I still love this show all these years later. I started watching "Adventures of Superman" reruns as a kid in the sixties. But when I heard this series was coming, I got excited for small screen Superman all over again. Teri and Dean have magical chemistry that sold all the drama, comedy, and action. I hope elements of this show make it into the new forthcoming SUPERMAN movie.
I met both Dean and Terri at NY Comic Con. They are two of the kindest and warmest people you can ever meet. Both are so approachable and Dean chats with his fans. Terri does as well, but I feel Dean does it longer.
both of them at the same time? Wow. I met Dean Cain years ago crossing the street, and you would think he was "Ok ask for your selfie so I can get outa here.." NOPE. he chatted for 10 minutes with a nobody like me and very humble.
This was my favorite show as a kid. I was allowed to stay up past my bedtime and watch it. It was the one show where I didn't feel alone, as I often labeled the weird or different kid. There's a quote from S1:E3 that perfectly sums up why I fell in love with Superman- "It's the idea of Superman. Someone to believe in, someone to build a few hopes around. Whatever he can do, that's enough." I loved that show as a kid, and still love it as an adult. It'll never get old. Met Dean Cain last year, he's just as amazing in person as he is on screen!
I agree the Christopher Reeve was the best Superman, but unfortunately, the plots of the later movies weren't as good as I would have liked. That Dean views Christopher Reeve as the best version of Superman does seem to show in Dean's own portrayal, and does seem to be lacking the the subsequent portrayals of Superman by other actors.

True. But then again, at the time, kids stopped watching this after they saw Superman: The Animated Series, which had more action than all the mushy drama that turned them off.
Make a Lois & Clark The New Adventures of Superman animated movie that pick up what was left off after season 4 with Dean and Terri reprising their voices just like Batman The Return of Cape Crusaders.
My Superman series as a kid was Superman: The Animated Series, but I have really grown to appreciate this one on revisit. It helps to know going into it not to expect it to just be all action but a fun character driven romcom that happens to be based around one of DC's most iconic superheroes. Dean Cain and Teri Hatcher both had real good chemistry as Clark and Lois as you watched their relationship develop over the course of the series, and I do think that was a large part of what made the series work. I also like how it showcases their work at the Daily Planet with their skills as reporters often making as much of a difference in stopping the villain-of-the-week as Superman himself. Also if it weren't for this series then readers of the comics would have never gotten Doomsday and the now iconic "Death and Return of Superman" storyline, so good on Minty for mentioning that.
Dude I literally started watching this show for the first time 2 weeks or so ago. This show is freaking awesome. Other than the special effects I would say it’s better than Smallville and Man of Steel.
I met dean Cain at a comic convention in London in 2017 thanks to being the face of cerebral palsy in the 90s. Dean is my superman as I was born in the early 90s and I have fond memories of watching him as a kid.
I really loved the show when it was broadcast and the interaction of the 2 main actors. Looked forward to every week in the romance of Lois and Clark. Liked the revamp of Season 2 with more exciting storylines. Good casting overall. And then came Smallville which again rewrote the story of the early years of teenage Clark and Lois later on.
I remember watching this show when it came out. I was a preteen and this show is when I fell in love with Teri Hatcher. There is just something about her eyes. She is why I don't mind watching desperate housewives with my wife lol

This is one of those shows that has aged quite well, even not being perfect. I wouldn't mind if they did season 5 as a comic book, the same way they're doing for Burton's Batman 89 timeline. It would be fun. Dean and Teri did a fantastic job as Clark and Lois... and I dare to say that John Shea's version of Lex Luthor is my favourite version of the character in live-action form, because you see that he's Lex, but in season 1 he's not entirely obsessed with Superman, like it happens in most media portrayals, and that's a good thing, because it allows us to see him slowly going down the rabbit's hole that is his obsession with Lois in this version. And I also loved Lane Smith's Perry White (best version of Perry in my opinion). Regarding the outfit keep changing, I always attributed the changes to Clark's mom, who continued to sew his outfits (I mean, there's even one episode, where most of his outfits get destroyed, with the exception of one, and he says that his mom's going to kill him, xD), so, like the show's team, she was experimenting. xD
Lois and Clark was a great show. I really enjoyed it back in the day. Dean Cain, Teri Hatcher and all the other cast were all great. I recently re-watched the series on Tubi.
I enjoyed the show from time to time when I was a kid, but in the early 2000's I was working a 3rd shift job, and Lois and Clark was airing reruns every morning when I got home - that's when I watched it the most!
I was 10 when this show debuted. I loved this version of Superman. All the cast was excellent and Dean Cain did a great job in showing the differences between Clark Kent and Superman. The only thing I didn't like was the ending in season 4. We should've gotten a proper and final season 5.
Another awesome, enlightening and insightful retrospective!👍 Maybe you can cover Smallville, Buffy and Charmed too. Keep up the exceptional work!🔥 2:37
As a Superman super fan, this IS my favorite iteration of the show. I liked that the first season had a more film noir/40's detective vibe that was centered on Lois and Clark being investigative journalists. The Jazz themes were cool. But, I agree, the last season just turned into Lois and Clark making out a lot. That being said, I do have a signed photo of Dean Kane on my wall. I love Dean!
Lois and Clark is still my favorite series of the character. This is still #1 on my list followed by Superman and Lois as #2, Smallville as #3 in live action types. I will always love the series as it was one of the shows in the 90s that I watched every week and never missed on television.
This was my favorite Superman show. I thoroughly enjoyed the fact that Superman was a main character and a side character at the same time. The cast really sold me on the show. Dean Cain and Terri Hatcher defined Lois Lane and Clark Kent. Justin Whalen and Lane Smith are the best versions of Perry White and Jimmy Olsen outside of the animated series and comics
As a Kid growing up while I had the Superman Films (they were ok)...Lois &Clark The New Adventures of Superman really got me into Superman and then of course Smallville began airing while I was in high school. I was just watching Lois & Clark earlier this week...a few favorite episodes and thinking about the tv series today while I was out Canvassing and then your Video upload Today Minty...Thanks for this video and to be fair all of your videos Minty...always a Fan of You and your knowledge of TV Shows and Movies...always love to reminisce of the 80's and 90's pop culture these days especially.

