You can pick up a launch Xbox One right now for under $100 in most places, and it has a ton of great games you can play. If you've never been part of the Xbox ecosystem, there's also Game Pass with a huge built in library of games, and the first party Xbox One games never leave that library. Had a lot of fun recording this, trying to get content out a bit faster now. Thanks to everyone who decides to watch my video!
I bought an Xbox one X recently on Marketplace for $100 and I love it. Not only are there great games, but the back catalog of OG and 360 games is insane as well! A must own system!
I own every model of xbox spanning from OG to Series X and easily the best is xbox 360 followed by OG xbox, if you are looking in terms of games on offer. In terms of bang for your buck, easily series S.
You can buy the original VCR looking Xbox One for just $100 now. A console that’s still getting new games 11 years later because companies and players won’t move on to the current systems, has access to Xbox Game Pass, can play both digital and physical games, can play a lot of Xbox 360 and og Xbox games, and can also be used for TV and music since you can use it for streaming services, DVDs, Blu-Rays, and Music CDs. The Xbox One sounds like an amazing deal rn.
I've seen them for $80 regularly actually. And yeah, it's wild because all the big games like Call Of Duty, FIFA and Madden still come out for the Xbox One, and games like Fortnite, Roblox, Minecraft and Apex Legends are all still updated on it all the time.
@@thegamethrifter Yeah. The PS5 and Xbox Series X|S barley have any of their own games because companies are STILL releasing games for the PS4 and Xbox One. No wonder the new systems haven’t sold that great, it’s almost like people still see almost no point in upgrading since the console they already have is still getting most new games. 2017 was 4 years into the Xbox One and PS4’s life, were we still getting as many Xbox 360 and PS3 games back then as we are Xbox One and PS4 games now? I think the focus had mostly shifted to the current systems by 2017. The PS4 still isn’t even discontinued, and even though the Xbox One was discontinued 4 years ago at the end of 2020 when the Xbox Series consoles launched, the Xbox One is STILL getting new games years later. I think when a new console generation releases the last gen systems should still get some new games (but not all new games) for at least 1-2 years, not everyone is able to upgrade immediately. But after 1-2 years I think they should just fully move on from the last gen systems and only release games on current gen. The fact that the PS4 and Xbox One are STILL getting almost all new games 4 years into the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S’s life is ridiculous.
Oh and another thing, Microsoft said that they would stop releasing first party games on the Xbox One and only focus on the Xbox Series X and S. But I guess that was a lie since Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 is releasing on the Xbox One, and Microsoft bought Activision so Call of Duty is first party on Xbox now.
@@JaceAVinson Next gen will be even worse, I'm not sure the older systems will ever be discontinued, or at least for many, many years. Mainly because gaming is all about the Live Service model, and it doesn't take much to run that type of game.
@@JaceAVinson I think it's because last gen versions were already well in development, and they want to make as much money as possible. Starfield probably couldn't run on an Xbox One, and I know Hellblade 2 couldn't lol
Xbox One X with an SSD upgraded is still a fantastic modern console. I'd recommend it if not for the Series X being so cheap, it was being sold for $349 new during December. XB1 is now basically obsolete like the PS4 thanks to the PS5/XSX having backwards compatibility and even improving PS4/XB1 games.
I own a Series X and Series S, both awesome. But I did give my One X to my son and he loves it. I think the fact that games like Fortnite, Apex, Roblox and Minecraft are all still on Xbox One and updated, it makes it still viable.
That's awesome! I tend to like some fun games even if they're not always highly rated. Sometimes I find that some games are made for gamers and not critics
The main advantage of the Xbox one and series x is the 360 and Xbox backwards compatibility even if it is limited, I love the ps4 and 5 but not being able to play disc based ps3 games on them is a shame (ps now streaming sucks)
I had a weird childhood as i always got gaming consoles late like playing ps1 in 2008 ps2 in 2012 xbox 360 in 2017 and xbox one in 2022 and soon in 2025 xbox series but even tho im barely catching up im enjoying the process and xbox one was and will always be one of the greatest upgrades i ever had
the one x performance is awesome still...playrd halo infinite downloaded and cloud and it ran smooth as butter, looked amazing, only had a few glitches at launch. Gears 5 runs smooth, all the newer titles it allows me to download tun smooth just longer load times than cloud streaming which makes sense..
