Only Shreya has the capacity to raise such topics and talk about the things no body wants to . Everybody is only concerned with buying , using and throwing without considering the fact that recycling can be done too. People arent really concerned with the damage they are doing to the environment. Demand is high and infinite brands are coming up in the market everyday, overusing the resources and not giving anything back to the nature other than damage 😭🥺

Refill pouches is something that companies should take in consideration... Conscious chemist has a facewash that has refills... I know L'Occitane has too... But no mid budget shampoo conditioner or anything has refills from any brands....
Please give us a list of brands that are doing better

I mean "How??" How on earth can someone be so knowledgeable and yet people don't love them. You're one such girl Shreya, hands down, the best this beauty industry has got ever. There could be many others but for me, it's only YOUUUUU You're the one who inspired me to start my channel on makeup and beauty and I hope one day I can be at least 0.0001% as good as you're!

Honestly, I'm glad to see more people questioning greenwashing, and it's nice that you're using your platform to encourage people to do their own research.
I would love to see another video (or two!) from you going over the buzzwords, fear-mongering, misconceptions, and unsubstantiated claims made by companies that hide behind "clean" claims.

Only way to be more environmentally conscious and reduce waste is buying less... We really don't need tons of lipstick just because some random insta girlie had.. We are just consuming so much of product nowadays in the name of girl math.. buying less is the only way to go...
So true. I think we should acquire this mindset of using only what we have and finish it first before repurchasing. But with social media and brands running B1G1, pink this, pink that sale, it's so hard to resist the urge to get that "must have"item that everyone raves about. I'm also trying to practice this but I have my bad days as well.
I believe Foxtale uses very thick and colourful plastic. It cannot be recycled at all. Which is why i am not willing to repurchase their any product

Love to see an Indian beauty content creator talk about sustainability! I feel that you have only scratched the surface, would love to see you chat about consumerism/capitalism in the beauty space. We as a community need to discuss how brands, influencers, and consumers can practice intentional need-based shopping
I think as consumers we could make choices like going for glass packaging and opt to shop from platforms that use cardboard packaging for the outer cartons and well as honey comb packaging to keep product safe, participate in recycling programme's, choose to buy products offline if we can and also try to buy refills for as many products as possible!! 💖
Yes refills is like the need of the hour along with the other things you mentioned.

Well done 👏 I sent my empties to plum and they have credited some points in my account. But I didn't use it coz I genuinely felt good that I started recycling and that itself is a big thing. All I expect from brands is to arrange pickup and I don't mind paying also. ❤ kudos to you for bringing up these topic.

The only OG who promotes its audience about to be more conscious about what are you buying, how you should be buying and when you should not buy? The clarity in the concepts needs a lot of efforts to make others aware about the product. Her project of picking products and using them, setting goals on usage is amazing. it made us all to once look at our shevles and get rid of what is not required before going ahead of buying something new.

Kindlife has a recycling program - they take any brand empties.
Plum takes only plum empties

Thanks for this video Shreya, more beauty influencers need to do this and utilise their platform correctly. Speaking of, what are your thoughts about brands that are not 'animal cruelty-free'? Personally, promoting such brands is downright wrong. However, one solution could be to mention that somewhere as a disclaimer like how one does with PR products.

I empty a lot of things like haircare, skincare, bodycare etc. I send 25 empties every month to kindlife for recycling. It’s just my way of being there. ♻️
Unfortunately even cosrx doesnt mention percentages- but they do reply about it in emails 😢

Lots of love ❤Shreya... i am your follower since your youtube inception....Such an important thing to consider about makeup and beauty...how easily we get drawn away to the marketing gimmicks not considering at all if it is enviornment friendly or chemical free and on a yearly basis we are consuming so much of chemical through these products and creating so much of non biodegradable waste our next generations are in big trouble because of us 😢

Lovely chat Shreya. One more thing if the cardboard packaging is coated with a layer of plastic or mixed material film to make it waterproof it becomes very difficult to recycle and most times it will not be accepted to recycle.
Also in the name of free from parabens either preservatives are not added which leads to products ruining very fast or other preservatives are added in much more quantity that leads to skin irritation and dermatitis on the skin.

Exactly...we ask for mirror in a compact but most of the times if we are travelling or at home...we do have mirrors n tht is something i dont think we even need.....these days companies are jst slapping the name clean sustainable and what not ...but the reality is something else, we have to be conscious about what we buy, if we use lot of products shuld make sure its recycled properly and most importantly only buy if we really need it not just coz some influencers are telling you need this in your life......we should stop impulsive shopping and be more mindful
