Camilo almost took a set against Alcaraz in clay this year on Buenos Aires, and lost a very close match against Rublev in clay too. You are getting there! Keep going!
That dude is a baller on clay. Seems super fit. Great match by you too Karue. These higher rank players just force you to play at such a high level(like that second set) for the entire match. You're no doubt getting there.
Honestly you're one of the cleanest and best ball strikers I've ever seen (and believe me, being alive probably more than most people watching here...I've seen many great hitters). Sucks to lose, but you did great regardless. This is called experience and learning. Cheers and thanks for sharing! M
I had the same thoughts. He (Karue) strikes the ball very well from both sides. Power, depth, location. Very solid all around, moves well too! Really just boils down to making a few errors here and there, going for it a bit too early in the rallies. His opponents know early on they are in for a battle.
I'm so jealous of how you move around the court. It looks so fun to be that light on your feet. Great video as always! You were playing some really great tennis and looked in control for most of this match tbh
Karue, your backhand is like bread and butter! Super solid and I really admire the way you can manufacture pace at will on the backhand. If I put myself in the mind of your opponent I would feel like it will never break down. That alone would start getting in my head, ha ha.
Love these matches that you sit and analyze. Gives real insight into what's going on. It is impressive how good you are at implementing your tactics in a match. You rarely look lost or overwhelmed regardless of the opponent. Good stuff.
Karuesing up the rankings. Your analysis was spot on. SO many points where you had opportunities to take control and you did not go for an aggressive shot. Once he had an easier ball to hit, you ALMOST NEVER won those points, so you MUST maintain control with your movement and aggressiveness in these points to win against top 100 players. Since you lose nothing by going for a point-controlling shot- because against these top 100 players you aren't going to win these points with the passive shot anyway- you therefore are losing nothing by going for it. Of course, it is easy to say it, harder to "feel" it in the middle of a big point. I'm not just going to say that you had a real chance to win here, I'm going to say you SHOULD have won this match! No one knows the mental game as well as you. You knew he would play the final set wide open. After he lost the second set he had nothing to lose and he played like it, but you knew that was coming. Your skills are great for clay. On your best day you would have won this match, but as you said it's the end of the season and even in the shape you are in, you weren't totally 100%. You still played a quality match, but I want your focus on WE ARE WORKING ON THE NEXT LEVEL 100% OF THE TIME! Even in the middle of the match I want you thinking about every shot and ONLY that. There is no pressure because there is no score. Today's match results simply do not matter. EVERY point we are just out there working on those next-level shots, because ONLY those will take us to the top. We are simply NEVER content with our weapons. We are IMPROVING them. The way to win matches is to hit your best shot every time, and the ONLY way to do that is to TRULY not give a crap about today's results. That is the irony and the beauty of tennis. I can assure you that your game is closer to the top than you realize.
I've been watching you for quite a while now and I have been following your return to pro tennis, I've been loving it. Me and my wife like to watch tennis highlights and whatnot together and recently on the suggested videos one of your matches showed up! I was pretty excited to see that and I had to tell my wife "hey, I watch that guy's channel!" Haha, keep up the good work!
Hi Karue. I just wanted to compliment you and congratulate you on your comeback and all the success you have had on the ATP tour this year. I have been keeping up with your scores by getting Google notifications and you are really popping off. Truly the feat of a lifetime. I know you have the talent to make it into the top 50. Keep grinding legs brother, stay happy, stay healthy, and may God's glory shine through you
One thing I noticed is you were hitting your spots with pace. Deep in the corners or great angles cross court in the service boxes. Nice work and thanks for another great video.
This match doesn't convince me that Carabelli is any better. You played great here, Karue. Love your calm, cool, and collected playing AND commentary. Only 128k subscribers and more than half have already watched this match? There's a reason you're popular. Keep it up!
Great, video. Love your mentally with a balance about being calm but aggressive. I struggle to maintain my calmness when things get too physical or Im being pushed around and adrenaline starts going. Thats definitely a part I could improve on
Karie, you need to feel great about that performance. You were on the offensive more than him, you pressed him well. Best chance to win was snagging the first set break opportunity. You had him n the ropes the entire first 2 sets! Fabulous play, and keep it up!