A One X with an SSD Upgrade is still a solid option imo for gaming at 4k. The UI is snappier and loading and even download times are improved by a lot cause there is no bottleneck anymore from the HDD
I know a lot of people just like you! Funny enough, Fallout 76, Elder Scrolls Online, PUBG, Fortnite, Apex, Minecraft, Roblox are all still updated regularly on Xbox One and PS4. Many don't feel the need to upgrade.
@@autobotstarscream765 It's been a rough generation in my opinion. Very little in terms of great new games. There's been some amazing stuff for sure, but not quite convinced worth upgrading yet.
I recently got a Xbox one back in November last year (2023) over the last 5 months I'v been having so much fun with the Gamepass I only had a 1TB hd but getting a external HD from amazon. I got a bunch of games in my back catalogue, that i have missed during the last 10 years (Halo/GOW/Forza/Dead Rising/Sunset OverDrive) and so on.
Psychonauts 2 is honestly such an amazing game. I played the first one as a child and it was wonderfully show my daughter this game and play it with her.
@@siyandakomanisi7154 Game Pass? Well you get Game Pass and then go to the "Game Pass" tab at the top and it'll open all the games available. Then you download what you want and play!
I have limited money and wanna buy a xbox, cant find any xbox one s or x in my area but there is a xbox one. should I buy it? I wanna play new gen games.
I have a PS5 and want an Xbox. I can't find a reasonable price of the One S working, which is my ideal solution but I can find an OG XB1. Would this be recommended? My TV is 1080P. Also, can I use gamepass ultimate on it?
For a 1080p TV the original Xbox One is fine. Game Pass will work on it, BUT there's certain current gen only games that wouldn't work on it like Starfield.
For me, I have invested in a 3D projector and the Xbox one is ideal because it plays 3D Blu-ray movies. I have an extensive library of 3D movies as well as 360 and Xbox one games! It’s a “win win” situation for old school gamers like myself.
Got back into console gaming about a year ago. Since then ive picked up a PS2 fatty boy, PS3 slim, a rgh modded 360 (which i play more than my ps5 btw lol) a regular 360E, a PS5 that i picked up back in 2020, and tomorrow im picking up a One X for 120 so i can hop back on gamepass. i had a Series X for a couple months and honestly i played it more than my PS5 and thats saying something because i grew up as a PS kid lol
I wish i still had my Xbox One I'm not a huge gamer but i upgraded anyway, yeah i tried Game Pass but its not really enough for me i wish i never spent the money.
i still got the xbox one s and still it is a powerful console, i played several games on it including the latest forza horizon 5, it runs great on my xbox. i might will upgrade and get a series x in future.
Gears of War 6 and the next Halo will almost certainly be Xbox Series exclusive but those are probably a ways off. If it's all you can afford right now, combined with Game Pass and Xcloud to play more recent titles. Its not a bad combo.
I remember the joy I had with the 360 so I was so excited when I picked up my Xbox 1, but waiting around for a good games while PS4 were bringing out hit after hit was torture, so made the decision to sell it and brought PS4 and it turned out to be the best decision I've ever made. The End.
Well at launch and year 1 Xbox One certainly had more games than PS4 to my recollection? Dead Rising 3, Killer Instinct, Ryse, Forza 5, Titanfall, Sunset Overdrive, Halo MCC and Forza Horizon 2 in year one. PS4 had Knack, inFamous Second Son and Killzone Shadowfall. Took Sony a bit to get going.
@@thegamethrifter to be fare man a lot of them game you mentioned flooped, I personally i injoyed sunset overdrive but it didn't do well, Dead rising got bad reviews, halo bad reviews I think it got 6 out of 10 which is crazy seen as Halo is XBoxes Mario.
