My dad came home from work to drop off his work van so he can ride his bike to his other jobs for the day. You should have seen his face when he saw me sitting in his very manly garage in my flora tank top, screw driver in hand, with my fan taken apart😂

Before I was about to dispose of my fan, I checked out your video for one last hope for my fan to function again. Until I saw your video I tried out your method of trying to spray rust oil on the motor generator of my fan. When I turned the switch on then suddenly my fan unknowingly started to work! Thank you very very much for making this video for other people's benefit. I give you credit for this video. THANK YOU 💯

Wow this really works .I left my fan on last night and when I came this morning it didn't want to work . It turned on but didn't spin and it was hot . I came across your video and it helped me alot. I knew I had wd40 so I grab it and sprayed and keep rotating . Turned it on and now it works like brand new. Thank you 😊

I was about to serve last rites on my Whirpool oscillating fan, very similar. Has a 3-speed and off button panel I guessed to be broken. From watching video, got motivated, took it apart (to throw away or last shot attempt). Works fine with no blade or cage attached! Hmmm. Further investigation, cleaning, and lubrication next. Could still be glitchy control pad? It's worth minimum effort.

Sometimes old grease from the oscillation gears gets on the motor shaft and gums up the rear bearing. The whole fan, including the motor housing and the cover protecting the oscillation gears, has to be taken apart, then clean the old grease off of the rear of the motor shaft and apply WD-40 to the rear motor bearing to loosen things up.

What happens is the grease in the bearings dries up, you could pull the white cover and take the motor all apart, get you some non detergent 3 in 1 from Home Depot Lowe’s or the hardware store and whenever it spins slowly just take it apart, clean it and grease the bearings!

One of my oscillating fans would not spin, so I sprayed PB Blaster penetrating lubricant into the fan motor all along the fan shaft.
I repeated this for a couple of days, eventually the fan spun again and started to work..... unfortunately it only worked temporarily....the fan seized up again while in operation.

If that does nit work. There is a thermal cutter that chutes off the circuit when it heats off. You cant short it. It will work but it wont stop it it heats up and can melt the motor and the plastic and the house.

I had the same problem with one of my fans, I sprayed it with PB Blaster penetrating lubricant and it still didn't spin....I laid the fan on the ground with fan facing up, and I kept on spraying it down with the lubricant for 2-3 days by the end of the 3rd day it began to spin again.
Oil is not electrically conductive so you can literally fill a bucket with oil and let just the fan motor soak in it for days.
