Solid review! Answered all of my questions. I’ve been demoing for the last couple of months (extreme tour, aero vs, and e zone 98/100) all leaded up and I was waiting to hear how this one stacked up because I’ve really enjoyed them all so far. I’m open level so I really am picky about the stick I use so I appreciate the in depth review. I also have seen you guys on the TW blog so been anticipating this video for a while! I’m thinking it’s down to this and the E Zone since I’ll probably wait for the Aero 98 next year to be released. I have a feeling the VS will be hard to get a hold of soon since it’s been out for so long. Keep up the good work guys 💪🏼
love your videos :) I would love to see some sort of series where you give your top racquets for differents game styles ( eg : best racquets for doubles, for grinders, net rushers, aggressive all courtes etc ) Thanks for your content
"United Board for Completely Subjective and Made Up Graphs" cracked me up :-) But it's still good to see it in a relative ranking vis-a-vis other frames so thanks for that. Improved editing quality and insightful review... Keep up the good work!
Need a comparison between a weighted up 360+ extreme tour vs Auxetic extreme tour. Sounds like auxetic is the better of the two in stock form but what about weighted up?
Have you hit the Dunlop SX300 Tour? I found it to be a surprisingly great spin frame but a little stiff for my arm. I wish it was a bit more flexible. I'm now considering the Head Extreme Tour with it's slightly lower weight and RA I think it might be just what I'm looking for. Thanks for another great review!
I've tried it a few times, both stock and customized. Customized it was out of my spec range, but stock it felt very slow through the air. I only played with it for a few minutes because I really didn't like it. I much prefer the FX500 Tour and CX200.
Hey Beckett! Huge fan of the channel. Quick question, I’ve been playing with a 2022 Extreme MP for a few months but I’m finding it too powerful lately. I’m already using a full poly bed. So I want to try switching to a either and Extreme Tour or a Boom Pro. I can’t find any direct comparison videos between the two frames and I saw both of your reviews about the racquets. Wondering what you think about those 2 compared to each other. Thanks!!
The Boom Pro is a much more substantial feeling racquet. It competes more closely with the Pure Strike due to the higher swingweight, superior stability and big power. Still more control compared to your Extreme MP though. The Tour is a lot lower powered and has a lot less stability since maneuverability was clearly prioritized for spin production. Its been a very long time since I hit the Boom, but its a racquet I'd like to revisit since I think I could have gotten a better experience out of the frame with better string choice.
Awesome!!! Thanks for the quick reply!! I think I’ll give the Boom Pro a try since it’s also currently on sale almost everywhere. Probably a new model is about to launch. Happy New Year!!
hi, how would you compare the head extreme tour with the yonex ezone 98 2022? what is the main difference between them? and which one would you recommend for an advanced player on clay?
Most of my thoughts from this video still stand as the Auxetic update to the Extreme Tour was pretty incremental. ua-cam.com/video/YMRgbUzrOQQ/v-deo.html&ab_channel=TennCom Only new the Auxetic feels slightly more muted than before (still way more responsive than the Yonex) and the power levels are a little bit closer. They are very similar racquets and I think if you are happy with one, you would be happy with both, so you really need to demo them yourself to feel a big difference.
Are you sure the strung weight is 313g? cause if it's right then there is something really really wrong with the quality control. I would think it's about 323 right?
The 2 360+ extreme tours i bought last month were 322g and 323g strung, so does seem this is more a review of an underspec tour, rather than a stock tour
So Beckett... Are you switching to the Auxetic Extreme Tour? I think I'll get one if Head decide to do a Nite edition as this was the racquet which had crazy drop shots causing me to run and dive into dropshots like you faced. Also, are you able to comment on the serves and serve returns?
Serves were really awesome. The slingshot thing I was talking about was absolutely deadly, especially for flat serves. Returns sucked. The flex makes blocking shots back pretty unpredictable.
I definitely prefer the MP over the Tour so far, but I'll continue hitting with both and see how my opinions evolve. The MP is so much more consistent on contact. With that being said, the Tour might be whippier. (Is that a word?)
Hello Beckett question I am between the Extreme MP and Extreme Tour, but was wondering if its best to buy the MP and customize it and add weight OR just go with the heavier Tour. hope you can help
I'm really curious if you're going to switch Beckett. I bought the 360+ET after your review and am still very happy about it. However, I play it in stock condition. Additional weights I have tried but always put back again. Sometimes the vibrations bother me, especially when the string becomes softer. Therefore, the new Auxetic ET may be an even better choice for me.
