Han Bennink accents Wes so nicely in this performance!👌🏼
Entire group kills it tbh
Nice profile pic
What happens from 5:33 is so funny and beautiful I guess that's why is said that playing great music together it's like having a conversation
Excellent, superb. His playing just flows from his head without any effort. A musical genius!
Thats what I always say... forget the thumb, octaves... just enjoy the lyrical flow.. his musicality.. he could play any instrument, and still be the same - the great musician. Just listen to his comping.. an art in itself, so much feel..
god of jazz guitar
I don't think that I will EVER get used to seeing Wes Montgomery's thumb picking and octave technique! Thank you for the video!
Great piece of music when you are in this condition... and brought in an excellent and positive way... Superbe!
Always come back to this take. I love the tempo of this. Thanks for posting this. Blessings
Interesting. I much prefer the initial rehearsed slow tempo! How lucky we are to have this session on video 🥰
Ogni volta che ascolto e guardo Wes Montgomery, capisco il perché sia stato il modello di tutti i chitarristi jazz di oggi. Un Genio assoluto!
So Beautiful
Thanks for this beautiful music
Wes always gives u good feelings
Great ride tone with unique swing sense. Nice drum
What a beautiful man Wes is, in addition to being a monster!
Dexter Gordon's solo on his album is at the top of the list for me. But since I play guitar with my thumb, this gives me hope.
Excelente video.
wow love it!!
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Ооооооу ⚡⚡⚡🌀Этооо Неееечтоо! 🎆🎆🎆
Very nice recording! Han Bennink has been at the forefront of free jazz but this shows he can swing with the best of 'em (also, RIP Pim Jacobs, already in 1996)
There is a great video of Wes playing live in 1965 in Belgium. Try to watch that on youtube, there are great exemples of his playing
John Cleese sure can play piano
Is that not miles davis' four?
:)
Swing Brothers Swing 😊
That is the most valuable thumb in the world! 👍
You just featured my favorite guitar player Wes Montgomery I love it we have music on Fridays and we tried to Sundays we have to be more consistent listen to our podcast the seed group podcast let us know if you have some suggestions thank you
Just imagine the pianist and rythm section learned the song 5 min before. This is outstanding
One thing is beyond me... not the thumb.. but his playing single note runs and basic harmony only with 3 fingers - he used pinky only on octaves, and (full) chords in solos.. and even then, how could he ever place those sausages he had for fingers in the right spot ?? Gosh..
Astro performance
I needed this now!
You notice he's not tapping his foot, but his whole body is swinging..He⁴s FANTASTIC!
Wonderfull what a loss.
Love it