Halo MCC was an 85 Meta, Dead Rising 3 was a 79. Knack from Sony was a 54. Sunset Overdrive sold around 2 million copies, which isn't terrible and pretty inline with what the latest Ratchet & Clank did on PS5. @@mrpucklepops4447
Hi! If I could get a quick response to my inquiry, that’d be great! So, I’m thinking of trading my Series S for an Xbox One, likely the X model. At the time of this writing, my GameStop will offer $165 for it and a pre owned One X is $199. So, it’ll mostly cover the cost. Mainly, I’m considering this because i prefer physical media, I already own a PS5 and with many Series X titles reportedly coming to the console, I dont see a reason to own a Series and I’m concerned about Microsoft’s longevity for support for the Series S. That and I mostly wanna play 360 and some old OG Xbox games. Do you think that’s a good idea? Or should I really get a Series X
I would get a Series X (I own a Series X and PS5). Reason being is that Microsoft will likely keep some games exclusives, or at the very least exclusive for at least a year or two? Plus the Series X is backwards compatible with all Xbox One games, over 500 Xbox 360 games and like 60 original Xbox games. And has FPS boost and Auto HDR. So I think there's value in owning both consoles. Also, Game Pass is a cool way to try out the Xbox games first to see if you like them. Hope this helps!
I remember having my Xbox One (the base one) and playing games awesome games on it all the time, most of the games on here you named are my main games on my Series X which are Titanfall 2, Halo and Gears 5. The Series X is a beast and one of the best consoles Microsoft has ever made and if for anyone that doesn’t have one I’d suggest they get a One X and put a SSD in it, cause even though it’s not as strong as the Series X and no quick resume you can still play games in 4K. The only thing I’d be worried about if I still owned my Xbox One or if I just bought one is how much longer it’d be supported, cause once Microsoft stops making games for it and there is no more game pass it’s pretty much just going to be time to move on to another console like the newer Xbox’s. Cause they are good consoles to and I kind of enjoy my Series X more than I did my VCR Xbox One, Microsoft is doing a good job this generation with the Series consoles.
Well Series S has 500gig HDD and can't play discs. So Xbox One could be a better choice for many, and any USB 3.0 HDD will allow games to be played right off of them. Also, disc games are super cheap right now.
Is it really worth buying a Xbox One in 2024 if you have an Series S or X Probably not. Does it have more backwards compatible titles? I don't think so. It does have the ability to use Kinect and the TV Tuner etc though.
If you own a Series X it's not worth it. Series S is digital only, so if you're into backwards compatibility with physical discs it's worth it IMO. Xbox One X is a fantastic console as well, and does a lot of enhancements on BC games.
I have all Xbox, Playstation, and some of Nintendo consoles, thousant games, and I believe that Xbox One is the best and most powerful. After ten years from release it still holds great with hundred fantastic games. By my opinion, some masterpieces are: Dirt Rally, Call Of Duty "Advanced Warfare", Dirt 4, F1 2020.
Ehhhh, I always thought it looked like a cross between Jet Grind Radio and the monsters of Crackdown 2. But it's one of the coolest games I've played. Insomniac Games did such a great job with it.
i still have this old vcr, probably gonna use it to play halo with buddies or whatever. i still have a lot of 360 games i want to play as well, but i don’t believe there’s any graphics benefit on the original one. if i play a lot i might just get a used type s/x or something, but id rather not turn this brick into e-waste
Im still using my xbox one haha only version of xbox that gives you an additional “HDMI in” port to hook up whatever you want to it🔥 and you can use the xbox series x controller with it 🤘🏾
I have original Xbox One halo bundle I don't play no more I play Xbox One s and x and xbox series s and Xbox series x i play the xbox 360 more then the other xbox consoles the best game for xbox one is sunset overdrive
For me "Ori and the Blind Forest" and "Forza Horizon 4" and "Tintenfall" the best exclusive Xbox One Game 💚 Best Xbox One game is for me "The Witcher 3" and "Red Dead Redemption 2" ❤
@@muhamed23458 you right ori and the blind forest part 1 and part 2 are good and Titanfall 2 and quantum break also good ones I have them all I have about 60 PS2 games 40 PS3 games 135 PS4 games about 5 ps5 games only exclusive ps5 games and I have about 8 Xbox original games and about 100 Xbox 360 games and about 20 Xbox one games and about 30 Xbox One s games and about 20 xbox one x and i have about 4 xbox series s and about 4 xbox series x games
I have the xbox one of my brothervin law. There are a few problems with it. The disk reader makes weird acute sound while spinning disk, the disk often won't eject and the hoke stuff seems broken. But the digital games are wirki g okay except... Some games acheivements are not popping until I go to the menu. ... Also this console was build thinking people were wanting a gand free device multimedia etc... Kinect etc... It failed. Also even if for me graphins are very good. Xbox was always first person shooter oriented and with age I kinda feel ..it's repetitive. I felt PS4/5 have more adventure deep story games like Beyond Two Souls Heavy Rain etc.
