- Picked up this bike for $600 dollars, and just wanted to show what it is capable of.
I know the valves were loud, I adjusted them and it was still just a noisy lol.
Everyone swears that these old 250's can't be taken on the highway, but here I clearly prove that to be false.
I'm 6'2" 230lbs, and it very easily carries me past 65 mph. - Авто та транспорт
The NH250 can ABSOLUTELY handle mild/normal highway travel! Swap out your sprockets to 15t/30t, get some iridium plugs and a slight carb up-jet. Thatll get you to 65mph in 4th with even a pinch to spare!
I've seen you post the same comment in 2 different videos, I am planning on changing the front sprocket to my cb 250 two fifty (the EU version of the nighthawk), how is the difference? Changing to a bigger sprocket won't make the bike lose power output but gain top speed?
Thank you for the advice. I'm considering getting this bike for work commute.
sounds like gnarly valve tap
I just got a cb250 nighthawk and I’m 6’1” 200lbs and it tops out at around 55-60 mph. Did you change any of the gearing? I’d love to get mine up to freeway speeds
Personally i do not like lane splitting, i do not do it. Especially on a low power bike. My cb 250 has drum brakes all around, and they fade fast.
Also have you done a valve adjustment ? The valves sound just a bit loud for my liking. People are stupid, the addition of phones make them even more stupid and clueless. Watching your mirrors - and actual head movement will not save you from the phoner driver. After riding many K miles i am still amazed At what passes for driving these days. You are correct they are very capable freeway bikes - if the rider is aware of the limits of the bike. I could be very wrong on the sound of the cam followers, my bike does not sound that way.
I'm about to buy a 1997 Nighthawk and it's 250cc so this video and your comment gives me a little more faith as I have not yet ridden it. I was curious if 250cc was enough for the 55-65 even 70 mph highways and interstates in TN.
@@done8140 What'd you end up getting? Hopefully something in the 350-400 range
What a beauty😍😍😍
Recently just got into motorcycling (mainly because of an anime called Tokyo Revengers🤣) but because I've always loved motorcycles but was always nervous to ride them. Now I want to sooooo bad
How old are u?
Yo Tokyo revengers got me into motorcycles too. My grandpa and I are trying to find a CB250 Nighthawk to kinda rebuild and then he’s giving it to me I’m so hyped
Mate did you install those bar ends?
Dude you are nuts to ride that thing on a highway!! LOL!
Anybody know how I can find this thing? Nearest one I can find is In Alabama
$600.00 for this bike, that's nice! Still got it? Btw, that's Fremont/Newark area! My neck of the woods too! Lol
Just bought a 2003 one myself .its good for 70mph :)
Where can I find them?
Fb marketplace. Craigslist
Are these good beginner bikes? And is it a good bike for a woman that is 5’2?
How is it to ride for your height? I'm 6'2" as well and am curious. Thx
Way too big for the bike, get a 350 or 450
Even though you are 6'2" do you think this bike fits you well? I am 6'1"
1:39 Your carbs need some work. It seems like is idling up high.
Yup! I thought the same. There’s an idle adjuster screw on that thing too I’d start there
How are potholes on a motorcycle? Can they cause you to wreck going like 40-60 mph?
That's exactly what I've been saying
I ride a 94 nighthawk 250 just like in the vid, except everything is stock. I've hit a few potholes going 45-50 and had no issues. They teach you during the msf course on how to prepare for small road obstacles such as speed bumps. Basically, all you gotta do is stay straight, and lift yourself up on the foot pegs
Should not be lanesplitting at those speeds! It's only for very slow traffic or when traffic is stopped!
interesting video, might upload a commute idk
Check your valves cam chain, and oil please! Poor girl sounds like she’s going to blow!
No speedometer and valves trying to commit suicide 😂👌 fuckin' mint I've honestly full sent way worse things
110 versys x 300 100 with a passenger we were both a little nuts lol
This bike sounds horrendous. Either it's your valve clearance or your carb is rotten
I can't find any bike that I can afford in my country. Only newer models are there. And if there is a cheapie its beaten to death. Wish I could pick something similar.
Which country are you in?
What price do you consider reasonable for you to spend?
@@Mybwain I live in Oman where motorbike culture is not very strong. As an example, no one in my university uses a bike. Its a car culture. My budget would be a modest 2000 dollars. Maybe a little bit more.
Where in the world did you find a running motorcycle for $600?
southerner I’m a good negotiator lol. California.
i bought a cb two fifty (same as this in europe) for 450€ with 80.000km (50.000 miles) working perfectly
Bought my CB Two Fifty for 300 euros.. running and all. 29k km
People just don't seem to appreciate these bikes lol
I bought one in California last week for $600
Mine cost 400€ and I only had to clean the carburetor.
Mikey kun's memento from his brother :'(
try adjusting the valve clearance for Christ sakes
After hearing the noise.... Thought I'd scroll down to see the comment... Yup
@@Kali-nl3ll Every 250cc Honda Nighthawk/Rebel I've heard sounds like that. Pretty sure it's the spark/combustion sound. Mine also makes the same noise and my valves are regularly checked.
No one:
Boomers:
Be careful with that light bike on the highway! You'll get blown off the road!!
fierrasooooo!!!
This is why u shud disregard indicated mileage when buying. Even when it's not disconnected anyone can fit a 2nd hand speedo.
Relax
Fix your speedometer
I just got a 07 and it goes 80 mph just fine
Probably 72 or 75mph. The speedos lie by about 5 to 10% on the North American bikes....a different cluster than the Asia, Europe, Aus CB250s with tach.
Mine does 70+ with some throttle left...so if you are a smaller body "wind brake" you might get 80 for real.
Remember though, an 18hp bike with 8hp drum cable manual brakes
and a broken speedometer too..oy...
I’m buying this bike for $700 today
I love motorcycles until I get killed by some shit head not paying attention!!! Really could not recommend riding one! This guy is really putting his life at the kindness of others!
Lmao.
Hahaha, you make it seem like he is doing something extraordinary ;)
@@amjan he is, some asshole hasn't run him over, "YET"!!!
just takes 1 grandmaw answering her phone.. lane splitting at those speeds = dead soonish ! agrees..
Carbs? There is only one
I see your Speedo doesn't work either 😂
esta echa pija esa moto
