Top tip: Save time by only installing 4 out 5 wheel bolts.
Some day I’ll sort it out
80 percent is a passing grade 😂
@@POVwithRC Honestly, it's been 3 years. I don't really need that 4th one.
4 per wheel is more than enough. Some race cars only have one per wheel!
@@dheitz5830 I wanted to run only one lug nut but the ole lady said no and she's always right. My hands were tied.
Nice job! Good thing the 240s come designed as a wind brake ! Glad it all went smooth, the winter nights sure do eat up alot of wrenching time!
The joy of old cars! Always wrenching. Cheaper than a new car payment though

Just need to have a bigger presence lol
@@DeanofMachines "Don't force it. Just use a bigger hammer."
8:15 There would have been 1 of your neighbours wondering who's making all the noise by a hammer hitting a brake disk 😂😂😂
Thankfully, my neighborhood is incredibly noisy lol
@@DeanofMachines you don't say 😂😂
Nice score on that ratchet! I usually put anti-seize where the rotor meets the hub for the pleasure of the next guy, who is usually me!
I use the copper stuff!
As always a pleasure to watch and listening to your commentary Dean, pure gold and one for the Volvo field service unit education program.
Who need fancy snap on tools when you got an 240 caliber to whack things with?
Thank you very kindly Karl! I’m glad theres a few of us that get some joy out of my ramblings lol
I rarely remove the brake feed line from the caliper(s) when doing a brake job on Volvos - unless I'm replacing the calipers. There's usually enough slack or bend in the metal line to gently move it out of the way and then use a hanger to suspend it from part of the suspension (I hang the calipers from the spring).
I wanted to open the circuit to get old fluid out. I dont have a quality brake bleeding setup to pull fluid out.
Another excellent video! It was probably a good idea that you addressed the flashy Snap-On ratchet as I’m sure some of my fellow hillbillies are green with envy. Don’t give in and cater to the snark, keep doing your own thing. That’s why your channel works.
I appreciate that David! The kind words are always welcome.
Sounded like you had to take that second to go do a wipe check.
That my friend is what we call a code brown.
A little lube shows you care 🤣🤣 I spat my brew out 🤣 great video dude. I really want a 240 so bad
They grow in the woods around these parts apparently!
@@DeanofMachines those are the sorts of gardening jobs I would like then 🤣
Thanks YT for suggesting!
Also! Idk what your plans are for the ole gal there but it would be sweet to lock in that patina with some Poppy’s patina! Or other clear!
This silver wagon will probably just stay as is, waxed and original. I have been meaning to try some poppys though!
@@DeanofMachines that wagon is super clean!
@@HowtoRestoreHeadlights You aren't wrong my friend!! It's the nicest I've ever had.
Hey good buddy, hope you're doing alright?
Firstly I'd like to apologize on behalf of all the gardeners, sorry about the noise, those Sthil napsack blowers are particularly f**king loud. I used to get abuse weekly because of those.
I used to find tools all the time, stuffed in hedges, im guessing from fleeing crims, including a 9mm snap-on ratchet spanner, although not sure what crime that would help.
Anywhoo, keep up the good work dude, love the channel 🤘
I just don’t understand why that guy had the trimmer and he was free range trimming at random.
@@DeanofMachines In order maintain certification as an Organic Landscape Care Mechanism, one has to demonstrate that the trimmer experiences at least 37.235% of their time in free range mode.
I had the exact same issue trying to reconnect my front caliper hard line. The threads just wouldn't connect up and I stripped it. So, I spent a few days on ebay finding a new set of used hard lines. They are getting hard to find.
Some fittings and some NiCop brake line and a flare tool. It's a lot of money for that ONE TIME you need to make a line however. Usually VP Autoparts is my go to.
Nice job Dean like allways! Take a shower and go to bed , you look tired! Big 👍🏻👍🏻 🆙!
One day after another lately!
It shows! You can’t keep your eyes open and the ability to speek is completely gone! 😂😂😂
@@arieplomp8906 Well I could never speak that clearly and I lived in Japan for 6 years. That'll explain most my problems lol
Cool sound track 👍😂, it is almost as bad as “the bells of doom” on Involvo’d channel 🤗
I watch his channel simply for the bells of doom!
Doesn't sound good to have brakes fail! At least you're okay, that's the important part. Should be good for a while now that you've given the brakes some TLC.
Not looking forward to retrofit later brakes on my Amazon. I have a feeling something small, but important, has been forgotten and will add another two weeks to the project. 😅
It wasn't out of no where. They kind of gradually got worse until they squealed a bit. I saw it coming!
And as far as adding two weeks to your project, you already know it's going to be something silly that will hold you up!. I hope this is not the case.
Fuel pump relay and /or fuel pump fuse connection corroded... Typical...
More of the same!
Hey Dean! This reminded me the time when I was fixing my 240 brakes like 2 years ago 😅. Your front calippers have only 1 line? Are they converted to single circuit somehow?
My 93 has ABS
@@DeanofMachinesAh. That explains.
@@marcinbujok7388 Funny thing is, All of my 240's are ABS cars!
Spray the inner of the rotor. Ten years away someone else sits there with a hammer...
That's true. It's always the easiest part that can be troublesome lol.
😂😂😂
You install calipers with damaged piston dust cover... wtf....
Diplomacy. Relax tazzie.
I sure did! I didn’t notice the damage to the boot until editing.
so is an 88 240 a classic?
In 1993 the 240 had a trim package called “Classic”. It had a number plaque on the dash and the mesh wheels.
18:47?????? crazy noises
Could be anything
😎👍
Hello Lunkan! How are things?