Heavy Rain And Beyond Two Souls were 2nd party games, but Sony ended that relationship. Actually, Detroit Become Human was far better than either of those. Microsoft has come a long way though, this year they have Hellblade 2 releasing in May, Avowed (which is an RPG by Obsidian) and Indiana Jones all coming out! They've really evolved away from the shooter box.
I have the one s and it’s too slow and I don’t have enough storage. I was thinking of the one x to upgrade to since it’s the cheapest upgrade and just install a new SSD into it
Great video! You forgot Gears of War Ultimate (which I know is a remake, but it does have some extras) and also Gears Tactics. So that's 8 Gears games on one console. Good point about critically acclaimed games catering to critics. I have personally enjoyed many games that got around a 6/10 rating.
Dude….stop dropping your voice dramatically low at the end of sentences. Good video and had some good areas 3-5 minutes especially, when you talked faster and didn’t linger on the the last word of sentence…well, until “…Xbox oneeeeeee”…..then “…well worth whilllllllllllle” lol Good info though!
The best option for playing Xbox One games is a Series S or Series X for backward compatibility. If you already have a One X, I'd recommend the Series X. If you have a One S, base Xbox One, or are new to the Xbox ecosystem and have few or no physical games, get the Series S. Imo, there's not much reason to buy a One X because you can get a Series S for $50-100 more and it will play newer games like Starfield, Suicide Squad, Frontiers of Pandora, and all upcoming Xbox 1st party games like Hellblade 2, Avowed, Fable, and Indiana Jones.
Thing is, you can buy physical Xbox One games really cheap. Series S is digital only and has limited storage and expensive storage to add on. Xbox One any USB 3 HDD will let you play games right off it!
@thegamethrifter Xbone + discs is definitely the budget combo imho unless you want to live entirely on Game Pass or fee-to-pay games. The discs are plentiful and going for cheaper than the digital versions!
Are you talking like that on purpose, the tonal change at the end of every other sentence. It’s like you’re tryna add a more dramatic tone to it lol. Just my observation, I’m liking the video btw.

As a fan of the 360, i must admit that i was a hater of the One when it came out, i thought the PS4 was WAAAY better. Now i know how wrong i was, the Xbox One was a great console, especially the One X, i'm thinking about getting one soon for the games i missed on, the backwards compatibility and the more modern cross gen games.
Xbox One X is amazing! Still one of my favorite consoles of all time. It was such a cool thing to game in 4K for the first time on so many games. Really wish Microsoft would have had more first party content to take advantage of it though, but overall fantastic!
It's capable of playing hundreds and hundreds of Xbox 360 games, many of which are enhanced for free and have Auto HDR. There's also a ton of awesome games from the era to play.
These videos usually fail me somewhat so ill leave a small list of some of my favorite xbox one games. Asphalt 9 Vampire Survivors Army of Ruin Borderlands 1-3 Brotato Risk of Rain 2 Dying Light Fortnite Forza Horizon 4&5 Halo Master Chief Collection High on Life Lies of P (lite soul) Metro Exodus Mass Effect A Plague Tale Requiem Remnant Robo Quest Saints Row 2&3(2 best) Shadow Warrior 3 Bright Memory Warframe Bioshock Infinite Black Ops 3&4 Dishonored Diablo 3 Mad Max Metal Gear Solid V Minion Masters The Outer Worlds Red Dead 2 Prey Tomb Raiders Ryse Son of Rome Slay the Spire Fable 2&3
Tragically, these games - while backwards-compatible on current Xbox Series consoles - are not at a higher resolution/higher frame-rate. Imagine how more amazing would Sunset Overdrive play running at 4K60 or Ryse running at 4K.