That was a helluva match! Your game is so dynamic now, many weapons of choice 🚀 That first set, you had a bit of anxiety, two "easy" net pts that cost it. But damn, the second set was such a breeze, you set the pace and it was superb. Foi insano irmão, parabéns!
Love the net attack aggression 🕺. Really keeps them paranoid and on their toes. I’ve never seen so many Terrible drop shots from an elite player - how many easy points did you get 😂
GAHH SO CLOSE! Love mixing it up with the serve and volley and nice touch on the drop shots. I think going for broke on some of those break points would have been the difference. Believe in you Karue!!
Well played! I think your commentary on balancing was spot on! That first set could have been yours! Played better more chances etc.. but at some shots you pulled the trigger a bit too early.. and thats such a fine line between playing offensive tennis, but still with patience and control... That second set once you got that break, that first point on 3-1 on your serve was so good! You stayed in the rally was patience, didn't go for too much, won the point and in my opinion send the clear message! Like i can go long points too.. can't break me down.. After that i could tell it affected him mentally and physically and you took that set comfortably, playing good solid tennis! Your up there man! Like you said tennis is like that sometimes, you tire a bit, miss some shots the other guy hangs tough and before you know it, its over.. Again very well played! You got the highlight reel on lockdown!
I didn’t know you were a content creator! I first heard of you when I was getting on tennis and you won me a lot of money so thank you 😂🙏🏾 new subscriber!
Karue, I am really thrilled at how well you are keeping up with these top players. The work you are doing is surely paying off! I am impressed with how well you are preparing for each stroke. I notice as I watch that you feel really comfortable throughout the point(s) against Ugo. So, continuing to do good practice to prepare for THE next shot will be a strength which will pay bigger and bigger dividends and at the same time, allow you to stay comfortable and confident during your shot-making. So glad you are sharing your journey with all of us!!! Thanks and best wishes for an Australian run.
Don't stop until you are at the top. We all want to see you there Karue. It would be an amazing journey to see you successful as someone doing online instruction then taking people to task in the top 50. Keep going man were behind you. The only thing that limits you is your mind.
really impressive improvement. there are several times you are over recovering after you push him back and it would make you more aggressive with no added risk
Dude, great content & match, been fun following your journey! Been around all the way from 'driving servers crazy' - video, thought that 'this is a confident guy', didn't have any idea of your level of play :). Q On fitness: You seem to sometimes run out of steam in 3rd sets, are you fuelling enough for long matches? Following lot's of endurance stuff(ultras) and they all seem to be moving to high carb fuelling,.. (though probably you have this figured out). Good luck and looking fward seeing you against top 50 soon!
Hi Karue, been watching you for a couple of years now. Your game has definitely changed and improved lots … but at this level, guess you need more varieties like drop shots, side spins, lobs etc to get these guys off guard. Your serve and volley is awesome. Take more advantage of it. After all, you are already 30, so to be completing at this level with younger guys is something you should be really proud of. Keep going despite no fun living off hotels and suitcases. Good job! DL From Singapore…
Like you said he was tired too but those couple errors in the beginning pf the third set (where you clearly couldnt make the effort) made the difference. Brutal! 😅
In the 1st set - the break at 3-4 , usually happens when you are playing against a higher ranked player and when a small doubt creeps in, the backhand you missed down the line(your favourite shot) usually you make it, and the easy serve and volley at 15-30. Then at 3-5 , you had 2 break points, at 15-40 he hot slices right in the middle of court, especially on the 1st slice I thought you will come in and volley and get the break, stayed back, was passive, had to take your chances. The guy doesn't like moving front and back, his side to side is damn good. And also he feels the pressure when you come into the net at the right time he randomly missed the shots into the net or got out whenever you came in. And he doesn't like receiving lots of slices. My analysis for 1st set.
Quel dommage Karue... la bonne nouvelle c'est que tu prends conscience petit à petit que tu es tout proche du top 100 mondial. Merci pour cette vidéo! Abraço
In Argentina players are so strong in clay. That's practically all we play. So it's tough when you come from USA's hard courts. The same can be said the other way around. We tend to suck at hard courts. Great match tho Karue! Carabelli is not too far from players like Navone, Diaz Acosta, Comesaña and such! Keep it up, your level is getting there.
Great Match Man. Jogou demais e ja fez um grande segundo set agora ja esta pegando o ritmo. Vamos Karue!!!!!!!! Want to watch u in a grand slam man!!!!!!
