Tbh I REALLY can't watch the Brian death scene (and episode), anymore because I JUST recently lost my dog of 9 years the exact same way while he was chasing after a cat last July! 😭
@@bobkolterjahn4266But that's the thing. That's all Maul was. Someone who couldn't move on from the past nor let go his hatred that led to his own undoing. Sam voiced him perfectly. Maul couldn't even move on to be a proper crime lord because he just wanted to ruin Kenobi. He couldn't move on with his own life and only jeopordizd everything just to try and rub dirt into Kenobi whenever he could.
Obi Wan defeating Maul in 10 seconds was hands down one of the best lightsaber duels ever made. It's so emotional, makes me cry EVERYTIME. Gotta love how Maul's arc was done. I think it is far from being underwhelming
The video's argument made no sense. It took both Obi-Wan and Qui Gonn the first time around because Obi-Wan was still an apprentice, and Maul was much younger and more agile. In their final duel, Obi-Wan is a seasoned veteran and Maul made the mistake of using the same move he used on Qui Gonn. Only Obi-Wan didn't fall for it.
@@46sn29 Exactly. We are talking about a foolish old sith vs an old experienced war veteran, in which both had fought before. It was literally the best and most raw duel possible, it's perfect
I suppose some may find some issue in Maul's arc having a gaps in it. Sidious captures him for some purpose, but before we ever learn what that purpose is, Order 66 unleashes chaos, allowing Maul to escape. He establishes himself as a kingpin, but by the time of Rebels, he is a listless nomad, who opportunistically tries to position himself as a mentor to Ezra - presumably so that he can feel some semblance of importance and power again. When Ezra refuses to submit, Maul abandons yet another role, reverting to his oldest obsession of trying to kill Kenobi. What Sidious had planned for him and why he abandoned the criminal underworld are never explained, though arguably some answers could be implied (e.g. would have been tortured into an Inquisitor; Hutts and Pykes having significantly more resources); yet the lack of dialogue confirming anything could lose a few people. His death, however, totally agree, it was a perfect end. Maul had caused so much suffering to Kenobi, and tried to kill him once more, only for Kenobi to calmly dispatch him, showing that Maul's obsession on revenge and pursuit for power had left him unwise and powerless, whereas Kenobi's acceptance of the horrors that befell him and focus on the future for everyone except himself had allowed him to defeat Maul even before blades were drawn.
They didn't bring Brian back due to fan backlash. The episode was already recorded and finished before his death aired. Seth already planned the sequences of him dying, the family replacing him, then him being brought back to life.
"How could Obi-Wan have easily killed Maul when he had to team up with Qui-Gon in Phantom Menace?" Obi-Wan is older and has more skill, he's a Jedi master. Has been in more fights than he'd care to think about... I mean... 🤷♀
Duuuuude! WM doesn’t understand Kenobi. The duel was over before Kenobi reached for his saber. Elegant and sympathetic way to end a rivalry such as those two had.
Plus, showed how Kenobi had become a truer Jedi - despite the hateful things Maul did, killing Qui-Gon in the duel, then murdering Satine to spite Kenobi, and the multiple attempts to kill him - Kenobi held no resentment, bringing Maul the peace he had never experienced, and comforting him with the knowledge that Luke will undo the evil of Palpatine, who was the true cause of all his suffering.
Winnie the Pooh’s death was the death that shocked me the most. Then becoming a zombie past demon. Even worse, becoming a wild, feral, vengeful, merciless woman-murderer as his vengeance on Christopher Robin for ditching him and his friends all those years ago.
To be fair, Yakko Wakko and Dot technically did not get killed off. According to the writers, they survived the asteroid blast. The show got killed because of the Hulu executives.
My thoughts: Hulu Animaniacs-hated it. Tiny Toons-one beer split 3 ways won't get kids drunk. The Simpsons-they could have easily replaced Maude's voice actress and say her character had some sort of throat surgery.
I mean, the opening song of the Animaniacs reboot features a scene with the gravestones of Yakko, Wakko, and Dot with (1930-1998) as the dates only for them to jump out of their graves and start again for the reboot. That was kind of a big hint all along about how the reboot would end, and doesn't even close the door for them to return again

While I would have preferred a cool lightsaber duel, I feel that their fight was the perfect bow to their story. Maul was filled with anger and hate, and blinded by revenge. Meanwhile, after losing Qui Gon, Obi Wan dedicated himself to mastering Soresu, and was able to perfectly predict and counter Maul

You are absolutely wrong about the Maul death scene. Sure it was short and we would have loved a huge fight, and I too was shocked by the brevity of the fight, but it makes sense. Casting aside the fact that Maul was also wondering the desert for days looking for Obi-wan, and the fact that Maul was pretty much going crazy about it, the voice actor for Maul, Sam Witwer, explains the scene perfectly. What Maul found in that desert was not an old frail man, nor the hot headed padawan from Episode 1, or the battled hardened and negotiator from the Clone wars. What he found was an active duty sentry protecting the galaxy's final hope. Obi-wan played into Maul's arrogance and removed him from the board as quickly as possible to make sure that Luke and the future of that galaxy was safe, and lived up the status of Jedi Master perfectly. Serious though, look up Sam talking about the scene, it is beautifully explained by him.