@@autobotstarscream765 - I have not. I have the game on disc, but have yet to play Sonic Unleashed on current Xbox consoles. One would hope it looks & runs amazing.
I think one of my points was lost a bit in all of this. Some people are on a budget or have kids that want to play Fortnite or Apex Legends, Minecraft and Roblox. An Xbox One is a solid option for those people. And it's cheap, and those games all still get updated .
@@thegamethrifter Is there a good all in one list for games that work on it or still get updated? This is my first time having an xbox so i’m a bit confused, sorry!
the Xbox one x still performs very well for me, but got mine un 2020 literally right before they stopped selling the one x and one s and one, it cloud games fine, runs smooth and even with newer games load times is still under a minute so other than them pushing graphics harder than they need to there is literally no reason why we're 4 years in this generation and it hasn't given me a real reason to upgrade...
Still got the one, it only needs an SSD and it'll run like a champ, with the price of this thing and its endless game library, it feels like a too good to be true kind of bargain.
I’ll be honest, the Xbox One had a pretty strong launch lineup compared to the Series X. Had its marketing not left such an abysmal dent on its success, it would have nearly stood toe-to-toe with the PS4 in sales. Fast forward to present day, and Xbox marketing remains a mess. Game Pass is just not reeling as much customers as it once did when it launched, and the Series consoles are struggling both in stock and advertising. Makes me wonder if Microsoft has any faith left in Xbox? I can hope that’s not the case…
Microsoft wasn't marketing Xbox for the last couple of years because they were trying to buy Activision and going through court battles. I believe they definitely believe in Xbox and this years lineup is pretty sweet. Indiana Jones, Hellblade 2, Avowed and more all coming.
I prefer story games such as Life is Strange, Control, Alan Wake remastered, Bioshock trilogie System Shock remastered, Max Payne, Tales from the Borderlands Batman trilogy Prey. Etc.
Your video makes no sense. You can buy everything and play it on the new system Xbox series X might as well play it on there runs a lot better looks a lot better loads a lot faster everything not only that they’re gonna start turning off certain things for Xbox one in the first place pretty soon at least that’s what Microsoft is saying no longer updates because the dashboard does have to be updated on there too and it’s hard to keep that system going when they do have the new systemsall your games and everything like that would still work but no new updates for it which means no more of the new games that come out because they’re already stopping that too so recommend just buy the new system in the first place. It can play everything.
How doesn't it make sense? You can pick up an Xbox One for $100 and games like Fortnite, Apex, Roblox and Minecraft are still updated. It's incredibly cheap, especially if you have kids who are into things like Fortnite. Even a Series S is $300. Not everyone has that type of money. On top of that, not EVERY game plays or runs better on Series X. Only certain ones.
So what exactly will happen when MS stops releasing console updates for the xone? The console will still keep working and you'll still be able to play games OFFline right?
PS4 is still probably better by comparison since the internet isn’t always guaranteed to work all the time. I won’t give Xbox One any praise for all of their games being super cheap because that’s just the crappy economy right now. But it is nice to be able to get almost any game for half the price or maybe $2 for Titanfall 2 at GameStop. Now if Xbox Live was free like PS3’s PSN and offline gaming functionality was a lot better with guaranteed disc installations so I can play the games I own, then I could recommend it 100%. If you do get anything from Xbox, I would recommend the controller since it’s built like a brick and works on almost anything through bluetooth. Frankly I’m not opposed any which way, and it does have its uses like playing Xbox 360 and being cheap. Better luck with Series X I guess. I’m still going to pirate stuff on pc.
I dont think theres a real reason to own a xbox one or ps4. The XsX and PS5 make them obsolete. I can understand if you are giving it to a elderly person that wants to watch netflix but otherwise anything you can play on a xbox one will run on a series x and run it better.
