Almost a complete test but you forgot Normal Mode. I'd recommend driving in normal mode all the time. People have reported almost no efficiency loss when in normal compared to eco.
Eco used to be almost no different than Normal Mode before it got a lot more sluggish with the 2023 model year (and preconditioning update).

Normal mode and sport mode have the same power the sport mode is just quicker on the acceleration pedal mapping. So they would be identical 0 to 60 If you're just pinning the pedal

@@Crazypostman Okay that's good information to know! I was wondering why you seemed to omit normal mode

Ok, why in New Mexico? There are plenty of county roads in Texas between Vernon and Childress that are flat where you could test. Just curious, for all I know is you just wanted the trip.

Old Mexico not new 🤣, I just said that for legal reasons so I don't get a speeding ticket mailed to me :)

Seriously ... ECO mode got nerfed after the battery preconditioning update. Hyundai has acknowledged the problem and will be working on getting it back to its acceleration before the update. They advise that drivers stop using ECO mode until they correct it.

I've not had any updates done to my car. Is it over the air?

My car won't precondition for certain fast chargers another follower showed away to add fast chargers to the points of interest that supposedly will make it precondition better.

@@Crazypostman no it was a dealer update. I'm surprised to hear your ECO mode has been slow from the start. That was not my experience with my I-5. I got the update on the 10th this month and immediately experienced nerfed ECO mode before I left the dealer lot.
I haven't tried battery preconditioning yet because I live 50 miles from the only EA charger in a city that is 505 square miles and the 7th largest in the nation. So I mostly charge at home. (near San Antonio TX...and yes that was a sarcastic statement that I use on the EA rep when they try to route me to the next closest charger 100+ miles away as a solution to inoperable fast chargers). Sorry I'll stop beating that dead horse.

@@clsutherland331 I'm still learning I just picked up this 2023 SEL AWD 14 days ago so I don't have a lot of ioniq experience yet. But Eco mode just seems dangerously slow to me.

@@Crazypostman oh I see...mine is a 22 Limited purchased in March. ECO mode just got bad, before that drove in it 95% of the time. It was very very capable before the update.

I think you got more regen because the pack SoC also dropped. A full pack can't accept as much regen. To test max regen you should have the pack down at like 50% SoC and fully warmed up.

I think this was probably affected by the temperature the most but yes it could have been state of charge also I'll do some more experimenting later on

Did your car come with preconditioning or did you have to take it in for the upgrade that degraded eco mode? In other words, was eco mode faster when you first got the car?