Some weight in the handle really helped me with the vibrations. I believe I have come to a decision on the potential switch, but the video will hopefully come out by the end of next weeek.
Question: I'm a blade 98 16/19 v8 user and am looking for a bit more pop on my groundstrokes...is the inconsistency in off-center shots/sweetspot comparable to the blade? Or is the Blade more forgiving? Trying to gauge the criticism against my current experience. Thanks.
I remember the Blade being more consistent throughout the string bed. I think the gives more power on-centre, but the forgiveness off-centre is pretty similar.
@@TennCom the overall ratings you provide, comparing attributes against a range of racquets really helps when looking around. I love the feel and maneuverability of my Blade v8s but the lack of power has been hurting my game lately. The ball is fast off the strings and over the net, but it's not a ball that explodes off the bounce. Hit with the Ezone 98 today and that was a big difference, the weight. of shot. It's why I'm waiting on the ET and may take a look at the TFight 300 RS...
I have to get my ET 360+ up to nearly 340g before I am happy with it stability and power-wise (at 32.6 cm balance). What would you suggest as a lighter alternative?
@@TennCom How about the T-Fight ISO as an option (along with the Radical MP)? Seems like about the specs I end up with on my ET 360+ with less static weight.
Yeah, one thing that is confusing is that Jon is not the guy talking in the video. I pulled a hammy so I couldn't filming a session with Simon, who is the guy talking.
I spent a few days with the new ET. The video pretty much mirrored my experience. Better feel etc…. However, I love my customized 360+ ET’s and I don’t think the upgrade is significant enough to buy the new version and get rid of my current ones. Head did a nice job on the new frame though.
I think the new version is very well aimed at players who tried the ET, but could quite make the switch. I think now it's really encroaching on EZONE 98's territory with the added comfort and ball pocketing.
@@TennCom Good point. I played Yonex for a long time and the new ET is not quite there, but closer than the 360+. They are onto something with the Auxetic and when my ET’s are at their end, the new ET will be at the top of the list. Really like your content btw. Good stuff.
Great review. Looking forward to getting the new extreme tour. Would you use tour sniper or M8? I suppose both strings would be good for this racket depending on what the person likes and wants.
I'm not sure to be honest. I think I'd like something firmer and more round in this one. There's a big difference between on-centre and off-centre shots in terms of softness, and I'd like to try to find a string that evened out the stringbed as much as possible were I to switch,
M8 is firm but not round. Yonex poly tour fire or Technifibre razor code are good round strings. Also firestorm but that one is powerful and not so firm.
@@TennCom is the release date still beginning of sept? Someone n tennis warehouse told me it’s going to be mid or end of sept. Not sure if he is right.
I guess that the string bed performance Pure strike tour vs regular Pure strike 16 x 19 is the same, as tour is "just" some more weight in the handle. its a bit sad you guys havent really talked much about/noticed the Babolat Pure Strikes. But agian thank you for not (overall all youtube-ing tennis techies) as this make the pure strike really cheap in the e-shops and for me to get them to an awesome price.
New one looks way better in person especially the green at the throat. The volt yellow is also slightly pale and looks great. These colours feel like they were selected by an artist to be seen under natural light. I kinda wish the colours were reversed, but I defs prefer to the 360+
Auxetic is for real. If Head could address their quality control issues, all the Auxetic rackets would conquer the market. The Speed Pro and Prestige Pro feel great too with this technology. Hard to pull the trigger on Head with the manufacturing inconsistencies which have been well documented.
i really have to respect how far Head has come in the past 5 years. I used to loathe their racquets until the released the Gravity and have been impressed ever since
I used the previous ET and modified it similarly to yours. While I enjoyed it, it wasn’t for me. I kept mishitting and my control was decreased. However, I recently bought ‘22 Speed Pro and it has instantly transformed my game in stock condition. I can’t explain it. All parts of my game has increased by at least 25%. I’ve never played with such a well rounded frame in a VERY long time. So to answer the title - I don’t know if the new ET is worth the upgrade… But I DO know that the Speed Pro is the holy grail of all HEAD racquets out right now! 🫠
