Thanks Jared for showing your examples! Just purchased a Geurilla thumb pochade box and I love it! I’m looking at building a simple sketch easel for larger pieces. I purchased an extension for the pochade. We will see how I like it.
I love these! I bought a guerilla painter 5x7 pocket box for now until I can make my own design. I love the gurney easel but I need a few more additions because I'm very clumsy with my art supplies. Thank you for your video!
This video inspired me to make use of my old camera tripod and use it as an easel. I've bought some 1/8" board and some 1/4" 20 T-nuts. For anyone planning to make their own, I suggest bringing your tripod quick release plate to the store to make sure you get the right size T-nut, don't trust the store because that was my mistake, the first store I bought T-nuts from had put the wrong size in the bin.

Im still looking for what i want....to buy or even to build.... I like post card soze sketchbooks or blocks for like a "EDC" watercolor kit. Something what i can sketch and paint even if i only have 10min break. So i want a lap bos that wil hold a small pallet, a postcard size block, a couple paint brushes and a smakk place or container for water..... that i can open and set everything up on in case i need to move or have to stop till later.

It is! It's 1/4in thick plywood. You can get it at home repair or craft stores. It's cut to the size of my sketchbook and hinged together. Afterward, I protect it, I sprayed it with gray paint and clear coat so it wouldn't warp.
Hey i'm french and i just wanted to tell you that "pochade" does not mean pocket is the word for "painted quick sketches" that painter use to make on the place where the scene they were painting was, they were doing some pochades to get color harmonies and to get a quick reference to maybe later make a big painting at home with this pochades for reference.

You are obviously doing things right because many people, including myself, utilize your channel for to learn/info etc. I definitely have respect for people that have a passion and make it a big part of their life. I think we can let that one slip lol. I honestly wasn't 100% sure of the correct pronunciation. I too am from the land of Dixie and the French language wasn't exactly rolling off people's tongues in my town. I started listening to French music from the 1920s/30s a couple years back and in my spare time I sometimes try to learn a little of the language so that the songs make more since lol. I wasn't trying to be 'that guy' because it's one thing to be a Grammer nazi on the internet, but to take it further and call out someone's pronunciation of a foreign language is a getting close to pretention so thanks for understanding 👍. I'm kurieX absolutely. They’re the crux of the whole design. Without it you have to make a system of hold it open- which is doable but requires some other thing attached like cork or dowel to sit on or some kind of chain or holding bar to keep it open. These hinges work super well. They open to a spot and hold and you can make them more tight or loose as needed. They’re expensive- the most expensive part of the thing but worth it.
ANNANNA if you don’t want to make one there are lots of great ones from cheap to super expensive. Open box m was the golden standard but now strada and u.go from New wave have been getting more popular. The guerilla boxes are affordable and very sturdy. :)
I don’t have a great answer for that… if you leave it out it will fade a bit but I don’t have a great way to remove the smell completely. I’ve just kind of ignored it.

ChenBoluo if you want to learn painting start with drawing. I recommend getting a nice secret sketchbook that you are not afraid to fail in. Get a fountain pen and draw everything you see constantly. It trains you to see contour lines and to not be attached to individual drawings. Good luck!

you should hammer the t-nut from the backside or it will fall out with small forces