Well think of it this way, there's very few games that are current gen only. Not everyone cares about 4K or 60fps. If you can pick up a cheap Xbox One or PS4, there's a massive back catalog and even new games still dropping for them. Sony's biggest games this gen for instance, God Of War Ragnarok, Horizon Forbidden West, Spider-Man Miles Morales and even Gran Turismo 7 are all on the PS4 as well. Microsoft has a ton of games on Xbox One and Game Pass has them in one nice package. IF you have kids or something, why not start them off with a $100 console instead of $550?
@@thegamethrifter ive factored that in, its not just about the exclusives, my big reason for getting current gen was to play those games in that back catalog in its best possible form without going 4 figures into a PC. Yes you can pay 100 for a xbox one and get gears of war 4 and enjoy it at 20-30fps but it does hinder the experience. If i had kids they would be using my system so id rather drop $550 then $650. It would make more sense to get a 360 and OG xbox so they could play the games that don't play on a xbox one/series X if you were going to get them into a back catalog of games IMO
It's a fair console & games/back compat, Impulse Triggers before HD Rumble and Dualsense haptics. Not the same but still fun for Gears reloading and racing games assist, also yes media playback. CD in PS4 nope Xbox yep. Changes were fair and also disappointing. I love I can use a CD player, Blu ray app and any music app I want not just Spotify and the generic media player on PS4. Is the touchpad on a Dualshock 4 fun yes but that's not enough. Online check in did suck but they removed it yep. I was used to both consoles but from mostly into PS but enjoyed the odd Xbox. Now Nintendo first party more and third party on both PS4/Xbox One yeah..... I pick up odd Xbox One first party but it varies what I find or care for. If people want cloud they can. Xbox One can be seen as unnecessary but I still like it. I don't care to upgrade for the 2022/23+ games. Many 2020-2022 games are fine now. I don't use Gamepass at all or cloud so for physical they are pretty reasonable prices like PS4. I never used remote play on it still I need to. I have PS4 a fair amount on Vita and phone. I need to use the Xbox remote play at some point. Enjoyed it on PS4/Wii U Off TV play and the entire dual screen idea of Wii U. RIP SmartGlass as second screen before remote play I assume it got better morphed into on Xbox. But still. I hate the lacking Windows 8 like features people TV TV over or SmartGlass in favour of social features I don't care for but I use my Xbox One as a Blu ray player over a PS3, back compat and select Xbox One games. People forget Fuse or Song of the Deep were on Xbox One, but may Sunset Overdrive even if it's on PC. Sunset is fun. I hated the dialogue at first but loved it on a replay and went nope I need to finish this the gameplay, the tower defence, the rail grinding, it's not Scaler on PS2/Xbox/GameCube rail grinding speed or obstacles but it's still cool. Weapons are fun and perks are fair. Its one of my preferences of open world design then the formulaic ones I prefer platformer ones or more interesting side missions. The lack of Project Gotham Racing made me go eh Forza Motorsport 5-7 and Horizon just don't cut it. I played PGR1-4 in 2020 and loved them. Forza Motorsport 1-4 too but 5-7/Horizon 1-5 don't do it for me. No interest in any Horizon game personally. Played 1 and 3 little bit and don't like them. Played Burnout Paradise didn't like it either. But played a fair bit of it. Prefer the other Burnout games more. Layouts of streets are more fun then the open world and fair tasks but not as fun or eh races and lacking events even old circuit racers do better. It's a fair console. I prefer OG/360 more. More exciting games but still the Xbox One has some fair titles. I don't find PS4 2016+ direction of cinematic games exciting only Gravity Rush or Knack 2 or Dreams. Very select gameplay focused titles. In 2017/2018 I got a Vita and Wii U and went full Nintendo consoles I missed besides third parties on PS4. Even Xbox One I went third party mostly. Sure I owned State of Decay 2, I own Crackdown 3 and Forza Motorsport 6&7 later then when they came out. Quantum Break even. I haven't started Crackdown 3 but I am open minded having never played the series but enjoying Infamous or Sunset Overdrive. Same with Driver people hate the 3DS game it was my first before San Fran but I'm open minded. One X you notice the enchantments. The Kinect is fine for Just Dance or certain games. Some launch titles use