The melodies composed by Randy Rhoads are simply some of the most angelical yet haunting and beautifully arranged musical compositions for mankind's enjoyment for the ages ever written. Randy's lasting legacy is that his talents revolutionized the guitar as we knew it and forever changed and influenced future guitar players that followed. What could have been? Thank you Carl for tackling this beloved composition with your grace and talents.
Just want say Thank you for your lessons Carl, Randy and Eddie are hard to learn off the record player as a kid and now 40 yrs later I'm getting it thanks to you.
This is so good. I used to "try" to play this back in the 90's but never got past the intro. Randy was a huge inspiration for me. Thank you for all you do for us.
The way Randy composed this, that intro tells everything, beautiful melody, melancholy, sadness and sorrow all intertwined, humanities existence with mother earth....come on!
This song has always been my favorite RR composition. Back when I was 16 years old, I used to be able to play it (somewhat lol). Unfortunately, I gave up playing guitar when I got married in my early 20s. Now at 47 and divorced (hehehe), I going to start playing again. Hopefully I can still remember the basics of it. On a different note, RR was for me the most melodic player ever, the way he composed just hits different. Even after listening to his songs a billion times, it still gives me chills. RIP Randy. Great video!!!
I vividly remember getting this lead down pat back in high school. I almost wept and then screamed out loud like I had lungs of fire!!!! It took WEEKS for me to get it right. Lol, now here I am trying to play it through all over !!! What a talent was RR. God damn I miwss those days and Mr. Rhoads. AMAZING composer!
Every time I watch one of your Ozzy/Randy videos (which are excellent) I realize even more what an absolute genius Randy was, and that unfortunately I have no chance of ever playing like this 😂
Thank you for this video. I've owned the Hal book for "Tribute" for years but I always struggled with the middle classic guitar section. I can now play it flawlessly after learning from this video and practicing.
@34:21 "Thank Gawd, it's a long thing" That was extremely satisfying lol. Carl Brown just echoed the entire internet viewership of this video! Great lesson too!
thank you so much.i tough my skills were at their peak ,never tough i would be able to play this solo. Except my creativity . Youve improved my soloing capabities,my general skills, and the speed at wich i learn by watching you .At 36 y.o im supposed to be learning way slower than before. Before knowing this channel(5 years ago),i had learned RR tribute version of Dee and Bron-Y-aur(LZ) only with tabs and it took me for both 3 months practicing from 30 minutes to 2 hours a day before being able to play them flawlessly(with some minor adjustment to make it easier for me) Dee RR tribute and Bron-Yaur were really...really hard for me, and my hands..almost never forgave me those 3 months, the left for the pain and the right for the humiliation of never doing what my brain told it to do. Dairy of a Madman and now Revelation are 100%learned. both within 2 weeks(between 15 min and 2 hour of practice a day) The abilities to pause the video and practicing a section at a time till i get it and put it all together at the end is such an efficient way to learn. idk why its easier to learn with you than other channel.ty again
Simply majestic Randy was definitely the wow factor even when he played with Quiet Riot LA Superstar came out of the wood work and Randy was very generous to teach anyone to play RIP bro 🤘 Legends Never Die !! Randy Rhoads Thanks Carl
Yes, yes, yes, yes,... I can't believe my ears & eyes... You really are my Hero 'till the end of time, Sir! I think I am dreaming... Thank you, thank you, thank you...
Wow, I just can't keep up with all this great material that your putting out Carl. Doing my best tho and learning tons of technique and strengthening my guitar playing muscles. A thousand thanks my friend.
I can't believe this video is only from a month ago. I'm lucky I didn't try to find your lesson on this before now. I've been watching your videos for 8 years and I appreciate how much effort you invest into your content.
I figured this song out back in the 80s by playing along with the live album. But got a lot of it wrong. Especially the chords in the mellow part of the bridge. Those are freaking hard chords. Anyway, it's sooo helpful to see it done correctly - and especially all the way through! Thank you sir, I love your guitar lessons!
I like every single track off of Diary. Everyone that checks this out should sign up for the academy to support these lessons here on youtube. You're not going to find any like these anywhere else on the web.
WHO'S EVER GONNA WRITE ROCK SONGS LIKE THAT AGAIN?! WHO I ASK YOU! Just like there will NEVER be another rock song writer like The King EVH. That saddens me to no end. I just don't find better written rock songs. There have been great incredible songs, but not like how those 2 wrote hard rock songs. That bridge has been playing on constant repeat in my head all day and night for the past few weeks!!! BEAUTIFUL!
Thanks Carl!!! for adding another KICK AZZ CLASSIC SONG BY ANOTHER KICK AZZ Musician like Yourself. This was the 1st RR song I learned. I played this song at my music recital, all my instructors were taken back by the fact this song was written by a "Metal" guitar player, Ozzy's GP at that - EVERYONE had heard of Ozzy and his antics, on and off stage. Out of the 5 member panel, 3 bought the album(YES! That's how long ago it was) that day. I got an A in the Class.
Carl your lessons are the best I share your stuff and hope to join your academy thing this Summer I been playing 30 years and you are by far the best teacher I have ever encountered \\m//
Thats one of my favorites too. I might attempt it but it is Randy so ill probably only get some of it down. And I commented on your Instagram too the post of you playing Randys lead solo to this song
Excellent job, nothing unusual. May I ask you to do guitar lesson for Marillion´s Script for a Jester´s tears? In my opinion is great track and Steve Rothery does deserve a lot more attention. Thank you and keep on doing this perfect lessons, which helped me a lot.
Wow I forgot that back in the 80's I could play this all the way through. Guess I need to go back and relearn it. I prefer the studio album. The orchestration of this song ranks up there with Jungleland and Bohemian Rhapsody.
I'm a huge poison fan. You should do something to believe in BUT the acoustic version they did. There's no videos of it anywhere online to get idea of what he playing. Thanks
Hey Carl, i have request: Can you pleas do a guitar solo lesson to the song „Alles wieder anders/Kann weg“ from der W? Its a germab babd with big potential and i would to play that guitar solo infront of my Family. The not very popular and because of that there are no tabs what so ever Keep going!
