allow him to just become “the weird one” in the group.
I cannot count how many times I’ve rewatched new girl and i’m gonna be honest i didn’t notice that the jokes weren’t as good in the last season. In my opinion, the last season is more sentimental because we get to see where all the characters end up. I think you should definitely watch the last season if you’re binging the whole show, new girl as a whole is just such an amazing show
Season 1 is a masterpiece compared to the last one, the quality really dropped throughout the years
I feel like there there’s so much lore to the show by the time you get to the final season the jokes don’t land unless you’ve seen the rest of the series.
Yesss...I love sitcoms and new girl is also my favorite and I loved how it ended as well
It actually pained me when he said the last season was trash😂😭 because out of all the sitcom endings, I think new girl was the best
Have you watched superstore?
@@natgonzza I have, yeah! Didn’t think it was that good though 😅😓
I love New Girl, but I think Brooklyn 99 has to be my favorite
Truly a unique show!
that’s literally so true
Dylan loving the character coach and being disappointed that he left after the very first episode resonates sm with me
Same but Winston grows on you
@@lauriiss16 fr
@@lauriiss16 he really doesn't 😔 shoes too big to fill
But the character came back for seasons 3-7
@@lauriiss16 It took me like a season for me to get used to him and after watching the show a second time he became my favorite character 🥰
YES, season 6 is the real ending, season 7 is the "where are they now?" fanservice extra.
Nick is the best character. He has some iconic, hilarious lines - “gave me cookie, got you cookie”, “i didn’t arrange for anyone to clear my search history yet. I’m not building a bomb, i was just curious”, “stop yelling at me or i swear to god I’m gonna fall in love with you”
Who washes a towel? The towel washes me
'What's the name of that scissorhands guy? Rick Snip?' 🤣
I always love the bit where he says that being able to practise law is like riding a bike, then it cuts away to him being unable to ride a bike and he yells 'They changed these!'
"When I was 10 I once walked by my mother sleeping and I snuck in her room and I put a lemon in her mouth!" That line made me laugh so unbelievably hard 😂😂
was this the "background check' episode when Winston was becoming a cop and NIck was confessing everything to the woman in charge?

Hi I'm Julius Pepperwood. I'm from Chicago
I’m wanting the dedication for New Girl that you gave to FRIENDS- New girl is sooooo much better and season one is always rocky
Dylan: tries to explain what does and doesn’t work about filmmaking
Also Dylan: “How do you say salmon!?”
Who can say salmon tho? (Jk)
Dylan is giving me Nick + Schmitt energy and one day he’ll understand if he actually gives the show a chance.
Exactly this show has the full capability to become his new OC
no fr
Best representation of Dylan I've ever seen
please watch this series. the type of jokes you laughed at are definitely more frequent, schmidt gets less creepy, winston ends up being so goofy, nick always has incredible one line jokes.. please watch it
yep yep
We don't do recommendations here. We only worship our cult leader dylan
@@marianamartins2417 damn it i thought i escaped the ooga booga channel-
I HOPE YOU'VE WATCHED THE WHOLE SHOW BY THIS TIME BECAUSE WINSTON IS THE FREAKING BEST CHARACTER THERE IS!
I would LOVE to watch dylan react to some of the funniest episodes like when Nick gets nervous and can't lie or that one time he was drunk...or showing winston's pranks lmao I would rather watch dylan laugh at these top tier jokes than actually watching all of it.
Dylan would be dying at the popcorn machine joke
@@Ashely56 Omg that’s genuinely one of my favourite scenes in the whole show
@@Ashely56HE WOULD
Or the episode where all the boys teach each how to do normal chores and then build a fort, gold
Or when Schmidt gives him a cookie and he is weirded out by it, but then buys him a cookie back and it becomes this hilarious discussion
I remember being super annoyed that Coach left after the first episode too, but then Winston ended up being one of my absolute favourite characters, he's so wholesome
I wish Dylan would watch this whole show for his enjoyment! I think he’d like Winston and he’ll get to see more Coach 😂
same, lmaoo, it was heartbreaking knowing he didn't know Coach comes back, I'd pay money to see his reaction to seeing his return lmao
winston's character development really doesn't come in until later, also coach comes back later on for several seasons and it's perfect having both of them in the show
You would LOVE Winston as time goes on, he is definitely the funniest character on the show.. also 🤫 but Coach comes back several times, he’s not gone forever