Kinect in some ok ways but it's a fair non gaming peripheral in other industries for tracking people in medical or other use cases. I agree the TV and media focus is a bit much and the COD/sports focus. I don't like Forza Motorsport 5-7, 6 is the worst to me. 5&7 are fair games but not strategically fun just more dumbed down then past entries event variety and less car candy per level. Halo 5 is a fair game, weak story but fair levels. Even 2 balanced the Arbiter and Chief 5 didn't with Locke too much. Blue team were more exciting like Reach's squad you follow. Gears 4&5 was better. Sunset Overdrive is great. Ryse is good if you want God of War or Hellblade but in Rome in terms of camera and hack n slash elements of a certain amount. Not 1 to 1 they do differ but Godhand has a similar cameras put further back and more moves. So these cinematic games too close to the character bother me. Crytek tried but it got annoying fast. I may keep trying but yeah like Order 1876 I get what they were trying to do but it lacked in areas. I replayed 1886 last year few a month ago. Rare Replay is great. ReCore is underrated. Love that game. Not perfect but still fun. Lucky's Tale is on other platforms and better camera and more content but the Xbox One version is fair. A fair platformer. For a VR to Xbox One to refined later for the other platforms. Demon Turf is Series and Xbox One but physical is good there. Yes it's on other platforms but it's digital only. Xbox physical which is a surprise but a good platformer. The Xbox One for first party are they impactful no, fun in some yes, is it a good third party console if you don't focus on the VCR one then yes One S and One X are good for them. I have played a fair few on it from time to time. Didn't play much of Psychonauts 2 it's a good game though just need to get back to it. We Happy Few is also good in its concept not sure enough about the gameplay as much.
I do that yes. XD But I like to think hmm this does this good, bad whatever. You made a good video still. Consoles have so much to them these days I can't say a simple good or bad and leave it at that. Sorry. Besides I like writing up and analysis so. I don't have much to say on some as not of interest to me but they are solid games to showcase. I was just about to edit it reminding that oh right ads the Xbox One is terrible for them. Even booting it up profile passwords, and ads for the Dev direct and this and that. PS4 only in the profile settings or a ad app that's it. It's hilarious the Xbox One/Series consoles with garbage in your face and the worst OS PC or console or any device ever used to navigate let alone changing every few years.
Personally I'm a mostly Xbox Series X user for new stuff, but have a PS5 as well. I use the PS5 for the single player games from Sony and Xbox for everything else. For instance, Indiana Jones is an Xbox exclusive that looks awesome, same with Hellblade 2 and Avowed. I think Xbox is really stepping up. But I appreciate pretty much every console these days. Looking forward to Switch 2 announcement someday. @@suntannedduck2388

You can pick up a launch Xbox One right now for under $100 in most places, and it has a ton of great games you can play. If you've never been part of the Xbox ecosystem, there's also Game Pass with a huge built in library of games, and the first party Xbox One games never leave that library.
Agreed 100%
I own a Series X and Series S, both awesome. But I did give my One X to my son and he loves it. I think the fact that games like Fortnite, Apex, Roblox and Minecraft are all still on Xbox One and updated, it makes it still viable.
Main reason for me to own an Xbox one is the internet explorer. Anime streaming and UA-cam in ultra high definition.

Series X is definitely great! If you can swing $500 it's hands down probably the best console ever made.

You can get a Series S for 150€ on a good day. Don't go for the xbox one unless your budget is very tight.
Well Series S has 500gig HDD and can't play discs. So Xbox One could be a better choice for many, and any USB 3.0 HDD will allow games to be played right off of them. Also, disc games are super cheap right now.
Is it really worth buying a Xbox One in 2024 if you have an Series S or X
Probably not.
Does it have more backwards compatible titles?
I don't think so.
It does have the ability to use Kinect and the TV Tuner etc though.

If you have a One S, base Xbox One, or are new to the Xbox ecosystem and have few or no physical games, get the Series S. These videos usually fail me somewhat so ill leave a small list of some of my favorite xbox one games.