When discussing American TV shows it is very important to understand that here we refer to them as seasons, not series. That’s why we have season finale. Here in the states the series finale is the final episode of a TV show.

Lois and Clark was a great show.
I really enjoyed it back in the day.
Dean Cain, Teri Hatcher and all the other cast were all great.
I recently re-watched the series on Tubi.
Please do a video on Smallville. Thank you! 👍😃
I enjoyed the show from time to time when I was a kid, but in the early 2000's I was working a 3rd shift job, and Lois and Clark was airing reruns every morning when I got home - that's when I watched it the most!
I rediscovered hat the show had two Jimmy Olsens, totally forgot about it, I only remembered Justin Whalin.
I was 10 when this show debuted. I loved this version of Superman. All the cast was excellent and Dean Cain did a great job in showing the differences between Clark Kent and Superman. The only thing I didn't like was the ending in season 4. We should've gotten a proper and final season 5.
Dean Cain is so wonderful playing this role - I wished the series made 5 years as I ENJOYED THIS SHOW EVERY WEEK IN THE 90S -Thank God for dvd's
I loved this show. I feel the casting and character portrayal for all of the main characters were perfect.
I absolutely loved this show when I was younger
It was one of my favorite shows from my young naive youth.
Theme song is actually my alarm clock tune. Makes me feel ready and optimistic every morning
oh I loved that show as a child, nothing but good memories of it .
Another awesome, enlightening and insightful retrospective!👍 Maybe you can cover Smallville, Buffy and Charmed too.
Keep up the exceptional work!🔥 2:37
What a fantastic video ! Thank you! I was a big fan of the show
As a Superman super fan, this IS my favorite iteration of the show.
I loved this show because Clark was cool.
I loved everything about the series number one it bringing out the originals plus stars that we no longer have at this time
I used to get so excited as a kid when this show was on the TV… always has a special place in my heart
I started rewatching this on tubi. They have every episode. I used to watch them all new way back when.
I used to love this show! It was really cool for the time
This was my favorite Superman show.
That was one of my favorite Superman TV Shows!!! And I still watch it on DVD!!!
Thank you Minty, Loved this show.
The first Superman I've ever seen on screen. Thank you so much for this video, Minty 🎉
Minty I was pleasantly surprised that you decided to cover this one
Not my favorite Superman
But still a genuine charmer
Sad this show has been forgotten it was fun decent FX Dean Cain And Lovely Teri Hatcher ❤
Definitely one of the best versions of these Characters. Both of the leads were fantastic and fun. The support actors great, overall well done and fun TV show.
I loved this show growing up. I have the whole series on DVD.
Excellent video, I loved the show!
I enjoy your commentary and look forward to your videos. Thank you. A suggestion for your MINTY COMEDIC ARTS sign behind you. I don't know if you can program it but perhaps have MINTY as the first line and then COMEDIC ARTS be the second line. I think that it would make the sign less distracting and make a more bold statement. Cheers and enjoy the rest of your day.
8:38 Absolutely agree that the interpersonal conflict made their interaction a Lois and "Kal-El" better!
Dean Cain always paid complimentary respect to Christopher Reeve long before Reeve's accident in 1995. If that isn't humble , I dont what is. 😊😊😊😊
My favorite superman! Thank u minty!
Best Perry White. Also my favourite Clark.
When discussing American TV shows it is very important to understand that here we refer to them as seasons, not series. That’s why we have season finale. Here in the states the series finale is the final episode of a TV show.
Fantastic! Some of my fondest childhood memories are of watching this show and "Power Rangers", so they both hold a special place in my heart. Yes, I was one of the youngsters who had a huge crush on Tracy Scoggins! (and Amy Jo-Johnson)
Also there is the intentional pun on Lewis and Clark. Australians probably have never heard of them.
Never thought about that before as an American, good catch! I bet lots of others missed it too.
They did that joke in a season 1 episode of Robot Chicken
We do, in fact, learn history down here....
Terrific Minty! This was a really exciting time to be a Superman fan. I think Dean Cain & Teri Hatcher might just be the best, most underrated Lois & Clark/Superman in history
I grew up with Superman III. The first 3 Superman movies with Christopher Reeve are my favorite. Thanks for this review, Minty. I never really got into the other Superman worlds, so this was really interesting to me. 💕
Also, please leave your sign as it is!! It’s perfect!
I met Dean Cain and got my Season 1 dvd signed. Dude is super cool. Cindy Morgan was next to him and I got a signed Tron Frisbee. It was a cool Comicon
Rest in peace, Cindy. Tragic way to die.
@@techsaverscomputerrepairca2127 I thought it was natural causes
@@PixelsNcreatureS it was, but she died alone and wasn`t found for days. Sounds like it wasn`t quick, either. Rumor was COVID, although being Florida of course that wasn`t listed as the official cause. Either way, she died alone and didn't summon help for some reason.
@@techsaverscomputerrepairca2127 that's upsetting :(
