This is great! Im struggling between which one of these to add to the studio, Ive wanted an FM machine for awhile. I do more Futurepop stuff but this def gives me a ballpart, I dig it!
I wouldn’t wanna have to choose. I also have a DX200, Model Cycles, and a Volca FM, and these two are there own beasts. Get them both lol
Yeah the Digitone has the fact that it has an excellent MIDI sequencer, only 4 tracks but that's enough to sculpt out 3 sections for the opsix and then your last track with some kind of monosynth. If you have a sampler already (DT or Blackbox etc) then the sky is the limit. The main drawback with the opsix though is that the sequencer is very limited. You DO get 16 steps but in my experience it's better to sequence it from the DN. I use the 16 steps to sketch out a single idea with a patch (So when I come back to it months later I can have an idea as to WHY I made the patch.)
I have both too, and it’s definitely advantages to having both. They honestly feel much different from one another. I also own that Virus Ti lerking behind there as well. Probably one of my favorite synths of all time.

Just gotta say I love the old school Skinny Puppy “Meek-Tweek Baby” shirt. I have lots of SP shirts and that’s still my favorite design; Miquel who designed it joined us on the Skinny Puppy message board “Litany” for a time and was one of the coolest folks I’ve encountered.
Great video of course…I have both synths and this has given me some creative ideas how to utilize both in a jam.

Funny how almost have the exact same setup as you. Opsix,virus ti, td3 and a sh101 as my main synths. totally different music though 😅

Would love an in depth tutorial of playing live with opsix and digitone. You sold me on the opsix and I had a digitone keys. So I am now dying to use them together. The independent 4 track Stereo outs seem like they could be useful here. Also use a virus ti2 into a iridium. Would love to take all of that together and make it sound amazing. But let's start with how best to use the opsix and digitone together. That would be stellar.

i still prefer yamaha when i want fm .. the dx200 with it's effects & sequencer is really a weapon..do you like the Virus synth ?...
yes AN200 and DX200 are very nice but for the price it's better to buy RS7000.YO

you have make a mistake, DIGITONE is a FM synthetizer, not a rhythmic sequencer of 16 step. good jam