Asphalt 9
Vampire Survivors
Army of Ruin
Borderlands 1-3
Brotato
Risk of Rain 2
Dying Light
Fortnite
Forza Horizon 4&5
Halo Master Chief Collection
High on Life
Lies of P (lite soul)
Metro Exodus
Mass Effect
A Plague Tale Requiem
Remnant
Robo Quest
Saints Row 2&3(2 best)

There's so many games, hard to please everyone. Hopefully I can do a hidden gem list for XB1 soon!
I miss xbox one era 😭😭😭😭
Technically, it's still going on...lol
i just got a original xbox one back in December 2024 less than $100
What a steal!
Tragically, these games - while backwards-compatible on current Xbox Series consoles - are not at a higher resolution/higher frame-rate. Imagine how more amazing would Sunset Overdrive play running at 4K60 or Ryse running at 4K.
Sometimes they have enhancements, but Sunset Overdrive and Ryse do not. They both run the standard 900p and 30fps.
@@thegamethrifter - Not sure what it would take to get them patched w/enhancements.
I doubt they take the time to do that honestly. @@Guernicaman
@@GuernicamanIt all depends on the game. Have you seen the enhancement patch you unlock by putting the 360 disc of Sonic Unleashed into a Series X? 🤯
@@autobotstarscream765 - I have not. I have the game on disc, but have yet to play Sonic Unleashed on current Xbox consoles. One would hope it looks & runs amazing.
I love Xbox but dont buy a Xbox One, better a Xbox Series X or S 💚
I think one of my points was lost a bit in all of this. Some people are on a budget or have kids that want to play Fortnite or Apex Legends, Minecraft and Roblox. An Xbox One is a solid option for those people. And it's cheap, and those games all still get updated .
@@thegamethrifter Is there a good all in one list for games that work on it or still get updated? This is my first time having an xbox so i’m a bit confused, sorry!
Here ya go!

Absolutely! @TheMahayanist
the Xbox one x still performs very well for me, but got mine un 2020 literally right before they stopped selling the one x and one s and one, it cloud games fine, runs smooth and even with newer games load times is still under a minute so other than them pushing graphics harder than they need to there is literally no reason why we're 4 years in this generation and it hasn't given me a real reason to upgrade...
Still got the one, it only needs an SSD and it'll run like a champ, with the price of this thing and its endless game library, it feels like a too good to be true kind of bargain.
Absolutely agree!
It's all just opinions! Thanks for watching! @TheMahayanist
I prefer story games such as Life is Strange, Control, Alan Wake remastered, Bioshock trilogie System Shock remastered, Max Payne, Tales from the Borderlands Batman trilogy Prey. Etc.
Can't go wrong there either
I have an xbox one elite and its👌
Nice! Those had SSD in them!
Hogwarts Legacy was a nice surprise to come by to the XBOX one
Absolutely! Great game and runs fine on Xbox One!
You don't need internet to play an Xbox One.
Just bought one with 7 games and a kinnect for $50
That's awesome!
If you pick up a One X Gears is 60fps, same with Halo, Titanfall ECT.
On the PS5 side, almost no games play better through BC @@leeokami22
Aside from the fact as stated you can pick up either an Xbox one or Ps4 and games for £100 .......
For instance, my son liked Fortnite, spending $550 on a new console so he can play Fortnite wasn't feasible.@@jf-zq2qz
This is the biggest comment I've ever seen! Really appreciate the rundown on some games and your thoughts!
I still play the one x
Nothing wrong with that!
I am thinking to sell 360 amd buy this
Depends on what you're looking for. Xbox One is still getting some new games in 2024.
Dude, you should call yourself the game drifter because i watched every video from your channels following the abk deal, and you were so quick to ditch xbox because of what people said, and that's just sadly pathetic
Think you're confused guy. I haven't talked about anything Activision related here. Mostly I cover retro gaming.
Yeah man titanfall 2 is such a sic game but it really sucks how dam short the campaign is tho
It should be at least twice as long as it is
And it's super cheap how they actually count the TUTORIAL as one of the missions lmfao
Yea, they really nailed it though. Shame we probably won't ever get a new one!