Hey Karue I’m a big fan and got your strings as well. I’m nowhere near your level but do you think looking back some drop shots could have helped in this match? There were a lot of instances that he was so far from the baseline and you were inside that I think a few drop shots here and there could have made a difference. Just a thought. You are an inspiration bro just keep going and hopefully we will see you in a slam soon.

High level the past tournaments, unfortunately things did not go your way when you were absolutely up to par with your level, both here and in Knoxville. Possibly also a stamina issue? Keep working, fun to watch.
Hi saw Camilo in Poznan, and I can tell you that he was just passing the ball most of the time, lots of slices, lots of topspin, Karue game is much better but probably more difficult to keep on the same high level during the whole match.
Your forehand has gotten so much better I think your style is kind of like Agassi where you can win against most guys by just outrallying them, most guys cannot rally much because they train for power and it wears them down mentally I like how you change pace too, that really is an underused tool in tennis But I think your style would wear players down just by keeping the ball in play, and adding some change of pace is great within that Keep it up!
Karue, racket question here! I'm playing with the Pure Aero98. But feel it lacking in the feel-department, and something about the overall sensation is just not completely right. It isn't that responsive at times. Is the Percept100D a realistic racket for to change to, without having to add weight(other than an overgrip) to the frame? Love the videos and the journey! Keep going strong
Karue’s current Universal Tennis Rating is 14.41, Ugo is at 14.65. They are evenly matched, perhaps more serve and volley might have helped. I realize that tactic can be tricky on clay. I hope Karue keeps watching his videos. That way while he is actually playing he will see himself as a spectator would watching from the stands. That may sound crazy, however Roger Federer said while he is playing he sees himself hitting amazing shots from a spectator’s point of view.
what a great game - you looked the better player for sure in first two... i am no expert and have learnt a lot from u but i dint see drop shots when you pushed him so much back on backhand side ...small observation 🙏🙏
I would say your clarity in the 2nd set gave u a huge efficiency advantage. YOur mind and body were relaxed and in sync so you hit bigger with same amount effort and you movement efficiency was off the charts. Longer more releaxed strides and muscles, earlier ball recognition, better balance = much more efficient energy usage. Combined with easy power playing with clarity will keep your stamina in the safe zone and leave a good reserve for when you really have to force things. Seems like you were outputing 70% the effort vs. when you were trying to outhit him and playing stacatto style - forcing the issue, breaking the rhythm of the rally.
OK maybe in reality you were using 10% less than him but that is a huge difference in a match especially if u have to play best of 5. Maybe a new secret weapon here - play 80% of the sets with clarity and have enought in tank to go overdrive if needed while your opponnent runs themselves into ground. Is this the secret to energy mgt the top guys have figured out?
What do you think of the Djokovic diet? He doesnt eat wheat(specifically gluten), dairy, red meat. He is super slim. I think something similar could help you with endurance.
Camilo almost took a set against Alcaraz in clay this year on Buenos Aires, and lost a very close match against Rublev in clay too. You are getting there! Keep going!
Best match I have seen from you, very consistent, patient and accurate. Keep fighting!

It' all a process, you're playing well, he upped his game in the third set and you got a little tired. Fun to watch !
You did a great job running him around in the 2nd set. He was getting tired and making errors. Just needed to do more of the same in the 3rd maybe

That may sound crazy, however Roger Federer said while he is playing he sees himself hitting amazing shots from a spectator’s point of view.
You played well, really well…in the end is a strategic and fitness thing to handle these guys…
As a former ITF 407 in double I know it…😂😂😂
what a great game - you looked the better player for sure in first two... i am no expert and have learnt a lot from u but i dint see drop shots when you pushed him so much back on backhand side ...small observation 🙏🙏
Court and ball were very high bouncy, it wasn’t easy to be effective with drop shots
You should come to Lima Challenger too!
You are playing good bro
It is crazy how it is mostly about mentality and calmness. One decision here, another there. A bit forced here, a bit too early there. Crazy.
it really is
What do you think of the Djokovic diet? He doesnt eat wheat(specifically gluten), dairy, red meat. He is super slim. I think something similar could help you with endurance.
i'm looking forward to see Karue at AO main draw 🙂
